  1. I would normally love this type of stuff but not liking the song much at all. Big stretch imo to say he's a dead ringer for Age but its cool you're digging it!
  2. Did they end up recording anything that will see the light of day? Not that I expect the songs to be any good.
  3. What Geoff said but switch Bleed and Armageddonize but really there's not much between them. Bleed and Scream's guitar is like a tribute to John Sykes if you dig Serpens Albus and the Blue Murder albums....there's similar sounding/feel to the guitars and borrowed bits of his riffs throughout Bleed and Scream.
  4. There's no such thing as typical JSS imo and that's a big reason his material is so patchy.
  5. For those collecting vinyl get some Rest In Sleaze.... https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/crashdiet-rest-in-sleaze-10th-anniversary-vinyl/#/
  6. Agreed, if u wanna do that throw on a bonus CD on a new album.
  7. Hey, not hating...they're just shit. Got a wife that loves pop and 3 young kids, the eldest who brings home tracks that his primary teachers play, or they learn choreography to. That said there's no uptown funk instant gratification in the few I clicked on. To me just goes to show that unless it's an amazing track you need repeated exposure to appreciate if its out of ur comfort zone!
  8. Seeing this tonight. In Imax. Can't bloody wait! Niiice, enjoy Who's coming over to babysit so the missus and I can go see this?
  9. I thought this was going to be a cool thread, until I started listening to the songs
  10. Just listened to the song, its OK I guess but that sound they used to have is not there anymore....interest waning..
  11. Love the guitar sound of this band. Very Masquerade S/T, songs nowhere near as good but a great vibe and energy throughout! Hope they can take it to another level!
  12. Would have been a good night, better if Saenz got to do all vocals! Shame it didn't happen. http://www.vhnd.com/2015/11/25/eat-em-and-smile-band-30th-anniversary/
  13. "We wanted to surprise people with unexpected, twisted songs."
  14. Stefan, if u liked this check out Rec 1, 2, 3 and 4. Quarantine is the US remake of Rec. Grab Rec 1 and 2 as the 2nd one follows straight on from the first.Yeah, I was gonna say this looked like Rec. I had no idea there were four of them. Are the others any good? The first 2 are great and essentially 1 movie as the action and story continue seamlessly into Rec 2. Rec 3 is a departure as its not first person and truth be told a little silly - which is OK but a different feel to the first 2. Great poster and trailer tho and not bad as a stand alone film but not up to the lofty heights of the predecessors. Rec 4 is very good and a return to form.

  16. First album was great. Will be checking this one out!
  17. Happy bday! Thanks so much for your awesome posting.
  18. No one seems to have mentioned this band, they have some outstanding tracks over their 2 albums so far. Great vocalist, varied styles (which might put off a few), awful videos and band name tho. Here's a sample of some of the stuff on YouTube:
  19. Wow, I seem to be shitting on most of my fave bands this day. This quick 'preview' is after one listen so take from that what you will. 1. Time & Distance - Gang/Chorus vocal track, sort of OK but I tire of these tracks that have a whole choral group. 2. Madness of Men - Could have been a good track if it had vocals. Instrumental. 3. Prometheus - You get vocals for the last minute of the track, not for the other 2:30. 4. Mountain Labyrinth - Instrumental. 5. King Rurik - Another Instrumental. 6. Prince Igor - Yet Another Instrumental. ....not a good opening 21 or so minutes zzzzzzzz... 7. The Night Conceives - female mid tempo rocker. Not that great. 8. Forget About the Blame (Sun Version) - Very nice ballad, male vocal. 9. Not Dead Yet - Cool bass groove and obvious 'evil' song for a theatrical Jon Oliva (who doesn't sing). However, it doesn't work except for the opening bass line. 10. Past Tomorrow - Female piano ballad. OK but boring! 11. Stay - Dark moody female ballad. If you have the Savatage acoustic bonus tracks it's pretty much identical as the Jon Oliva version which happens to be much better. Good song though! 12. Not The Same - Female ballad. Quite a good song. 13. Who I Am - Instrumental that turns in a choral group track. Meh. 14. Lullaby Night - Boooooring instrumental. 15. Forget About the Blame (Moon Version) - Lzzy Hale version of track 8 above. Easily the best track on the album! So for a Savatage and TSO fan like me there will be 2 tracks I'll be adding to my streaming library (Not The Same and Lzzy's version of Forget About the Blame). I have to say I'm more bummed out about this than I was the Lost Xmas Eve which had lots of music but hardly any songs and the best ones were rehashes. I can only hope they releases the stuff like The Romanovs asap to get my good will back, and to enjoy their songwriting before they just started padding albums out with instrumental nonsense! Two big fucking thumbs down! Would love to hear other peoples thoughts.
