Did King Diamond ever

KING

Recommended Posts

Cover Pink floyds "Welcome To The Machine? I heard a killer cover version of this the other day on radio and without the high screams it sounded like Diamond. :banger:

It was probably Queensryche since they covered it last year on their covers album.

It wouldn't be this version by Shadows Fall (of all creatures!) would it?

I Googled "Welcome to the Machine Cover Versions" and the first two things that came up were Queensryche's version and this one.

BTW whoever it is that sang the version you're looking for, I sincerely doubt it was King Diamond. To the best of my knowledge he's never covered that song (and a Google search for "King Diamond Welcome to the Machine" comes up with nuthin'...)

Well, my typing skills are better than dear old Mullethead's, but my sentiments toward King Diamond are the same as his.

Yep, should have been called "King Diamond sux...no he doesn't"

King's vox are the dictionary definition of "an acquired taste," that's for sure. I can understand why you don't dig'em though, Jarred. He's no Marq Torien, after all.

So I guess we've all been absolutely no help in finding out who covered "Welcome to the Machine" for KING, have we?

    • It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.
    • Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
    • Just ordered!   All three Magic Dance EPs (Another World, Kiss Scene and Haunting Me) combined into one CD. All new artwork, lyric booklet and three bonus tracks. Silver-pressed replication CD.     https://magicdance.bandcamp.com/album/magic-dance-the-eps
    • Stumbled upon these guys on the Instagrams. Pretty good mix of Modern Rock and Metal with blazing guitars and heavy double-bass drums, and Pop Punk-style vocals.
    • Well... I just jizzed in my pants.  I'm so glad these guys aren't a one-and-done act. Looking forward to much more music, hopefully.
    • Great album upon first few spins..I mean how good/catchy is the track "Lets Go Rent A Video" especially for those of us who actually remember doing that lol
