  1. Check out the Japanese Ad for this album. If this doesn't get you pumped nothing will http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFjxmERKko8 The full video is on the AnimetalUSA site and also on Sleazroxx. Worth checking out and adding it to the cheesiest metal video section.
  2. I may be in the minority, and given my taste and the extreme cheese of this album I still love it! Good pick up
  3. I'm not much of a Hardcore Superstar fan after owning 3 or so CDs and have stopped following them. However this popped up in the release schedule and I was wondering what people though of the tracklist. The first song is a new track. 1. WE DON`T NEED A CURE 2. WE DON`T CELEBRATE SUNDAYS 3. MOONSHINE 4. MY GOOD REPUTATION 5. WILD BOYS 6. SOMEONE SPECIAL 7. DREAMIN` IN A CASKET 8. INTO DEBAUCHERY 9. HERE COMES THAT SICK BITCH 10. LAST CALL FOR ALCOHOL 11. BEG FOR IT 12. LIBERATION 13. BASTARDS 14. MEDICATE ME 15. STANDIN` ON THE VERGE 16. STILL I`M GLAD 17. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND 18. SHAME 19. HONEY TONGUE 20. RUN TO YOUR MAMA
  4. Whilst I really loved the first 2 Screaming Jets CDs these rest didn't do much for me. That said, seeing this poster made me think it was 20 years ago!!! "Some of the biggest names in Australian music will unite and reunite to support the family of ZORAN ROMIC, founding member and lead guitarist of chart topping Aussie band, Chocolate Starfish, for an exclusive benefit concert to be held at The Trak Lounge, Toorak in Melbourne on TUESDAY 11TH OCTOBER, 2011. The Trak Lounge will host a sensational line-up of Australian pop and rock acts from the 80's and 90's, all of whom are banding together to support Zoran Romic ("Zoz"), who is presently undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. SCREAMING JETS, THE MODELS, BOOM CRASH OPERA, PSEUDO ECHO, THE BADLOVES, BILLY MILLER (THE FERRETS) and of course - CHOCOLATE STARFISH, plus more special guests, will be appearing live on stage from 7.30pm. The event will be hosted by JAMES O'NEIL. Zoran, the original and only guitarist in the band, was an integral part of Chocolate Starfish, one of Australia's biggest live acts from the 90's. Chocolate Starfish burst on to the charts in 1993 with their classic cover of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain", and followed it up with a string of original hits including "Mountain", "Four Letter Word" and "Accidently Cool". Chocolate Starfish achieved two Top 20 albums and six Top 50 singles on the national ustralian charts. The band's self-titled debut album released in 1994, spent two months in the Top 10, peaked at No. 2 and became the year's biggest selling Australian debut. Zoran and fellow Starfish band member, drummer Darren Danielson, now run the FUR Group - a management, recording and touring company. From this stable, some of the best loved Australian acts who shared the punters, venues, and highways with the Starfish back in the day, have joined forces once more to support the Romic family and to help Zoran celebrate his birthday in style on Tuesday 11th October. There will be an amazing selection of special items available for auction on the night, including signed guitars and concert tickets. ONE NIGHT IN OCTOBER - A CONCERT FOR ZOZ TUESDAY 11TH OCTOBER FROM 7.30PM TRAK LOUNGE, 445 TOORAK ROAD, TOORAK
  5. Some great pics. I saw Alice on his Trash Tour which was great, the band were awesome but he sounded tired vocally. Still he is still rocking, bless him. Pity they didn't play more Trash songs but I guess it's hard with such a huge pile of material. Rage showed a few of his clips on Saturday night, gotta love Poison uncut!
  6. Hell yeah, thought it was great. Good to have something a little different.
  7. Great find, thanks for sharing!
  8. Cool song, what was the rest of the album like?
  9. What a wanker. I hope I can still enjoy the CDs coz I can no longer watch Pulp Fiction after seeing Tarantino introduce it on the special edition dvd years back. Just in case I won't be checking this post anymore in case he has updates
  10. For fans of Alice and maybe a decent tunes on Rage for a change. From the ABC: "Be afraid... Heavy metal rock legend Alice Cooper guest programs rage this weekend! Make sure black eyeliner, leather pants and fake blood are at hand as the ultimate rock showman Alice Cooper takes us through his favourite clips. It’s going to be one kooky and enjoyable ride as Alice tells some great stories about his favourite tunes. With a selection including The White Stripes, Devo, Faith No More, Cream, Jet, MC5, Frank Zappa, Garbage, The Knack and loads more! It’s a legendary rage that you can’t afford to miss! And to top it off, following Alice’s picks we will have a KISS special, playing some of their best tunes. Alice Cooper is on rage from 10:00am Saturday morning on ABC1 then catch the full show from 11:40pm on Saturday night."
  11. Wow, we are all so different. I agree this is a good CD with a killer middle section and probably rates in the very low 80s. However, I really felt the debut was better, maybe it was that they were breath of fresh air and a little different at the time. Also, the best songs on the debut are better than the best songs on AA IMO. I'm concerned that in months and years to come when I feel like some Reckless Love this one will get overlooked unless I do a compilation.
