  1. You should ask Geoff. He loves foreign language music.
  2. Much much better!!!!! Which one are you referring to?
  3. And?? is this the Radcliffe's latest movie ? yeah interested to hear what you think of it I don't think I've even heard of this.
  4. Been listening to this guy a lot lately. Really love "When I Saw Your Face."
  5. Can't say i'm very familiar with much of "The Stone Roses" work.I just checked out the original, but neither that or this "Merrymouth" version is really my cup of tea i'm afraid. Ah, but are you a tea drinker?Yeah, what kind of tea?I am a tea drinker actually. Not that i have a cup of tea very often, but if given the choice between tea or coffee i'd go with tea everytime. Never been a coffee drinker at all, which i'm glad of when i see the amount of money the guys i work with spend on it. I don't know what it's like in the UK and Canada, but down here the price and pretentiousness of coffee has gotten a bit out of hand.All of a sudden somebody who works at a coffe shop is called a "Barista" and god help you if you offer somebody instant coffee. I have friends who have spent thousands on fancy cafe style coffee machines who are horrified when they visit and i pull out the old "Nescafe Blend 43". Now that's a man's coffee. Ah there's plenty of coffee pretentiousness here too for sure! What kind of tea Karpetface? Well not the dodgy kind I mostly drink black teas, of which primarily Typhoo. I'm also one of those pretentious coffee drinkers you two are talking about. There are lots of gorgeous (+ pretentious) independent coffee houses springing up by me, including some that offer Barista training. I love sitting in them, reminds me of Vienna. I stick to tea though - good old Twinings "Springing up" is a good way to put it. That's definitely the case over here, too. I think people are getting tired of Starbucks and Tim Horton's (it's a Canadian thing) and want a richer coffee experience. By the way, this reminds me of Vienna: https://youtu.be/wkeuV_igRBQ

  8. Haha, I thought all your commentary was shaping up to you hating this. Why?? All my comments in this thread (aside from slagging them off live ) have been very positive Yeah, it's clear he doesn't actually read full comments. It appears he glosses over and makes a judgment based on what he assumes the comments say. Anyway, I can't wait to hear this one.
  9. Yeah, I would too, but I doubt I'd like a radically different version. Some songs are great as they are and screwing with them too much just ruins the attempt. Nice to hear some beefed up versions though. I find it interesting that a metal band could have recorded this song (maybe one of the 3 I posted above) and it never went anywhere because it wasn't done by a band who was already huge. Every now and then I discover hidden gems like this. Songs that are amazing and should have been massive hits bit never got picked up. I suppose QR's versions of Cum On Feel The Noize and Mama Weer All Crazee Now are pretty good example of this. I just read an interview with Frankie Benali where he was asked if he met Slade, and he said he met the bass player who was cold, and turned out the whole band were cold about QR getting the accolades, even though whoever wrote the songs got the lion's share of the cash. And wasn't Quiet Riot cold about doing the covers in the first place? While I certainly enjoyed me some QR back in 1983 / 1984, I feel confident in my opinion that if it weren't for Cum On Feel The Noise we absolutely would not be discussing Quiet Riot some 35 years later. Oh, mos definitely.

  11. Did you live in the UK then? Just that your location shows as Munich......... I believe in his introduction thread he mentioned he was originally from the UK.
  12. I feel the guitars are not as loud/crunchy as the other albums also the drums are not as loud and strong sounding as the other albums. That's what I mean when I say "Lite".Yeah i get what u mean but thats not what lite means.... That is light lol. Actually, that is what "lite" denotes. It's an informal variant to "light," most often used to indicate lower calorific or fat content, but can also be used to describe, metaphorically, a less extreme version of a thing.
  13. Marvin Gaye - Here, My Dear Jamiroquai - Automaton The Classic Crime - How to Be Human
  14. I never really had a place. But I suppose the closest thing would be a club in Vancouver called the Venue, only because most of the bands I see get booked there. But by most it's prolly still less than 50%.
  15. I'm on the verge of tears every time I listen to this. It's simply one of the best songs every recorded.Its weird but to me that isnt quite AOR....its melodic rock.Whereas this is AOR -https://youtu.be/6K6oXtfjP0I I think debut is AOR, mood Swings is melodic (hard in places) rock Woooh, now that's what I call a Hair band!! Yeah. Harry had the best hair! ;}
  16. I'm on the verge of tears every time I listen to this. It's simply one of the best songs every recorded.imho that Harem Scarem (Stranger Then Love) to me is rather average both in melody and vocals, nothing special about it to bring such emotion. Someone get the defibs. This man's heart has stopped.
