Forgotten Hard Rock Albums: MASI - "Downtown Dreamers" (1988)

Back in 1988, going to the Record Bar was my weekly religion. A lot of the time I had no idea who I was buying. If the band name was good, they looked cool, and had some promising song titles, I was in. Most of the time, method #3 was essential. Song titles often give off an impression on what the music will be like. 

Being on Lizzy Borden's label, I took a chance on MASI. I had heard Alex Masi was a guitar master so I took a chance.

Not long after, "God Promised A Paradise" graced MTV's Headbanger's Ball. The best track easily on the album.

Not a bad album, but quite average throughout. Guitars are great though.

Yea I wish they could have recorded another as I liked this one front to back.

 

The vocals are killer and the tunes are so damn infectious.

I recall this being an average album with a killer guitarist

after checking out GPAP, yup that's one great song indeed
