  1. Same here. Really been a slow start. I've bought nothing this year so far and my 2023 playlist is basically just singles that have been released outside of the Gunshine EP. I've mostly just been going back to older stuff this year. Lots of good stuff coming though that I plan on checking out like Winger, Extreme, Heavens Edge, Defiants, Midnite City, Degreed, Buckcherry and maybe later in the year we'll get Temple Balls, Eclipse and some other surprises.
  2. EP isn't too bad. 90 Proof is a solid start then the Swing Away and Checkmate are probably my early favorites. I like the groove of Checkmate. The last couple songs lose me a little bit...the last song is just too long at nearly 9 minutes. Few tunes I'll be adding into my playlist though
  3. Nice surprise! Wasn't really expecting a new album so soon from these guys. Cool tune. It's heavier than probably anything on the last album but still hooks me in the way it kind of lightens up a bit for the chorus. 2023 is finally starting to pick up some steam with some good releases coming in the next couple months.
  4. Agree. It was one I was turned onto here very late last year and have found myself going back. I just dig the whole early Dangerous Toys mixed with Tora Tora type thing they have going and they sound a bit unique to me at least compared to the other stuff I'm usually listening to. They definitely still feel like a band that's flying under the radar. Well, I know most of the bands we talk about are flying under the radar lol but they're flying even lower than most
  5. These guys have a new EP coming out on 4/28 for anyone interested in checking it out. I've been digging what these guys have been doing so curious to check this out. Here was the first song released from it:
  6. New Defiants tune. Don't think it's available everywhere yet but is watchable from some parts of the world (or if you have a VPN). Think it officially drops everywhere tomorrow. Really digging this tune. Definitely a top-down, summer vibe to this one that kind of reminds me a bit of Take Me Back from the debut.
  7. Agree. For me, not as good as Rise but still okay. And it's pretty cool they blast out 2 new tunes at once which is a nice surprise. I've never been big into Extreme outside their big hits but plan on checking out the new album.
  8. Yeah, agree. I think I saw in an interview with Mark that a lot of these songs have been kicking around for some time. Little curious to me that they came out with two mid tempo type songs in a row as singles but both good songs. Listening to the album samples it sounds like there are plenty of up tempo songs on the album. I'm not sure I'm really expecting all that much from the album but will give it a shot when it drops. Either way though, it's already better than the Roxy Blue album lol.
  9. For me it was the opposite. I've spent some time recently going back to both of their albums and for me the debut has aged better than the 2nd album. I guess for me the debut just holds my attention better throughout and just feel like it has more variety and more interesting songs. The second one starts out great with the first 5 songs but kind of loses me a bit in the second half. Both are still good though and the new one is really sounding good to me from the samples.
  10. This one isn't doing much for me. Admittedly though, I've just been a very casual Winger fan at best. I liked a lot of their earlier stuff and their big hits but the later stuff hasn't seemed to grab me very much for whatever reason. For me, this song takes too long to get going, isn't that catchy and kind of just loses my attention being so drawn out.
  11. Checked them out and agree! Sounding fantastic and the overall vibe feels closer to the debut to me. I'm buying very few CD's these days as I only really buy them for the heck of it to support artists as I don't even listen to them as they basically just collect dust. I might have to pick this one up though.
  12. Been a horrible start to 2023 for me. No albums added to my 2023 playlist so far and have only added a handful of singles that have dropped. I don't expect things to start picking up for me until May/June. Stuff like Heavens Edge, Extreme, Midnite City, The Defiants & Temple Balls are on my radar. Hopefully Eclipse and Crazy lixx might have something out before the end of the year also.
  13. Solid tune and seems like a nice, rocking song to kick off the album.
  14. Okay song but the chorus is probably my least favorite part of the song. That opening feels a bit out of place too. It's okay for me overall though. It kind of reminds me a little bit of Paramount from the last album. I think I like this song better than that. I saw Erik say on Facebook that this song has been kicking around awhile and was written around the Tearing Down the Walls era. He said he sang on a demo of this song at one point.
  15. Agree. I'd probably buy this if it were on CD but really not interested in vinyl. I only have a couple vinyls and they're only for display purposes as they're both signed. I don't even own a record player as to me vinyl is just mostly annoying to deal with and would take up too much space. I've toyed with possibly getting a record player just for the novelty of it but I really don't want to go there as then I'd probably end up wasting a bunch of money tracking down albums on vinyl. I'd think that artist would want to put their stuff out on every format that people would buy.
  16. Good news. However, can't say I'm very interested in an album of re-mixes and re-records. It does mention some unreleased/new material though so that could make it a bit more interesting.

    Baseball 2022

Ohtani is amazing....no doubt. He's easily the most enjoyable guy to watch play today IMO and Japan deserved the victory. But the US roster left a lot to be desired and wasn't the best lineup the US could've put on the field. Basically, Japan lives for this sort of thing but I don't think most in the US even care which is why many of the best players opt out. The final game wasn't even broadcast on a major TV network here which basically illustrates the point. I had to search around my TV listings to eventually find it buried way down on some FS1 channel I hardly ever watch lol. Not trying to diminish Japans well deserved accomplishment. Just stating that I don't think this event is a very big deal in the US.
  18. I read an interview somewhere that said they used original vocal tracks for some of it and also recorded some new vocals for parts also. My guess is most of the main vocals are probably the original tracks and they just mixed in some new vocals in spots that might've needed it.
  19. Big Leppard fan and they've been my favorite band for 40 years.... But this is a huge no from me. To me this pales in comparison to the original version of the song and feels pretty pointless. I'd guess the orchestration might work better for me with some of the ballads that are on the tracklist. But this will be a pass for me similar to the YEAH album. I don't want to hear them doing covers and don't want to hear them sounding like a Broadway production.
