AJ Pero/Twisted Sister Dies at 55

" Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French has reported that drummer A.J. Pero has passed away. The cause of death is not yet known.

On his Facebook Page, French reported: "The members of Twisted Sister are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, A.J. Pero.

 

I see another has succumbed and at a really young age too...

That's a bummer. Never got to see Twisted Sister back in the day but I did see Dee Snider's SMF's (his T.S. "cover band") once back in the mid 90s and A.J. got onstage with 'em and drummed for a couple of songs... that's as close as I'll ever get, I guess.

 

The "Annihilation Absolute" album by A.J.'s other band, Cities (1986) is an obscure metal gem as well.

Adrenalin Mob played last night and dedicated the show to him. I didn't go to the show, but heard about it. Mike Portnoy and someone else took over the drums.

I was lucky enough to see them live twice. Rocklahoma 2007 was a phenomenal performance.
