  2. I saw an interview with her and the interviewer kept saying Chez as it is spelled.
  3. Now I like a lot of Iggy songs, but the reason that song is so great is that it was written by Alice Cooper, and sounds more Alice than Iggy. One interesting fact about this soundtrack was that Pretty Boy Floyd were supposed to be on it as well, with a cover of Deptment of youth, but were removed late in the game as they were thanked in the liner notes like all the bands. That would have been better than A Different Breed.
  4. I picked this up in the late 90s or thereabouts from Beanos (RIP) in Croydon. Had no idea who they were, but as I was browsing the rock and metal section and the album cover looked glam, I probably checked out the band pic in the booklet as well, and bought it without hesitation. Loved it from the off, and was blown away by Angel in black. A few years ago I was chatting to Ben Christo who would have been still with Night By Night at the time, and he was also a DJ at a weekly rock night club in London. We were discussing some music by lesser known bands, and he asked if I had a band or two as he had been getting requests for songs by bands he did not own (Spread Eagle - Switchblade serenade springs to mind), so I sent him a few songs he was after, and threw in a few other songs to see what he thought of them. Angel in black from Bangalore Choir became a regular on his DJ playlist, so I guess he liked that one ha ha
  5. I bought both albums about 2 years ago and to be honest, nothing stood out as amazing on either album for me. A couple of good tracks on the debut, but even they did not wow me.
  6. Niclas being in the USA has been an issue ever before the pandemic. I got the last album on CD signed by the whole band except him, and he essentially just signed a bunch of post it note sized pieces of paper and sent them to the band to sick inside the CD case.
  7. I liked both of these albums (the second one more so) but was never as big a fan of them as say Lita or Vixen (and a multitude of others). That said, Timeless Love is one of the best ballads of that era for me.
  8. Ballad? I am guessing that is a joke, as the closest song to a ballad on this was track 4, When will it rain, and even that is not a ballad.
  9. Really good album, but I think the second one is marginally better for me.
  10. Exactly. You think of all those new bands that were released from 91/92 onwards, most of them sank without a trace or tried to dip their toes into grunge/alternative (Wildside and Sven Gali). While they might be known in our circles, the general public will have never even heard of them, and their sales were not exactly setting the charts alight. 89 or maybe 90 was probably the last year for new band success, and the only bands that had any kind of success in 91/92 were established bands, then 93/94 was where it all went wrong.
  11. Bec Because it came out way too late in 1993. Grunge had already taken hold by then, and even the bigger bands were struggling by then, so a new band had no chance. Plus the label it was on wasn't exactly a big deal (and sure it was a European label, so not even sure it was ever officially released in America, just imported).
  12. I remember when the first album came out, one of the UK rock/metal mags did a write up on the band and the headline of the article was "Sons of Ratt" ... I can't remember exactly why they came up with that headline, but I do remember how much they focussed on the Autograph connection.
  13. Another band with a great debut and a "meh" second album.
  14. I always liked Winger but never loved them. The first two albums had some great songs on them but also some songs that I just thought were ok. Then this came out and I was blown away with how good it was. While albums like Kharma came close, this is easily still my fave album by the band (especially Down incognito and Junkyard dog). Only thing that would have made this better is if they could have included Battlestations as a bonus track or something, much like Kiss with God gave rock n roll to you being put on Revenge.
  15. From what I remember reading in interviews etc, Rankin was the one pushing for the more pop sound on the awful phone number album and the brothers were hugely against it, which is pretty much what lead to them splitting up. Then when they reformed, Rankin was just no longer interested in performing anymore and was working as a promoter with Mercury records for new bands based in London.
  16. From what I have seen with Collateral is pretty much a start up company, so my guess is the only way to really get their stuff is probably through their own website. Distribution is probably half arsed right now.
  17. That was down to problems with AOR Heaven... they apparently fell out with them which is why the new label.
  18. Guessing this harder edge is why the keyboard player got rid of his "Look what the cat dragged in" hair style.
  19. Sadly for me that song sounds pretty generic, with the exact same vocals as 90% of todays rock music.
  20. I would say if there were in a band that was a household name at the time of their peak, then they qualify. I mean, while Eddie and Dave were the household names, I would not say Michael Anthony not being a household name makes him any less of a supergroup contender. Same as Alec, Tico or David in Bon Jovi. A lot of people do not take time to learn band member names, but that does not make any member of the band any less famous. Not every band can be a John, Paul, George and Ringo level of everyone knowing their names.
  21. Guitarist, Alex Laiho, has passed away from a long term illness.
