  1. Absolute crap trying to blame anything on Campbell. Do you really think he has much control? Simple fact is you only have to look at Joe's side project to see why they are going in this 70s glam direction. DL has shown numerous times that they can at least partially recapture the classic sound with albums like Adrenalize, Euphoria and S/T, but they choose to do what they want, and I would put the bulk of those decisions down to Joe & Sav.
  2. Another great song, but they do seem to love that swimming pool
  3. A lot of their recent stuff has been hit or miss, but the last album (self titled) was an absolute banger, and a real return to form. Just a shame it's been 7 years since then and all they have done since is release about a 1000 compilation & live albums.
  4. Next song debuts Thurs 9am GMT
  5. SAD NEWS … Joey C. Jones of Sweet Savage fame is currently in a ‘Coma’ according to family member March 14, 2022 • Posted under: News, Reviews by Metal Sludge Tags: Dallas, Gazzarri's, Hollywood, Joey C. Jones, Joey C. Jones Metal Sludge — Sad news to report, legendary rock frontman Joey C. Jones is currently in a coma. Jones has been battling cancer for a few years now and has continued the fight. The following messages were posted on social media by his daughter Jade Jones late last week and this morning. “I will be taking over my dads phone for the time being. He is not able to call or text anymore and I’m trying my best to keep everyone updated as best as I can. Yesterday was a good day but today he is very sleepy. We are near the end and I am letting him know how loved he is. Thank you so much for loving my daddy” wrote Jones late last week. Now earlier today, a second update has been shared. “I’m sure most of you have already heard…. my daddy is in a coma he is home with me where he wanted to be. I was able to ask him Thursday if he wanted to go to a hospital or stay home and he said stay home. He is being cared for by nurses and close friends and family. He is so so loved and I will be with him until the end.” Jones is best known as the lead singer who fronted the band Sweet Savage in the mid 1980’s. Sweet Savage guitarist Chris Sheridan has shared a tweet and says he is with his friend now. “I with Joey 10+ hours/day just making sure he’s calm and comfortable. So sad to see my friend of 45 years like this, but so blessed to be with him for his final encore. Please everyone, just remember all the fun times and smiles he gave to all of us” wrote Sheridan. Metal Sludge sends our strength to Joey, Jade and the entire Jones family. http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Joey_C_Jones_Sweet_Savage_March_14_2022_POST_1.png Facebook – March 11th 2022 http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Joey_C_Jones_Sweet_Savage_March_14_2022_POST_2.png Facebook – March 14th 2022 http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Joey_C_Jones_Sweet_Savage_Chris_Sheridan_March_14_2022_1.png
  6. These two were missed but posted in Nw Horizon thread
  7. This might appeal to some here The links in the email I copied do not work as whoever sent it out did not put WWW in the link https://www.thekarmaeffect.co.uk/ Hi I hope this finds you well. May I present to you the debut album from the scintillating new classic rock band - THE KARMA EFFECT. It is released next Friday 18th March and is available for pre-order in various shapes and bundles from their website - TheKarmaEffect.co.uk If we sell enough CDs and Downloads we may just make the Official Rock Charts. Fingers crossed. NB: Vinyl lands a little later due to manufacture/pressing timelines but you can still place your order now. Thank you Peter TMR MERCY - The Karma Effect Place Your Order Here Place Your Order Here Steal Your Heart - The Karma Effect Place Your Order Here Here's what some mighty fine connoisseurs have been saying about it... This is the sort of robust, hooky rock’n’roll that any 70's throwback group ought to aspire to these days; plus it’s got a bit of a rootsy aftertaste that sets it off very nicely. And with frontman Henry Gottelier singing his heart out like a man at his last show, it would take a harder soul than us to not warm to them. Classic Rock Magazine This debut easily stand alongside the best of their peers and for me the album favourites ‘Mercy’, ’Stand’, ‘Testify’ and ‘ Save Me ‘, shout out QUALITY and TALENT RockFiend Eight songs that integrate so finely and to have such a seamless result, is something even longstanding bands would struggle to achieve. Highlights – Doubt She’s Coming Back, Save Me, Steal Your Heart 9/10 MMH Radio The London quintet are soaked in the free-flowing vibe that was born out of the psychedelic late Sixties and toughened up the following decade, the whisky dipped and loose-limbed swagger here in no uncertain terms. 8. I bought the debut album on the strength of Scott Ian (love Anthrax) and his wife, Pearl Aday (loved her solo album), but the album never really excited me. Had hoped Pearl provided more than just harmonies and backing vocals.
