  1. Make sure Stefan finds your balls first.....
  2. Yep. Definitely hear Journey in there.
  3. A poll to see who you think were the top dogs of the Christian hard rock or metal genres. Your vote counts!!
  4. This disappoints me: John Allen – Lead Vocal Ted Merrill- Guitar Jason Heiser – Drums Rick Reynolds - Bass Where's my boys Anthony Arambula (bass) and Victor Karrera (guitar), City Fixx alumni?? Very disappointing that these guys are gone. WTF.
  5. This sure isn't the same Shark Island as the excellent "Law Of The Order".
  6. from various internet sources: Norwegian rocker AGE STEN NILSEN is releasing his fifth solo album “Crossing The Rubicon”, entirely sung in English. Best known for his melodic hard rocking bands Ammunition, and years ago Wig Wam. The album is properly titled – the expression means a risky step ahead – as Nilsen go here for his love of Classic Rock, happy-pop with the ’60s spirit, campfire-like songs with non traditional instruments, and some rock tunes, of course. To be honest, we at this blog didn’t like Nilsen’s previous solo album, acoustically based and with some lyrics in his native language. “Crossing The Rubicon”, while not the regular hard / melodic rock featured here, it’s a joyful, gentle recording. Nilsen starts the record with ‘Ease My Closure’, a piano ballad. Since the start, a brave move, as this type of songs are usually placed at the on of a CD. It’s a very good, emotional ballad, showcasing the singer’s vocal colors. ‘Crossing The Rubicon’ is a rocker with cool classic rock guitars and organ runs, ‘Ghost on the Wall’ adds a Celtic touch yet in uptempo mode, while ‘A Love Like Our’ brings to mind Donnie Vie last solo album. In fact, the overall atmosphere in this album reminds me of Donnie Vie indeed. ‘Into the Great Unknown’ is one of the highlights here, an extremely melodic song with some ELO / Jeff Lynne on it, and the chorus is irresistible. Personal, organic, classic rock oriented, “Crossing The Rubicon” shows the other side of Åge Sten Nilsen, a much more wider and interesting artist than just a melodic hard rock pony. The album is highly enjoyable from start to finish, with songs around the 3 minute mark, all melodic and well recorded / produced. Highly Recommended Tracklist: 01 – Ease My Closure 02 – Crossing the Rubicon 03 – Ghost on the Wall 04 – A Love Like Our 05 – Into the Great Unknown 06 – Baby Don’t Be Leave 07 – Need Him Now 08 – Fire Meets Fire 09 – Jupiter and Venus 10 – House on Fire 11 – What’s My Name 12 – One of You Own BUY IT www.bookspot.nl/muziek/crossing-the-rubicon-age-sten-nilsen-7033662046331
  7. Me too. And tbh, none of these new songs are even close to the excellence of Pandemonium and Motherland.
  8. Like most of the threads here. If it's not the flavor of the month band, it gets ignored completely.
  9. He's kinda got the Joe Leste thing vocally. Musically, killer!
  10. from various internet sources: Sounding like a 1987 band out of the Sunset Strip but hailing from Norway, SUICIDE BOMBERS are releasing their new CD “Murder Couture”. This is specifically ’80s sleazy hard rock. And very well done. Some of you may be old enough to remember when Faster Pussycat emerged with their debut album. Or even before, the first two Motley albums. Fast forward thirty five and Suicide Bombers have totally captured the same vibe. “Murder Couture” leads off with the same type of swagger-infused intro as our costumed heroes. You may smile at the audacity, but you brace yourself for disappointment. Then the plucky opening riff kicks in and a cascade of cleanly executed US sleazy unfurls that’ll have you reaching for a clockwise twist of the volume knob. “So Bad”, “Love Disasters”, “End Of The Story” and “Sleepless Elite” are just as killer as opening title track, loaded with high energy riffs and sing along lyrics mixed to maximize the impact of all the band members. Simple, catchy and confident. This is what you want from an ’80s inspired Glam Metal / Sleazy band. This recording isn’t tentative. It announces you will have a good time and defies you to feel any other way. Even the lone ballad “Worlds Without End” is loaded with grit and punch. If you miss the true sound of an era, Suicide Bombers brings it back to you from the other side of the ocean. “Murder Couture” is a juggernaut. Sure, there’s not much bands playing this sub-genre nowadays, so the Bombers are among the best, if not the best at it. Turn it up at your next party or listen to it by yourself. Either way it will brighten your day. Tracklist: 01 – Intro: The Murder Couture Suite 02 – Murder Couture 03 – Kings & Queens 04 – So Bad 05 – Love Disasters 06 – Night That Never Ends 07 – We Don’t Negotiate With Terrorists 08 – End Of The Story 09 – Worlds Without End 10 – Sleepless Elite 11 – Madman 12 – Outro:…#overandmotherfuckingout Chris Damien Doll ‘The Sleazy Fuhrer’ (Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar) Stevie Teaze ‘The Sex Toy ‘ (Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals) C. Slim ‘The Thunder Mechanic’ (Bass and Backing Vocals) – Lyle Starr ‘The Beat Commando’ (Drums) BUY IT www.tigernet.no/item/154220–suicide-bombers–murder-couture–cd
  11. Not bad. I hear the D2 Ted in this.
  12. Agreed. Very disappointing. The few Dynazty type tracks are probably the best of the bunch but I am not really liking this disc at all. I want the debut band back pronto!
  13. Sure does. What an insanely weak year.
