He says the record company thought "Out of the Silence" was too soft & they wanted a Bon Jovi-feel to the follow-up. Wharton says he is embarrassed to listen to it as it's not what they wanted to do & it's so generic, & it's the weak-link in the Dare catalogue. I interviewed him after the "Calm Before the Storm" album came out.

 

I don't think "Blood From Stone" is a patch on "Out of the Silence", but it's still a very very good album.
