  1. I've enjoyed this album/cd for many many years. Some solid songwriting and musicianship. Released in 1973 on Polygram Records. The Rolling Stone reveiw sums up the artist and the album, but to me it is period rock n roll, kind of proggy, kind of Dylan-esque, kind of Sgt Pepper era Beatles and just good. http://www.elliottmurphy.com/downloads/rsaquashow.pdf
  2. Yay, for you!! Even though temptation for massive poking fun of was thwarted...barely.
  3. My ideal automobile (one day), yea it looks abit dated, but still kicks ass!
  4. Good stuff? I've read it has that older Harem Scarem sound, is that true? This cd is amazing!! You will love it. Which my reveiw over at Sleezeroxx ehoes..
  5. Didn't see any of those, certainly would have liked to have seen Pantera and Mad Max though...

  7. So I was listening to some MSG the other day and I got to wondering which of the Schenker brothers I liked better? Who was a better songwriter? Guitarist? What if Rudolf left the Scorpions and went soloinstead of Michael? What if Michael stayed on with the Scorpions? Et Al... I've listed/polled the obvious, but please add or speak up with other takes on this compelling topic... For me: I've enjoyed Michaels work, preferred the McCaughley fronted stuff slightly more than the earlier work, but I have to say Rudolf's work with the Scorpions has been, IMHO, more enjoyable and obviously more commercially accepted.

  14. Happy Day Tom, now to find an appropriate JLH photo to commemmorate this special occasion.
  15. The band that keeps popping to mind each time I see this is Alice In Chains. I know "Facelift" was their first official release, but before that they had a number of songs and demo's that put them strongly in the hair/sleeze rock fold IE: Faster Pussycat and the like... Wildside made a big switcheroo from great hard rock to, well, grunge. How bout Judas Priest? For example: Screaming For Vengeance (hard rock) to Turbo (arena rock) to Painkiller (heavy metal)?

  19. Better remove that e-mail addy from Matts quote then as well pal.
  20. Another great song! ANd WOW nice quality video from a crowd cam... Enjoyed the little spin fight at about 1;26 funny stuff.
  21. I don't know, I think Nirvana sound kinda sleezy, ya the guitars are tuned down, but Ratt did a ton of off tuning and listen to "On A Plain" off Nevermind and tell me that could not have been done by LA Guns or any other glam/sleeze/hard rock band. Again just an observation.
  22. And just a quick thought to help continue the derailment of this thread, what if, now open your mind real wide...if Nirvana looked like Pretty Boy Floyd? What would your take/opinion on Nevermind be?
  23. Back in my youth bfd was used as an achronymn for "big fucking deal". Don't know if it applies to the band however. ON topic this band name is just plain bizarre: CCSO "Clotted Symmetrix Sexual Organ".
  24. GREAT CD!!! Very talented musician and the songwriting is clever... "I love you period. Do you love me question mark? Agreed.... I've owned it on cassette for ages and finally got around to picking up the CD.....as good or better than anything the Georgia Satellites put out.... It is, even though it is hard to touch that S/T relese from the Satelites, do you have Buffalo Nickel and the Yahoos releases? Both are equally cool... Haven't heard of either band.... Buffalo Nickel is actually the second solo release from DB and go hear for the Yahoos: http://www.amazon.com/Fear-Not-Obvious-Yayhoos/dp/B00005N6OK/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1284933831&sr=1-2 Now you've done it.....I didn't know Baird had a second solo release and I just picked it up on eBay....as for The Yahoos , I'll most likely track a copy down as it sounds good to these ears....thanks... Happy to fuel the fire! Enjoy...
  25. SWEEET! PM me so we can figure out the details.
