  1. I just added 3 tracks from each to the HH radio feed. Both releases are quite solid, but I especially like the UZI CD. Some excellent material on that one! -Dan
  2. Meh. It's not a race thing or a music thing. It's the trend du jour. When a high profile person dies, we now turn them into a saint. It happened with Michael Jackson. It happened with Prince Diana. It's happening right now with Steve McNair. Just ignore it. They're all meaningless millionaires anyway. Want to admire someone? Go down to your local police, fire, or ambulance company... -Dan
  3. I've got mine on order; still waiting for it to get here from Japan. Even a mediocre Fair Warning is better than most...
  4. Hmm.... joins this afternoon and every single post made is confrontational and antagonistic. Sorry, not playing. Guhbye!
  5. (admittedly, that's common knowledge to just about everyone, but...) It's a 5-minute watch, but showcases just how far those wingnuts go. Filing suit in California to take down a World War I Veterans Memorial because 1 guy in Oregon says that he might someday drive to California and if he saw the cross on public land he would be offended. What. The. Fuck.
  6. Thread cleaned up with some poor-taste comments and some personal attacks edited and removed. Formal notice to Axelinger, Tim(2), and Glen: Settle down or receive a mandatory vacation. Let's keep the MJ discussion to the musical aspects, as the legal issues are specious at best. Have a nice day. -Dan
  7. The 3-CD special edition is on sale at Best Buy this week for $14.99 ($14.49 at Amazon), so I picked it up. Haven't had a chance to listen yet. Packaging absolutely SUCKS. Each CD is in its own cardboard sleeve, and the 3 sleeves slide into one end of the Digipak. Only one problem - The end is open with nothing to keep the 3 sleeves from falling out of the damned thing, so you have to be extra careful on how you pick the fucking thing up. Lame.
  8. Yeah, this web site really cuts into my hookers and blow.
  9. It be's an intranets conspiracy... I can't get there again today.
  10. Just checking if it's my little slice of the internet or what, but I cannot reach either the noticeboard or the main site at MR... -Dan
  11. Renaissance is still around? Who knew... haven't they folded several times over the years? Or just defunct for long periods? -Dan
  12. No, that was in 2000: http://heavyharmonies.ipbhost.com/index.ph...l=rolling+stone Can't recall what was going on in 2004... -Dan
  13. Well after all is said and done the grand total was 102 separate donations which will cover 6 months of operating costs. Thanks to everyone who donated! And now the important stuff - the winners of the crappy CDs! Remember, this is random dreck. Not to be mistaken for gems of any kind! The 5 winners are, in no particular order: Christine Besser Jeff Scanlon Tim Robertson Michael Prymula Stephen Wingert My apologies to the winners! Please PM or email me your shipping addresses and I will get the CDs out to you at some point in the next 7 years. CDs will be shipped sans jewel cases... deal with it. Thanks again to everyone who participated! -Dan
  14. As fugly as he is, I hope he countersues and wins. Read the comments on the article page; they're right on the money - the stupid cunt got scared when daddy got pissed, so now she's made up a story. I hate shit like that.
  15. This is one of the Best Buy sale discs I picked up this week on a lark. I hadn't heard the band at all before, and honestly I bought it based on the band picture on the back of the CD. Winner! The lead singer reminds me of a cross between Burton Cummings (The Guess Who) and Randy Jackson (Zebra). I see that their earlier discs are already on HH. I'm guessing this new one is the first one to get mainstream distribution in the U.S.? Best Buy didn't have any of the others. I've uploaded 4 tracks to the radio feed, and here are 3 of my favorites: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/04-Show_Me.mp3 http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/05-Stronger.mp3 http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/08-No_Way_Out.mp3
  16. Gah! I hope The Sting never gets remade in any form. One of the best movies of all time that should NOT be fucked with.
  17. That was a heck of a game! Interesting listening to both ESPN Radio and Mad Dog Radio the last few days - NO ONE and I mean NO ONE gave Pittsburgh a shot at winning tonight's game. Considering that homes teams had won the first 6 games, not surprising, but I think Fleury deserves one big-assed bonus check playing the way he did tonight on the heels of the embarrassment in game 5. He was the deciding factor tonight.
  18. I moved this thread to the Record Label Forum as the information appears to be at least quasi-official. -Dan
  19. GREAT stuff! Also known as the group "Dragon" they released an earlier album in 1983 entitled "Body and the Beat" http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glam...dy+and+the+Beat There are a whole bunch of videos on Youtube from both releases: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7hO4hQuxNQ -Dan
  20. Still waiting for mine to get here from Amazon UK. As soon as it gets here, several of the track will be added to the radio feed.
  21. Actually this is only the tip of the iceberg, and it's likely to get messier over the next few years for several reasons: 1. Proposed legislation to do away with the online/mail order sales tax loophole. At some point expect to have to pay sales tax on ALL online purchases regardless of what state you live in and what state the merchandise is ordered/shipped from. 2. Due to the governments (federal and state) being so strapped for cash, the implementation of a VAT here in the U.S. (a national sales tax similar to what Europe has, that would be IN ADDITION to any state sales tax you pay). Never mind that a lot of people will simply stop buying shit. 3. An absolute clusterfuck for eBay sellers if it is mandated that sales tax must be charged, collected, documente, and reported. In some ways, forcing states to all operate the same would make things much easier and streamline the process. Right now you have some states that have state sales tax, but at different rates; some states that charge no sales tax; and some states that have "reciprocal agreements" in place with *some* other states (e.g., here in Illinois, if we sell goods within the state we have to collect IL sales tax, and for about 8 other states we have to collect THEIR sales tax rate). It's a pain in the butt. In addition, here in Illinois, we're looking at a 50% increase in the state income tax being proposed by the governor. We're going to be taxed to death so that a few people can line their (already wealthy) pockets.
  22. Well I hope it was obvious how much I care about the little people... and by little people I mean midget porn. I see the next FrCry album cover!! ... and my retinas are burning.
  23. What. a. fucking. inbred. sack. of. shit.
