From Escape Music:

Make way for a brand new British Rock Band that features some of the best musicians in today's rock scene. With lead vocals from the great Robert Hart (Solo / Bad Company / Manfred Mann's Earth Band) and guitars from FM's very own Jim Kirkpatrick, this is a match made in heaven as they combine their song writing skills and musicianship to come up with this fantastic debut by Diesel.

Diesel plays solid traditional rock in the manner of Bad Company, the sort of music that has firm roots in the classic vein of British hard Rock with a blues element. Accompanied by Jim Copley (Manfred Man's Earth Band, Go West, and Paul Rodgers) and Pat Davey (Seven) who provide the solid rhythm backbone of the band, this quartet can give you great songs and first rate melodies all day long. It is great to see that the guest list includes Adam Wakeman (Black Sabbath and Snakecharmer) and Steve Overland (Solo artist, Shadowman and FM), rounded off with the mixing skills of Tommy Hansen. From "Fortune Favours the Brave" to "Brand New Day" we are presented with delight after delight as they effortlessly give us an array of classic rock tunes.

A breath of fresh air if ever there was one

Tough audience here on HH...personally I will be picking this up...

Heh, tell me about it!

Whenever I post threads of crap like Iron Maiden, I'll get zillion replies and 90% of them demands my head on a plate...

Hey Stef..All you got to do is keep posting endless threads for Steel Panther or H.e.a.t then everything will be ok ;) Seriously mate..keep 'em coming.

This sounds pretty good, typical of what I would expect this line up of musos to come out with. Would like to hear more before I commit to buy though.

Hey sorry for posting an opinion guys but that track sounds average to me. I'll listen to this on Spotify of course but im not mega excited.

Rubbish album, sounds like a bunch of current FM z-sides, and considering how average to poor FM are these days, that is not a compliment. Last song is pretty decent, the opener is okay and 'Bitter and twisted' is again okay. But none are amazing. Oh, and 'So what is love' is a decent safe balladic number. The rest, though, is basically terrible. Most of these songs are instant skips. :(

    • Yeah I guess it’s a little different for physical CD collectors, but even still, stuff can happen in four weeks. In the world of streaming, especially, there could still be half a dozen notable albums to come this year. I don’t know what they could be as I keep no track at all of upcoming albums, so I never know what’s still to come, which could be anything.    I guess if you’re a meticulous planner and are fully aware of every single new release you might be interested in, and there’s no more due this year - which is probably exactly what this Brendan dude is - no harm in releasing the list.
    • She came out with in New Romantic era, like Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran Her father, Marty, had big hits in early sixties
    • I think I pretty much have my top ten list, but seeing as I have been tracking it through the year rather than leaving it to the end as normal, I am not sure it will change being that I don't really have more purchases lined up. But being that this year I have really gone wild on filling back catalogue gaps, I may pick up something I missed from this year and that will upset the apple cart ha ha
    • Whoah this is catchy!
    • Calling for you, Emaheeval & Gone bad on the debut Widowmaker album were all Desperado songs. Of course the Widowmaker debut was released before Desperado's album finally got a release even though it was recorded after. The thing that always made me laugh was that when it was first released as Bloodied but unbowed with three extra tracks to what was the original planned tracklist, I bought it from Dee Sniders website, so was fully endorsed by Dee. But years later when Deadline released it under its original name, Ace, without the three extra songs, Dee claimed it had never been released before ... selective memory?

    • Did not have "liking an album from The Offspring" on my 2024 bingo card, but there we are. Not sure if it's pop, punk, or something else... catchy though.
    • No no no!  Worst thing in the 80s (musicwise), Modern Talking.
    • Really liking this one bar the Journey cover, which whilst not terrible , doesn’t really do a lot for me. The rest though is rather excellent
