  1. Check out the trailers. Avatar: http://www2.avatarmovie.com/ Legion: http://www.legionmovie.com/ 2012: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/2012/
  2. What's next - If you say the name of a band or song in public you have to cut ASCAP/BMI/RIAA a check? Talk about going out of their way to kill an industry. Don't get me started on the fuckers wanting to collect on 30-second samples. Been there. Done that. BMI wanted thousands from me for mono 30-second samples. That's why I took them all down the first time around. Now I only post samples from labels or artists that either submit directly to me or with whom I have blanket agreements with. As the economy tanks further and these leeching organizations look for ways to pad their pockets, look for it to only get worse... *SPIT*
  3. April Rain is better than Lucidity. More lush, more vocal harmonies.
  4. Well, in the original problem thread I asked for some specific information to try and diagnose the problem, but never got a response, either in post, pm, or email. What browser are you using? What operating system are you using? We need to try and isolate WHERE the problem lies: 1. Since no one else is reporting this problem, I doubt it is a problem with the database or the board configuration. 2. Have you tried using a different web browser? If you usually use IE, download Firefox or Google Chrome and try accessing the board. That will help determine if it is a browser/cache/cookies issue. 3. Try going through an anonymous proxy (http://www.hide-me-now.com) and log in and see if you can post or reply. This may isolate whether the problem is ISP or DNS related. I see no entries in the blocked IP addresses that correspond to Dave's last posted-from address; nothing even close. The fact that the problem occurs on multiple computers *and* multiple accounts implies to me that it is somehow ISP- or network-related. -Dan
  5. Yep. If you're not logged in as a member and you don't have 25 posts you can no longer read this part of the forum. That gbayemporium fucker scammed me (I should have been paying attention and blocked his ass) and gave my my only neg of the last year as well as fucking up my star ratings. He sent me email saying that the whole reason he did it was because of the comments people made here on the board. eBay won't do anything because the communication was done outside of eBay.
  6. It's just The Man (or in this case a diminuitive Asian woman) tryin' to keep a Bruthah (or in this case Sistah) down. I never realized just how full of wingnuts tennis fandom is. Take a gander at some of the tennis forums out there... the Williams sisters fanbase is... umm... a bit rabid. It's scary. -Dan
  7. I agree with gener8tr. At some point Jaded Heart went from being AOR to Euro power metal. They went from being Frontline to Gamma Ray. Nothing wrong with that, but it sure as hell ain't AOR.
  8. Listening now. It continues in the heavier vein ala the last album, and while it probably won't make my top 5 for 2009, there are definitely some cool tracks on it. Check out this one: Blood-Stained Lies
  9. Listening to it now. It's hit or miss, in my opinion. Too fragmented stylistically to hold my attention. Some great tracks and then some clunkers. I'm finding myself preferring the less "modern" tracks that harken back to their older sound.
  10. Actually, the best Brother Firetribe track to date (in my not-so-humble opinion) is this one. (It's a hi-res MP3, so it may take a while to download). Really though, you can't ever go wrong with BF. Even some of the funky remixes are cool... like this one. -Dan
  11. Dang. He's just NOW noticing it? I'm hurt. *sniff*
  12. Everything's running like gangbusters here. Problem with your ISP maybe? -Dan
  13. You talking about the band pages? Yeah right below the band name and picture there's a "Switch to Expanded View" or "Switch to Condensed View" link. It remembers which one you choose, and you can switch the view choice at any time. It's been there for hundreds of years. -Dan
  14. FYI, my box just arrived today. Haven't had a chance to listen yet. -Dan
  15. Actually, I just came up with a list of who I thought might fit the characters, yet utterly destroy the classic... no clue who actually will be in it.
  16. Say what you like, but the man makes a mean illegal crackback block. Whatta scumbag.
  17. Disney is known for their censorship. It will be interesting to see if they try to "tone down" certain titles...
  18. Oh no.... they're going to destroy yet another classic. Hawkeye Pierce - Will Farrell Trapper John - Ben Stiller Frank Burns - Steve Carell Hot Lips - Cameron Diaz Colonel Henry Blake - Ray Romano Max Klinger - Adam Sandler Radar O'Reilly - Seth Rogen
  19. hot lips & Radar Partially correct. It was Gary Burghoff as Radar O'Reilly. While the character Hot Lips was in both, the actresses were different.