  9. I was watching this new video on YouTube earlier and all I was thinking was "What the hell are they singing?" While there were moments of clarity, so much of the lyrics struggle to come through due to the accent. A strong accent is not generally a band killer for me (hell I love Silked & Staineds debut) but on this it's just way too much. I would say I would prefer it if they sang in their native tongue as I have no issues with listening to bands not singing in English, but I just don't think the songs are that great anyway, and would go as far as to say they are fairly generic.
  10. Ordered their CD a week or so ago and got it this morning. So used to paying upwards of $20 US in postage to the UK these days that I was amazed they only charged me $20 Can for the CD and postage together (thats about $15.50 US) .. crazy how countries so close to each other can be so far apart in postage costs. That said, it's getting ridiculously expensive just ordering from European countries since the whole Brexit bullshit as well, with some of them charging £10+ for what used to be around £5 max). All the same, still impressed with the price these guys charged.
  11. These girls came to my attention nearly a decade ago when their YouTube video doing a cover of Enter Sandman went viral (I think they ended up doing US chat shows like Ellen on the back of it), but I kinda lost track of them and don't think they actually had a band name back then (from what I see I think at the time the band members ranged between 9 - 14 years old). I did hear about them having a band a while back but never really followed it up, but in the last few weeks I was recommended the video for Disciple by YouTube and I have been addicted to their songs (they now are 18 - 23 years old I think). Like any band I get into, I have done some research into their recording history and they have two albums already released since 2017 (although seem impossible to find on CD but available digitally most places), and the recent Mayday EP I believe is something similar to what Diamante did with her debut album, the first half of their upcoming album released digitally only. Whether they will do the same as Diamante and release another EP or just release the rest as an album only, I dunno. They are on Lava records now, so hopefully physical copies will be available and easier to get hold of.

  13. Never saw this on here before, but just had the video to the first song recommended to me by YouTube and it was an easy follow straight away. Defo doing their own thing, but while I initially heard a bit of an AC/DC vibe in the first song, once the guitar solo kicked in and I heard the second song, defo picking up a classic GNR vibe in both the guitar and vocals. Of course, just my opinion and others may hear differently, but that was enough to have me sold on them.
  14. I agree, for the most part. While I am a fan of a covers album, putting a single cover on an album is the better way to go as quite often it helps you get into a new album if you are unfamiliar with the rest of the songs. Familiarity of a song and seeing a band show their influences is never "lazy". Look at what a classic song Great Whites cover of Once bitten, twice shy or Quiet Riots - Cum on feel the noize, are. A single cover song on an album used to almost be a staple of our genre back in the 80s. You want lazy, the new habit of Japanese bonus tracks being an acoustic or piano version of a song already on the album, its lazy. A live bonus track is lazy.
  15. Latvian hard rockers Bloody Heels have released a brand new single, 'Dream Killers'. The single serves as a preview of the band's upcoming studio album, which will be released this summer via Frontiers Music Srl. 'Dream Killers' offers fans the first glimpse of the massive musical leap the band has taken on their upcoming new album from their last studio album, the well-received "Ignite The Sky". Listen on YouTube HERE: https://youtu.be/Y3LKGPMBvyM or stream/download "Dream Killers" on your preferred music service HERE: https://orcd.co/dreamkillers The upcoming album, their third overall, follows their Frontiers debut, "Ignite The Sky" (2020). The preview single, "Dream Killers" will certainly please fans of the band's previous work, where strains of classic '80s hard rock were mixed with elements of heavy metal (and is still very much the case here), but touches of progressive rock, gothic rock/metal, and more modern rock are now identifiable in the mix, with spectacular results. Stay tuned for more news on the band's upcoming album, which will be revealed in the coming weeks. Formed in 2012 in Riga, Latvia, Bloody Heels made a name for themselves with the EP 'Summer Nights' (2014) and the studio albums 'Through Mystery' (2017) and 'Ignite The Sky' (2020). They’ve played shows all around Europe including Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and the Baltic States. 16. Its classic Corabi. Not a million miles removed sonically from The Scream.
  17. Not quite sure the point of him doing solo material when it sounds very similar to EZN anyway, plus EZN is pretty much his solo project these days anyway. I mean if he wanted to do something that didn't sound like EZN, I think it's better to release that as a solo album, but will never understand people that do solo stuff that sounds the same when they are still with a band.
  18. Great singer but I agree he can be hit or miss. Still not bought the Sunbomb album yet because what I heard grated on me with regards to his vocals, and that's a shame as Tracii rips it up.
