  1. After the Blackeyed Susan poll I searched Dean on Itunes to see if I could find this song. Was not aware he had released a full solo album. Itunes lists Drive My Karma as having been released in 2007. Like a couple of songs. As stated above, very mellow acoustic based singer/songwriter material.
  2. Love Firehouse and CJ's vocals are a huge reason why. Like what I hear so far.
  3. Three weeks until I leave for Ireland to see the Cult back to back nights in Dublin June 14 and 15.
  4. Too Fast For Love Shout At The Devil Looks That Kill Too Young To Fall In Love Smokin' In The Boys Room Girls, Girls, Girls Dr. Feelgood Kickstart My Heart Saints Of Los Angeles Toast of the Town by special request Knock 'em Dead, Kid Red Hot Live Wire Public Enemy Number 1 Take Me to the Top
  5. According to their facebook page, the Friday Night Boys B Sides compilation was a digital release exclusive to Itunes only.
  6. Wow! That new guy can wail! Like the new song. Smokin' live rendition.
  7. Was listening to Electric Rattlebone in the car for the first time in probably 7 or 8 years. Don't necessarily hate it but it never really grabbed me either. Think I played it once and shelved it to be honest. It was several years later I picked up Open Skyz after finding out that was the moniker Valentine went by after their debut. So when the very distinctive intro to None of it Matters came cranking out of my car speakers, I was reminded that Blackeyed Susan had recorded their own version of this song. I still prefer the Open Skyz version but Dean and the boys do a pretty decent job on it themselves. I just found it odd that two bands so stylistically different would end up covering the same song. Kinda like Steve Perry and Journey vs John Corabi and the Scream.
  8. Thanks for the list. I'll try getting around to samples this weekend. Starting with Houston Calls.
  9. Always loved this band. Definitely picking up the new one to complete the catalogue.
  10. Been viewing plenty of youtube clips from the festival. Amazing!
  11. Like it. Hope the rest of the album is along the same line.
  12. Now that my car stereo is working: Bang Tango Dancin on coals Giant 3 EzN Animals
  13. Do they have a release date in mind?
  14. Great song. Definitely agree with the U2 assertion. Liking what I am hearing from this album. May just have to add this one to a steadily growing shopping list.
  15. Nice shopping list there. Been meaning to pick up the Heavy Metal Kids catalogue for sometime myself.
  16. Heard a few samples of this one through Itunes and was planning on waiting to see if it was released on cd. Now that I know they've broken up I'm just gonna grab the download. Thanks for the info.
  17. Check out an as yet unsigned band by the name of Boys Will Be Boys at: http://www.myspace.com/boyswillbeboys I bought a half dozen songs on Itunes from the available eps. Should fit in nicely with Friday Night Boys etc.
  18. I was so close to going to this to celebrate my 40th b-day. Instead the wife and I are going to see the Cult back to back nights in Ireland. Excluding bands that are officially broken up or simply never tour anymore, I'm not sure I could have put together a better lineup of touring bands if I had handpicked them myself. With the exception of Hurtsmile (though I do like what I hear from them) being bumped by Extreme. Would have loved to see Wildstreet, too. Oh well. Have a great time. Look forward to hearing a review.
  19. Enjoy the John Waite show. I'm so glad I got to see John Waite (solo). I actually only went to see him because a local band called The Ravyns was the opener. I've gotta say.. I was highly surprised at how good John Waite was. I saw him with Bad English 3 or 4 times also... but his solo show was great. The Ravyns? Is that the band Kyf Brewer was in before Company of Wolves? Anything like his work with the Conti Bros? Always loved Call of the Wild. Yes.. Kyf Brewer and Rob Fahey shared the vocals for the Ravyns. You can check the sample and buy the disc here if interested... http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ravyns In my Top 20 of all-time. Appreciate that. I'll check it out.

  21. The Black Keys SUCK! Surely I can't be the only one out there who thinks this. I can't believe the amount of airplay this band gets.
  22. Rhino Bucket Buckcherry Four Horsemen for certain but I see someone has wisely suggested them already.
