  1. I really dig the song itself, the music and vibe of the tune but I'm just struggling with Strandell's vocals....not sure if it's the tone, accent or what. But something has just soured me on him. Basically the same problem I had with the debut.
  2. Have heard this album....I feel like it's pretty much what you'd expect from these guys. For me, the first half is pretty decent. I'm not sure I care all that much for "High" but San Quentin, Skinny Little Missy and Vegas Bomb are some catchy rock tunes that kind of remind me of Dark Horse album style tunes. And I'm good with Those Days as I dig the whole throwback vibe and lyrics. For me, the second half isn't as good as the first half as it gets pretty ballad & mid tempo heavy and it kind of saps the life out of the album. I'd have really liked to see a couple more banging rockers in the second half. Overall, it's okay though if you've liked these guys formula in the past. There's not doubt though they basically mostly keep doing the same types of songs over and over lol.
  3. Sounds pretty good but I'm not sure I'm overly excited about the song or this release. I liked their debut when it dropped but honestly I never have any desire to go back to it now and guess it just didn't age very well for me....not really sure why but I think I only have maybe 1 or 2 songs from it in my main playlist. Still will keep eyes on this though and probably give it a listen when it drops.
  4. Trixter is a big one for me. Always dug their stuff and they still seem capable of putting out good music based on the last couple albums. They'd also be a fun band to see touring around the US with bands like Warrant, Skid Row, Firehouse, etc and/or playing festivals. Wildside and Shotgun Messiah are a couple others I dug back in the day but the chances seem like zero of anything happening there and I'm not sure they could put out anything exciting even if it did happen.
  5. I still love to go. Although, I do have to say I'm starting to skip some shows I might've went to just because I've been saturated on certain bands and if they aren't bringing anything new to the table, there's no point in going. For example, Firehouse played about 30 minutes from me a couple months ago. I dig Firehouse but I've seen them plenty and they have no new music so it's basically the same show over and over. They still sound great and put on a good show, but I don't need to see it again. Warrant is another band that played near me recently and skipped that also. I've seen them plenty of times over the years and it's always the same thing. I still enjoy going though. I'll still try to hit some festivals or shows if the lineup intrigues me enough.
  6. Did the Monsters of Rock Cruise in 2020, which was my first one. I thought it was amazing and don't think i can ever do a "normal" cruise again lol. It was just awesome having concerts from about noon until past midnight every day. The draw for me though was really to see some of the Euro bands that are next to impossible to see here in the USA otherwise due to our annoying visa laws. Apparently they're able to avoid the rules by playing on the cruise since it's not US soil. It was pretty cool being able to brush elbows with many of the bands hanging throughout the ship and at least from my experience, everybody I approached was very welcoming and happy to chat or snap a photo or whatever. It's pretty cool to know you're around so many people with like minded tastes. It's expensive but definitely worth doing at least once. I'm hopeful to do another at some point.
  7. You might be right..... But at the same time, this band kept basically going unnoticed with those guys. My guess is these guys want to try and recapture that past glory and prove they can be something without Bach. And it was never happening with any of the previous singers they've had and they knew it. Heck, Johnny was there 15 years so wasn't like they didn't try with him. And listening to this new album, it's easy to hear why ZP wouldn't work. His voice just wouldn't sell this material the way Erik's is. I guess time will tell. If they do one or two albums with Erik and move on again, well...then....I'll be lining right up with you and calling these guys every name in the book
  8. Might be true... But, it seems to me that Snake and Bolan have matured over the years. I mean, I've seen plenty of recent interviews and they're giving all the praise for the new album to their producer and to Erik and both guys have sounded very humble. I'll admit, it kind of surprises me as my perception over the years was that they all were toxic personalities. And they all very well might have been, I don't know. I'm just going on what I've seen recently with those guys as I honestly didn't pay much attention to the past 25 years as there was nothing much to pay attention to. That said though, I've seen some fairly recent stuff with Bach and he still seems like a twat who thinks he's still a rockstar king when he's done nothing of significance for the past 25 years....unless acting on Gilmore Girls counts lol. At the end of the day, none of the outside stuff matters to me as I don't know any of these guys. Bach might be the nicest guy in the world for all I really know. All I know is I'm enjoying the new album and thought they kicked ass live when I saw them last month
  9. Interesting watch. One thing though....Bach was what, 20-21 years old in most of those videos and Erik is 34 with a lot of his videos being from his first shows in Vegas coming after a 2 year layoff, cancer and never really having performed those songs live before. Not sure what impact that has but I'd have liked to see him at least finding videos of Bach around 35 years of age doing those songs in his solo shows in instead of using footage from the late 80s/early 90's when him and the band were smack in their prime and full of energy. And it says nothing about how much of a tool Bach was/is and that his ego was/is the size of Texas lol. But sill interesting comparison. Bach was good and the dude had pipes, no question. But Erik's pretty darn good too IMO
  10. Was going to say the same thing. Music is fickle...I liked the new Def Leppard a lot myself Some don't care for the new Skid Row but I freaking love it. It's the way it goes....Different things click for different people for different reasons. I do agree with the sentiment though is that everything can't be good and definitely agree with the whole participation trophy sentiment today lol. But I'd suppose though that most people only want to generally take the time to post videos and review things that they actually enjoy (or that they thought they might enjoy) so it leads to more positive stuff than negative reactions and can lead to feeling like they think everything is good. I haven't watched all that many from Snyder but I've watched a bunch of videos from that Iridium. I'd say probably 8 or 9 times out of 10 he loves whatever he's listening to but he occasionally has some stuff he doesn't care much for. When he does though, I feel like he usually does a good job saying why or what he was looking/hoping for. At the end of the day, I guess it's not too much different than written reviews. I just use it all to try and find some new stuff and after while you figure out reviewer's tastes and how they might align with yours in general.