  12. SwedenRules is a tosser. I won 3 auctions and he combined postage which was cool and offered a discount to ship without cases. Before I accepted I sent him a message about whether he protects the CDs in anyway or just throws them in the padded bag. He never replied so I paid him a 4-5 days later not knowing as the buyer I have all the power and pretty much just wanting to do the right thing. Then I get this nasty email of him accusing me of wanting it shipped for free and who do I think I am questioning him about his shipping costs and methods etc. Anyway, after a few heated emails he bans me coz I pretty much tell him to stop messaging me, the dude was nasty, arrogant... I could almost see the spit coming from his mouth and I honestly just asked a question. The CDs arrive a week or so later and sure enough there is a loose digipak and 2 loose CDs and inserts in the padded bag. The digipak is quite badly damaged (Journey's Revelation Best Buy edition), one insert is stuck to the bubble wrap and tears a little, another insert is torn at the fold. I would have paid a couple of extra bucks for the shipping. Anyway, we all have different experiences. A year later he bought a couple of CDs from me and obviously forgot everything. He questioned me about shipping prices and I pointed him to the Aus Post site so he could see that all I added was the cost of a envelope and in a pleasant way over numerous emails he told me how to do it cheaper if you're sending from the US, Germany or somewhere else.... I forget, not that I was paying much attention. You can make your own mind up about him but worth a second glance if buying a 'new' CD or having something shipped without cases. Have fun!
  13. This is the sort of stuff that happens when you get older, can't count the amount of stupid things I've done in the past couple of years!
  14. I had the CD when it was released but didn't like it much, loved the debut tho'. It was a proper silver pressed CD.
  15. His first album kicked ass, Leave this Town was terrible IMO as it just didn't have the hooks of the first CD. Fingers crossed for this one.
  16. There's a few CDs you should check out also, all are covers mixed with pop songs: Rock Sugar - Reimaginator (mashups of metal/rock and pop songs) The Black Sweden - Gold (metal/rock musical covers with Abba lyrics and melodies) The Boogie Knights - Welcome to the Jungle Boogie (Jeff Scott Soto does disco)
  17. Great selection of songs there Studboy. Have you heard the NO DOUBT cover of Come on Eileen.... awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehSgJF7BIds
  18. REALLY?!?!? Is it for real? Yep, and it kicks ass.. It's nice and fast. I think it was recorded somewhere between their 1st and 2nd album. Pity they went downhill thereafter!
  19. I pulled out the School of Rock CD today and I played the following 2 tracks about 10 times each. Both are by the band that throw Jack Black out. The first song is driving hard rock, and the other a 'sell-out' ballad but I really dig them both: Fight - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyyhvu2Ry5o&feature=related Heal Me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8SglL6tDu0&feature=related It turns out a guy named Adam Pascal sang these songs and after a quick glance at Wikipedia he's a broadway guy. Great voice. He's also working on a theatrical stage version of Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime.... cool. Anyway, I an open minded musically, don't mind a bit of broadway every now and then. Anyone got any other stuff by him and how is it?
  20. This is out tomorrow right? Anyone got it or getting it, would love to hear your thoughts. As for being asleep in the past 10 years.... nope, not me. DT can write the best songs in the world, and at other times the most boring wall of noise ever created. I'm hoping the band is rejuvenated and have something to prove and look to Symphony X for inspiration i.e. sometimes less is more
  21. I am curious coz I can't imagine what this will sound like... but I won't be putting any money aside for it.
  22. I'm with you, I was very disappointed by the first album.... maybe it was the hype? I do hope the boys have taken it up a notch and convert me.
  23. Here's a few others: All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You - Halestorm She's A Lady - Big Cock Black Betty - Electric Boys Dangerzone - Jettblack Gimme Some Lovin - Thunder Help - Johnny Lima I'll Make You Happy - Rick Springfield I'm So Excited - SunNSteel Logical Song - At Vance Love Hurts - Darren Smith Band S.O.S - At Vance Shout - At Vance Take On Me - Vision Divine The Look - Secret Sphere The Wind Beneath My Wings - Sonata Arctica What a Feeling - Ebony Ark
  24. They have a lot of new and semi-new release CDs for 8-9 GBP. Definitely worth checking out. If you are an Aussie and like your movies make sure you check out the blu rays. I grabbed the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition blu ray box set for the missus and after VAT was removed it was GBP 35 + free shipping. Compare that to AUD $120 at JB HiFi. Have been putting an order in every month for the last 6 months. The Ozzy re-releases are cheap, as are the Helloween deluxe editions, JettBlack and so on. Lots to find and just make sure it has the Free Saver shipping tag on it (most do). Remasters, deluxe editions etc. of CDs are especially cheap and go for GBP 2-5 eg. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin. Good hunting.
  25. For anyone wanting to pick up Spilt Milk or Bellybutton or has had difficulty finding them a Japanese reduced price (US $22) reissues are out on October 26th. Not sure if there is a Western reissue or not.
