ALL 4 1 (Brock/Phil/Berry/Starr) - The World's Best Hope
mrbandwidth replied to Stefan's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
Oh you're right. I didn't notice that. No problem bro, in fact all the press material at the first page (even the first video published there) says "All 41". Well, at least now it's clarified. -

Ahhhh, it's "All 4 1" (All For One); how important could be a blank, damn. -

Kee Of Hearts (Kee Marcello/Tommy Heart) - s/t

But every band is a project. Thought it was 'Penis'... -
Get my penis... out of my ears? You serious? But then where on earth would it go? I don't understand this penis-not-in-the-ear thing you're suggesting? You baffle me sometimes, man. That said, these guys still suck. I'm with you on this one, mate (but *not* with your penis, eh!). Can't hear what everybody praises in this one so much. My loss, of course.

Ratings thus far (2017 Edition)
mrbandwidth replied to AlphaMale's topic in General Music Discussion
a very sensible choice for most of AOR/HR fans, i think Jim's new album should be out of top 20, a good one but hard to compete with the rest. Lionville is much, much better than Brother Firetribe, imo. Did I mention much? (as is Vain) The other four are the same for me too, though. And Confess too. How'd I miss that one? I think I actually just thought it was in the list. But yeah, I prefer Confess to Lionville and Brother Firetribe... but yeah, I agree, Harem Scarem has pushed out Confess from the top 5. Hi mate, I can understand your Lionville's statement but I don't really get what's about that Confess thing to be honest... I tried and tried and tried and does nothing for me, sorry. I presume most of you like it so much because of lyrics? As I don't have english as first language I tend to neglect lyrics a bit. Else is a total mystery to me. Anyway, as we agree on Harem Scarem, the universe is in order again. -

Well, let's hope for the best, though Alexander did a great job indeed. But have high expectations being Jidhed's son. BTW, also noticed that: Andree Theander rhythm guitar (from Theander Expression) Was he only hired or is regular part of the band?

Totally agree, I'm sick of internet 'reviews' by so-called 'professionals' without nearly any criticism. This warrants some criticism as well imo. Not a huge amount, but some.............. Well, I said 'without nearly any criticism' actually. But in fact wasn't referring about that one specifically, but in general. I've finally concluded not trusting reviews at all.

Thanks, checking samples... Cheers mrbandwidth. You will let me know your opinion (good or bad) won't you? Sure, but first they have a new video: And about my opinion, here it is: well it's difficult to judge only by samples (except the 2 full tracks) but I notice a quite different style from their previous album Silk Under The Skin (1990), which was basically the typical Melodic Hard Rock style of 80's era; this one is heavier in instruments and slower in tempo, certainly I checked the real duration of the tracks by searching in google and are beyond 5 minutes in nearly all of them (and one of 12 mins). The good points are that is different to most albums of modern MHR out there, the vocal choruses, and songwriting is more mature than their previous; the bad that most of the songs don't seem very catchy. The tracks/samples that I liked most are One Lifetime, Nobody Fills The Loneliness, Chimera, and The Borders Of Light (though this one being 12 minutes, I don't know how it would be complete).

Very nice from Rexon to write those comments, thanks a lot for sharing mate, tts. Interesting indeed. Now, wouldn't be awesome if all bands put their feelings/facts about their songs like this in the CD's together with the lyrics? (I know it's utopic, as in fact lots of bands don't even put the lyrics nowadays so... Oh, well).

Track list of the year
mrbandwidth replied to mrbandwidth's topic in Music Polls and "Best of" Lists
Yeah mate, neither Magnus Karlsson's Freefall nor Reckless Love also, which have good ones too; but there are only 12 positions so I had to choose. I admit 2013 has been the most difficult of all lists, even more than 2014. -
Track list of the year
mrbandwidth replied to mrbandwidth's topic in Music Polls and "Best of" Lists
Argggg, I've noticed a mistake, sorry: the Richie Sambora album is from 2012 (because its bonus tracks were certainly released on 2013 was being showed within my 2013 albums...). Then the last track of 2013 would be: 12. The Theander Expression - Insanity Cell So we started 'Road to Nowhere' and we finish in an 'Insanity Cell', oh well... More realistic indeed.