  11. Nothing makes the Bach lovers happy lol! It just kills me constantly seeing the comments on social media. I mean, have these people even heard Bach sing within the past year or two? If you ask me, Bach and Vince Neil would be a good sing off. And we know the dude has the mentality of a 5 year old kid and an ego the size of Texas. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed those first couple albums. But why these people refuse to wake up and smell the coffee after 25 years is beyond me. They all sound like pouting little kids...."No Bach, no Skid Row....blah....blah" lol. I have to laugh as the majority of those truthers aren't even aware Bach wasn't the original singer in the band lol.
  12. I liked the first album at the time but I also I have to say I never go back to it. I'll probably check this one out though.
  13. Probably a pass from me. Excellent music but I just don't like Strandell.
  14. Agree with you. I'm interested to see where the next album goes. I feel like they gained some steam with tunes like Hail to the Heroes, Lover's Train, Clearing the Blur and Love's Damnation....All excellent tunes. On the flip side though, the rest of the last album fell fairly flat for me. I guess I really don't like them when they get too heavy and the singer is screaming too much. When he reels it in though and they juice up their melodic side, they get pretty good...at least for me. Will be curious to see where this goes. I'm sort of sitting square on the fence with these guys at the moment and feel like this next album will probably determine which side I fall on.
  15. Did you make it to October Song? I'm not much for ballads these days and also not generally into 7 minute songs...but I dig this tune.
  16. New album pre-listening currently playing here. Looks like it was removed after it ended and I haven't noticed that it's available for re-watch. Will update post if I see it.
  17. Update for 2022 as of now for me: 1. Kissin' Dynamite - Not The End of The Road 2. Skid Row - Gang's All Here 3. Def Leppard - Diamond Star Halos 4. Crashdiet - Automaton 5. H.E.A.T - Force Majure Honorable mention - Degreed, Black Swan, Thundermother, Ronnie Atkins Not sure I see much else coming that will change things for me although the order above could change as I spend a little more time with Skid Row. It's really feeling like a coin flip between that and KD for me. I might try to sample some stuff that I've missed or not given much time to though.
  18. They're stuff has been about 50/50 for me. On their debut, I basically liked the first half of the album that had more of a rocking feel to it and didn't care for most of the second half that had a lot of country-ish slower songs that reminded me too much of modern Bon Jovi. Anyways, this this song fits into the rocking category for me and sounds good to my ears.
  19. Same here. They sometimes can get a little too cheesy with some of their ballads but I like this one. Might as well also toss the first single in this thread. I dig this tune too.
  20. Just wanted to say for me the new album is fantastic! Erik sounds phenomenal and I guess for me it's just a fun melodic hard rock album. Yeah, I know I'm an Erik fanboy so that's probably part of it. But it's hitting my tastes well. I think I basically agree with this review:
  21. Bummer. Not so much for the drumming per se but Pete is a fantastic overall musician and it seems to reason his talents will really be missed on the production and creating side of things.
  22. Hey...that's my video 😀 My favorite part is about 1 minute into the video when Erik recognizes me, points and gives me a fist bump. Was a fun show!
  23. These new songs are really doing very little for me. On one hand the videos are fun to watch in a soft porn type of way lol. But on the other hand it's pretty cheesy too and almost sad they're trying so hard to kind of sex Chez up. It's like they're trying to make her Madonna or something. Either way, the music is a pass for me.
  24. Well....we can agree on that! Might be my favorite song on the album