  20. Yeah, but IPB 3.0 is fucking hideous. I hate it. Not upgrading. -Dan
  21. FELONY In an era where many "great" artistic wells seem to be starting to run dry, FELONY bursts out of the proverbial rock'n'roll gate like thoroughbred race horses from hell. The proverbial torch-bearers of the Midwest metal scene, this powerhouse dates back to 1989 and the second great sexual revolution of our culture. ‘Helltown Hotel’ documents plenty of attitude and gives us an unobstructed view of the evolution of FELONY from their earlier no-frills metal sound, with songs like the blood-pumping ‘Yank That Chain’ to songs like ‘To The Core’ which chronicle the darker, heavier version of the later day. Representing their unbridled lifestyle and way of performing, the term “Helltown” has become synonymous with all things that are FELONY. 1. Cat Daddy 2. Dancin’ On My Grave 3. Heist In Helltown 4. Street Fight 5. Well of Souls 6. To the Core 7. Lost In The Closet 8. Yank That Chain 9. Days of Disease 10. Another Hero 11. F.I.T.H. 12. Shake The Faith 13. Heist In Helltown ’93 14. Heist in Helltown (Live) 15. Mississippi Rollin’ 16. Shattered Innocence http://www.eonianrecords.com/b-felony/felony.html STRIKE TWICE STRIKE TWICE was created by vocalist Michael Hayes and guitarist Rob Luv, two guys with a love in their hearts and souls for hot-blooded hard rock. Fate smiled kindly on them during the 80’s metal revolution as they packed out clubs everywhere they went. Their tight, sleaze-fueled sound and debauchery-drenched stage show struck a chord with fans everywhere. Their music was powerful and precise, their songs designed to deliver hook-heavy entertainment. STRIKE TWICE played their music displaying a killer knack for crafting punchy, high-energy hard rock songs that drip with streetwise swagger and bad boy shock factor. Never settling for second best, STRIKE TWICE gave it all they had, a well-oiled hair metal machine that delivered the goods to hungry hard rockers. With ripping tunes like "Tango," "D.F.W.M.," and "Undress Me," STRIKE TWICE proves beyond any doubt that they possess that indefinable hard rock magic that is still as relevant today as it was in the late 80’s and early 90’s! 1. Tuff Luck 2. Intoxication 3. Never Let Go 4. Get It 5. Dirty Lover 6. One Night With You 7. Undress Me 8. Wake Up Cryin' 9. Tango 10. D.F.W.M. 11. 22. Ok, I've been watching Versailles videos on YouTube for the last half hour. Musically, they kick some serious butt. I may have to track down that DVD.
  23. Absolutely twisted. Check out some of his other vids including the Iron Maiden and Judas Priest covers. Hey plays one mean 8-string bass.
  24. We feel this new batch of releases truly encompasses the diversity of everything we are trying to create with our reissue division, Divebomb Records. SARGANT FURY - The Anthology (3 CD BOX) SARGANT FURY were a (mostly) German hard rock outfit releasing three incredible albums during 1991-1995. Delivering rock solid songs and working with top producers like Tommy Newton (Helloween, Elegy, Victory), Charlie Bauerfeind (Blind Guardian, Angra, Gamma Ray) and Sascha Paeth (Rhapsody, Kamelot, Edguy) it's a wonder how they never took over the world! Alas, as we all know by now some things are just never meant to happen. However it didn't stop there for some SARGANT FURY members, their vocalist, Andrew "Mac" McDermott, did eventually go on to front the UK's premiere progressive metal act, THRESHOLD during their most eventful years. Bassist, Bauke de Groot, currently plays in HATE SQUAD and started his own record label in Germany and besides releasing amazing metal and hardcore from European bands he even licensed Tribunal Records' own, KILLWHITNEYDEAD for release overseas. Small world, eh? We like to think so! So we being the big SARGANT FURY fans that we are decided it was time to dust off these classics and release them together in one amazing box set! ALL TRACKS were digitally remastered by Jamie King @ The Basement Studios during July 2009. 3-CD Box + T-shirt Package Deal = $36.99 DOMINANCE - Resurrected This forward thinking Philadelphia area thrash band was formed from the ashes of cult heroes Anvil Bitch. Their two classic demos (Dominance - 1988 and Look Where We Worship - 1990) have been compiled and remastered for this new collection. Resurrected is the first time this material has been released on CD. The enhanced content contains a full live set from 1989 and slide show of club flyers from the era. Also included - brand new interview with the band and full lyrics. "Even with Dominance’s late arrival to the thrash metal explosion, their music was adventurous and lyrical subject matter absolutely captivating. However, what truly set them apart from the countless bands hacking it out was the addition of samples to their music. It was extraordinarily innovative and I can still remember getting chills the first time I heard General Ursus’ voice declaring “The only good human is a dead human” (from Planet Of The Apes) in the opening few seconds of “Resurrected.” It was eerie, yet uplifting in a sense. When their Look Where We Worship demo was released, the thrash scene may have been on its way out, but Dominance were defiantly paving a new path and adding even more creative depth to their already impressive arsenal of songs. Though they weren’t necessarily reinventing the wheel their bold approach to thrash metal certainly changed my world, forever." Despite releasing three critically acclaimed demos true “break out success” always seemed to slip through their fingers. While influenced by Metallica and Testament they were also equally drawn to works by Rush, Mahavishnu Orchestra and even Eric Johnson. In 1987, they released their first demo, Focus Of Terror, which received an enthusiastic response from the scene thus resulting in the track “The End” appearing on Thrash Attack III. Sickness, released a year later, found the band quickly gaining ground with great reviews in fanzines worldwide most notably, Kerrang! As if all the positive press and opening for bands such as DEATH, DARK ANGEL and SACRED REICH, wasn’t enough to warrant the scene’s attention “Typhoid Mary” was then chosen to appear on Metal Blade Records’ prestigious Metal Massacre series. Fall Of Creation brought greater exposure in publications like Metal Maniacs, Thrash ‘Em All and Metal Forces and they signed with Red Light Records in 1993 and recorded From Within in 1994. Sadly enough, right before the album’s release the label went belly up and it never saw the light of day in the US. After a crushing blow like that and 10 years as a band SOLITUDE decided to quietly bow out of the metal world. Poisoned Population: The Complete Collection (1987-1994) is a two disc remastered collection of all 26 tracks. It features all new artwork, extensive liner notes, full lyrics, enhanced live concert videos and much more. 25. If this is even remotely true, THAT EGOTISTICAL MORON now epitomizes the term DOUCHEBAG. If not, then reserve that monicker for the media...
