  1. Hey All, was looking at checking out the Rock of Ages musical which is now playing in Melbourne. Anyone seen it here in Aus or the US? Is it worthwhile? For the missus and I to go it will be around $300 so I want to be sure coz that could buy a lot of CDs
  2. This one sliped under my radar. Listened to it twice when I got it and not much stuck, kind of the opposite to all of their other CDs in that regard. Not saying it's crap, I have no idea yet.
  3. I've bought one CD from him and had no issue. He probably has more copies, I get a heap of 2nd chance offers and they've never been bootlegs. Best to double check and scan through his feedback to make sure.
  4. Both great songs, no need to choose. It does make me wonder what happened to Von Groove, that CD was killer and they got really boring after it???
  5. Love them both buT I have to go with Age, nothing to do with this video but coz his solo album from 08 or 09 is amazing and he's so versatile. A must for anyone who likes rock, pop, Queen.
  6. Yeah grab the re-released deluxe edition... It has both versions. I am a huge Sykes fan but all he does is some overdibs on 5 or so songs. The original is actually better IMO. That said no hard rock CD compares with 1987
  7. I just checked my collection and I actually have that English version 2CD best of. Must have bought it at a busy time Anyway if you want some 'samples' send me a PM. Cheers.
  8. Like X Japan they have a mix of Japanese and English lyrics. Lucky for you, if you dig the music the best of compilation that came out last year also come out in an English version (I think): http://metal-archives.com/release.php?id=280594 This one from 2009 is definitely in English, is pricey though: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SEIKIMA-II-Akuma-Nativity-English-Ver-JAPAN-CD-09-Best-/160508563375?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item255f0e4faf Cheers, John
  9. This is one of my fav bands of all time. That's why I have the lead singer Demon Kogure as my avatar They've been around since the early 80s and they pretend to be some demon cult or something and sang about the end of the world at 2000. So after 12 years and at New Years Eve 1999 they split up. They do continue to reform and play shows and recently had a 25th anniversary celebration. If you like dual guitar harmonies, hard rock/tinged with a bit of metal, quite a bit of atmosphere then you need to check these guys out. Along with X Japan they are in my mind the 2 best metal/rock bands to come out of Japan. Best yet you only need to get 2CDs to fully enjoy this band. They are Black List and Blood List, both released in 1999. Both are newly re-recorded version of their best songs, one on the Atlantic label and the other on Sony. There was also a greatest hits released last year but I don't know anything about it. Check out these songs and be impressed 1999 Secret Object - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAukEo9P7E8&feature=related Masquerade - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOaVvmNHIO0&feature=related Stainless Night - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bZI4JY-gtM&feature=related El Dorado - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t23KqfnHxw&feature=fvsr Quite a diverse band and well worth checking out!
  10. I never heard Candy Harlots with the original singer and would love to hear the demos. Apparently they recorded an album in 1989 with him. Got this from his site: CANDY HARLOTS IM A LOVER IM A SLUT PD023 this is the album that was recorded in 1989 and never released, along with the two singles red hot rocket 1988, and danger 1989,and the unreleased single take me or leave me 1990, plus 3 live tracks, which in my opinion are the best live recordings of the band ! line up: mark easton: vocals, tony cardinal: drums, leeno dee: bass, ron barrett: guitar, marc dehugar: guitar, *phil bowley: guitar 1. red hot rocket 2. when will i know 3. danger 4. wrap 2 arms 5. wildest way 6. she shines 7. love rebel 8. in the movies 9. need your lovin 10. cant we just sleep together 11. hey little girl 12. give it up 13. overnight sensation 14. sex crazy 15. hot dog 16. take me or leave me 17. love struck burning heart 18. open your eyes 19. i want you 20. fantasies 21. shine on 22. crazy bout you* 23. where no one dares* 24. take me or leave me* 25. do you wanna touch (live) 26. i like it both ways (live) 27. im a lover im a slut (live) Set to be released next month. Can anyone help me out with the Five Wicked Way demos?
  11. 5150 is pure awesomeness!!! How can anyone hate Van Halen... shame
  12. Manic Frustration is one of my fave CDs ever and S/T 1990 is also great.
  13. OK, so the title is misleading, I have no idea if a reissue is in the works but I have noticed that the org press is selling for way more than the avg price listed on HH and that the band played with Aiz Lynch again not that long ago. This is definitely the best sleaze glam CD to come out of Australia and I was lucky enough to pick up some singles a while back from a great Aussie guy here on the board. The bonus tracks on these singles are awesome and when you add in the excellent 'Foreplay' EP which in my mind has better versions of some of the tracks on the final release eg. Danger, you have an awesome 2CD reissue which would strip the lipstick on most of the reissues found these days. The 2nd CD tracklist could be as follows: 1. Hot Love Child (Danger CDS) 2. The Lady Shakes (Foreplay EP) 3. Backstreet Boys (Foreplay EP) 4. I'm Not Like Everybody Else (Foreplay EP) 5. Danger (Foreplay EP) 6. My Hell (What Are We Fighting For CDS) 7. Get A Life (What Are We Fighting For CDS) 8. The Harlot Shuffle (What Are We Fighting For CDS) 9. Can I Sit Next To You Girl (Sisters Crazy CDS) 10. Pathetic - Harlot Shit Chat (Sisters Crazy CDS)
  14. oh no please.... living through 80s radio and back to the future was painful... not the movie itself u couldn't escape those monotonous samey songs that got played to death.
  15. Ditto, thanks Justin. Look forward to the next one.
  16. Thanks Dave, anytime. Looking forward to the next one
  17. For anyone interested shipping international is $5 a CD, $10 for 3.... I think. CDbaby has previews if you're interested in hearing what the reissue sounds like. Cheers.
  18. Agreed, won't be the same but I would have followed them if they started a new band anyway. As long as they make more music I say...... RIP Steve
  19. Have had this CD for a couple of weeks and I am speechless. It's not often I get knocked off my feet by straight ahead metal releases coz I'm more of a hard rock guy. Like the first Hibria CD this has sucked the marrow from my bones and I have no idea why more people aren't talking about it. The guys have a video here: Do yourself a favour, the songs are a real nice mix and the band know how to slow it down, pump out the riffs, build it up, rip into awesome lead breaks, dual guitar harmonies and the singer has had a massive bagpipe inserted into his lungs and can really let rip. It's also nice to see these guys are from the US and playing this style of music. Awesome...... fffffffffffffffwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr fuck yeah!!! John
  20. Have done some quick looking around and cdwow.com.au are selling them for $18.95 plus free shipping. Better yet all CDs are $1.50 off today so if you order before midnight you can get them for $17.45 each.
  21. I personally don't mind a good reissue, but hate many others (eg. the Bonfire reissues by YesterRock were awful). I really dug the Lillian Axe, Crimson Glory, Elegy reissues on Metal Mind and today they are releasing 3 of the 4 Warlock CDs. Anyone interested in getting these? Buying from the site itself seems quite expensive, as does the shipping so I might be getting it from Georg at AOR Heaven.
  22. email matt (brutalplanet@gmail.com) and he will be happy to help you. He is a stand-up guy. Thanks, will do. Cheers
  23. Hi all, Was wondering if anyone has bought from here: http://retroactiverecords.net/index.html I plan to get the Bride reissues. Obviously the site is still in the works but you can click to buy the CDs and then pay through paypal. I was wondering if anyone has and what their experience was like. Also, when going through paypal it doesn't add any cost for shipping, do they offer free worldwide shipping? Info is so light on, no mention of shipping cost and the contact section has no contact details that I'm a little reluctant to place an order. Cheers, John
