Yumpin' Yiminy... 2022 is off to one hell of a start musically

Recommended Posts

I was on a road trip Saturday, roughly 8 hours of driving time, so I had lots of time to listen to new and upcoming releases, and if 2022 continues in the way the first batch of releases has done thus far, it could wind up surpassing 2021, which is no mean feat.

Albums I listened to that seem excellent out of the gate (no clue yet as to staying power), in alphabetical order:

Autumn's Child - Zenith

Battle Beast - Circus of Doom

Dan Reed Network - Let's Hear it for the King

DeVicious - Black Heart

Edge of Forever - Seminole

Fate - Back to the Past

Giant - Shifting Time

Kissin' Dynamite - Not the End of the Road

Steve Dalton - Primitive

And there's a bunch I haven't even gotten to yet.

Haven't heard most yet but agree on Kissin' Dynamite. I also think the Giant album is good. I know people don't like them using the name, but if it was a different band name we'd think it was good anyway.

Lot's of releases to look forward to this year. Worked out I bought 34 albums released in 2021, 7 were reissues but that is still a big year for me on forking out for new albums. Hopefully it is similar in 2022 (quality and quantity).

Kissin' Dynamite and Battle  Beast both have been taking up most of my listening time in the last couple of weeks. Giant is good too, but not in comparison to those 2

Agreed, those two stand above the rest. The two that surprised me the most were the Dan Reed Network and Edge of Forever.

Is it  :( have this preordered from them...think it was to be a March release.

Of this years releases I have Kissin Dynamite & Giant...both very good...and I've heard the Fate tunes...still can't really find much info on that one? I wasn't much of a fan of the last Edge Of Forever disc..apart from a tune or two

Yarp. I needs it. All my previous concerns were erased when "Turborider" dropped. If that's the quality of the entire album...

I just noticed as I was adding the new Dan Reed Network to the site that this summer/fall they are doing a number of dates with Reckless Love in the UK. That would be a heck of a show based on the new albums from both.
