On another note, I wonder what the local beer in the Cook Islands is?

Raro Lager - very nice drop. The cheapest, and my regular fuel for the holiday. I loved it. nzd$5 in resorts, nz$2.50 at the local shops. :)

Matutu Lager - delicious, possibly nicer than the Pale Ale. Funilly enough neither were available in resorts, but nz$3.50 at local shops.

Matutu Pale Ale - again, very nice. All three locally brewed beers get the thumbs up from me. :)

Thanks mate. Even a can of beer deserves a nice holiday every now and then, don't you think? It gave us something to talk about as I consumed him following his sight-seeing tour.

Grand Final day on Sunday (containing my team!) and a public holiday on Monday. If anything screams out DRINK BEER more than that I don't know what it is.

Stone Pale Ale and St. Pauli Girl are the drinks of the day so far. Throw in a couple of shots of Yukon Jack, a dash of college football with an extra layer of tasty tunes and there's the makings of a great Saturday.

I ended up knocking back quite a few last night, totally unexpected, as I did some pre-paint preparation work on the railings on the staircase. Tonight I hope to have a few also, but it will depend on who drives to dinner. Sadly I think my turn is long overdue. :(

Some very fine ales were consumed whilst on my trip to Shropshire and the Lake District including Hobsons 'Best' and 'Postmans Knock', Jennings 'Cumberland' Ale & Thwaites 'Wainwright' ale. All 4 most excellent :drink:

Tonight I'm living the High Life. It's leftovers from a recent trip to the coast. Still has sand on 'em.

Back on the High Life again. Many more of these fuckers than I thought. No problem, I can handle it(.......I type as I stagger away, reaching for chairs and knocking them over, cursing under my breath as my wife gives me the stink eye. Where's the Yukon Jack?......)

    • It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.
    • Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
