What's a spinnin' in your CD player?
The Rocker replied to Scandinavia's topic in General Music Discussion
Yes, I really wanted to like this. But just a couple of ok songs for me. -
"Never Too Late For Love" is actually an old song anyway. I personally prefer Bardowell's version of it to this one, but it's still a good song. This is the first time I've checked-out anything by Hardline since the debut and I like it. Kinda sounds like Euro-AOR, but the songwriting is good and so are the vocals... I thought I read somewhere that 1 of these songs is an old Mark/Marcie Free unused song, It seems like a lot of his/her unused songs are being used now(House Of Lords & First Signal used some as well.

it was never going to be, but c'mon, '10,000 Reasons' is one of highlights isnt it? I agree

To make a short story long. After the major down pour today, it turned out pretty damn nice this afternoon. So I got out of work, and picked up the boys from school. On the way home all I heard over and over and over was can we play outside!,can we play outside! The answer was YES!!!, now shut up ! So as they were riding their big wheels through the puddles,(for about an hour and a half)I listened to Hardline-Danger Zone on my ipod. I'd say 5th all the way through, and it just keeps getting better and better. In my top 3 so far for the year.I am liking a lot of songs on this, but one really stood out today. Never too late for love is a flash back to the late 80's early 90's rock seen, just an awesome song for me! Or long story short, I listened to Hardline again today and it is an awesome cd! lol

Church Of Rock is a great tune - so too is the title track. But really there isn't a weak track here - some have dissed downtown & in the night but I love those 2. I mean how can you not like a chorus that goes 'there's a party downtown and your sisters invited'? Great sing-a-long stuff IMO. I don't have a sister...but if I did I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want some sleazy rock band inviting her "downtown". Yes, but being on the other hand is/was quite nice!!!

Very good sounding for something that was never really released.

Totally agree. SFTD is my favorite Europe album as I've said. Geoff, can you really name 3-4 songs on The Circle that were not complete poo? I doubt it... I really like 'We weren't born to follow' and especially 'Loves the only rule.' But stuff like 'Fast cars' and 'Thorn in my side' were pretty good too. Speaking of BJ, I wonder if they'll record again anytime soon? I agree with Glen that 'HAND' is the best of their recent discs and a damn good one at that. Have A Nice Day is BJs best cd of late followed by Bounce then Crush then Lost Highway then the Circle.

Who gets your award for Worst Sophomore Album?
The Rocker replied to Evil Rick's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
The first one is average. Only a few good songs and that awful Save the Weak. The second and third ones were miles better. I agree that Britny Fox's second and third releases are better than the debut. The S/T had "Girlschool" and "Long Way To Love", but then there really isn't anything else...and Save The Weak is sooooooo bad. Just so freakin bad. I hate Save the Weak but love the other tunes on there and would say Boys in Heat has better production but has more filler and is maybe two songs too long but I love all of the first three BF with Bite being my fav. My favorite cd from Britny Fox is Boys In Heat, but I do like all 3. Save the weak is a really bad ballad, never liked it(even though I tried). -
I know, way to many AWESOME cds are out. And we are only in the first half of the year!!!

Completely false. Bormann's ability to write great songs died when he left Jaded Heart. Jaded Heart have done fine without him. Disagree...Bormann's latest slays any JH since he's been gone. Other than the decent "Helluva Time", neither has done anything much in the time since IMO. The solo stuff has been bland, and the last coupla JH discs just sounded like naff power metal (and sucked). Hope this one is a bit better, but I'll believe it when I hear it... I agree on the Jaded Heart comment, but I like all the Solo stuff from MB. -
Yes, I don't get it myself, he's whacked in the head! I agree, It is my favorite of 2011. The Treat was Awesome, the Danger Danger was Great and the Crashdiet was really good also, but the Crazy Lixx of 2010 is better than the Crashdiet imo. Yeah he's totally whacked up because that unbelievable statement came from a guy who loves Danger Danger, because i will understand if he's a die hard of grindcore or death metal He likes all kinds of music, but not to like this is strange! To each their own.
