  1. Man I really wish I could go to this. I wonder if White Widdow plans on visiting Brisbane sometime?
  2. Yeah I'm really looking forward to geting this one. Sounds great. You can't go wrong for $11. I'm pretty sure he is still unsigned too. I would've thought this music would sit well on any major label.

  5. Check this one out guys. The debut solo album for Gary Johnson, guitarist/keyboardist for Fran Cosmo who has worked closely with Barry Goudreau. Awesome modern melodic rock. Highly recommended. "For the better part of the last decade, Gary Johnson was the touring guitarist and keyboardist on a highly successful national tour with Fran Cosmo, former lead vocalist of the band Boston, which also often featured Barry Goudreau, Original Lead Guitarist of Boston. In this time, Gary also recorded on several discs with the group, including a critically acclaimed international release which also featured drummer Kevin Soffera (former Seether/Breaking Benjamin). Now ready to stand on his own two feet, Gary has teamed up with Kevin Soffera once again and brought on bassist Jimmy Stofer (formerly of The Fray), as well as award winning producer Justin Peacock to record his Debut Album, "Tracing Starlines with Empty Hands". The disc is currently available at http://www.gjsolo.com for just $10.99 Lots of song samples to try out here: Official website - http://www.gjsolo.com/ FaceBook - http://www.facebook.com/GaryJohnsonMusic Reverbnation - http://www.reverbnation.com/gjsolo MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/gjsolo YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/garyjohnsonmusic
  6. Haha, I see. Ignore the last PM I just sent. Another HUGE haul for me. I think I have finally got to the point where I actually have bought too many CDs to actually listen to. I will still be going through these piles well into the new year for the first listen alone... let alone trying to find time for a 2nd listen, or the rest of my collection... 7. Did anyone buy this box set. Is there anywhere you can get it for < $100 ??
  8. I have a fair few of their releases and they have donesome very good titles over the years, Angels 'Live Without A Net' (and their other stuff aswell) Judie Tzuke's 'Road Noise', Fee Waybills brilliant 'Read My Lips' aswell as the Tubes 'The Completion Backward Principle' & 'Outside Inside' & Pat Benatar etc. Sound quality is always excellent, so I would buy with confidence mate I have just ordered the new REO Speedwagon re-issue of 'This Time We Mean It' and 'REO' which is their latest release. The other REO stuff was great aswell. Cool, thanks for the help. I just purchased the REO albums from them as well as the early Sammy Hagar discs and the two Motels releases.
  9. Has anyone bought any titles from BGO Records. They're a re-issue label who do a lot of those two on one discs. They have a pretty cool catalogue and I'm interested in picking up the REO Speedwagon and Sammy Hagar title. Can anyone comment on the quality of these re-issues? http://www.bgo-records.com
  10. I've always wondered this too. I can't imagine there is a whole lot of difference and they certainly wouldn't be worth the additional costs. But lets hear from someone has has heard one of them.
  11. I did a bit of searching to try and find out more about some of the bands on the FL-Rock compilation CD. I could't find much but I did find a website for the band Tess which is cool because they were my favourite band featured on that compilation. It seems they are still active having played at Rockfest in 2009. The song I posted earlier 'Woman For Me' comes from their 1991 demo tape. They also had a 1990 demo tape and a 1995 EP. Does anyone know more about this band? Check them out here on MySpace. 1990 1995 2009
  12. Here's a song from the Run Silent disc called 'Bring Back the Days'.
  13. Alright then, back on track... Next up I'm posting a compilation CD which I picked up for a good price at an on-line store (can't recall which one) not so long ago. I'm not sure what made me buy this, I think I was just drawn to the cover art and wanted to take a punt on something totally random and unknown. Glad that I did. FL Rock - Musik Aus Liechtenstein Year: Unknown Label: FL Records / Tyrolis CD 375 239 Country: Liechtenstein Track Listing: Review: Again, I know very little about this release, not even a year of release. Perhaps someone can translate the short block of text from the CD inlay for me. All I know is that this is a compilation of bands from Liechtenstein, covering lots of different styles of music with influences from Rock, AOR, Hard Rock, Rock N' Roll, Metal, Jazz and Prog. There's something for everyone on here. There are 13 tracks in total, 9 of which contain English lyrics and the remaining 4 have non-English lyrics (German I presume). I'm hoping some of you reading this can fill me in on some more details about this compilation and the bands featured within. I'd be interested to know if any of these bands released albums or if they were just local bands that never went any further than having a track featured on here. For those that are interested I have uploaded two of the best tracks from this disc. The first is a song called 'Woman For Me' by Tess. This one is a fairly slow Melodic Hard Rock tune which picks up at about 3:30 with a nice guitar solo. At 6:08 minutes in length it probably runs longer than it really needs to but is a cool song none the less. Download it here. Next is 'Lookin' For Paradise' by Secrecy. Not much to say here, just a pretty cool Hard Rock / Metal tune. Download it here.
  14. Does anyone know if Rock Candy has plans to re-issue any more of the Survivor and Quiet Riot albums. So far to my knowledge they have only done these ones: Quiet Riot - S/T '88 and III Survivor - S/T and Premonition
  15. Nice review! I'm interested to hear that disc now.
  16. Very much looking forward to getting these remasters. Will probably go for the box set as well. Have these albums been remastered before? I seem to re-call they were re released several years ago.
  17. I see Frontiers is also puting out digipack remasters of all the Triumph albums in December. They were remastered not so long ago weren't they? I don't own any of their albums yet so looking forward to picking them up.
  18. Love the artwork again. The songs are sounding excellent too. This will be a must have.
  19. Glad to hear. We can't lose you here on the forum cus you have the best Avatars.
  20. I've noticed the same thing. Yeah I think it has picked up a bit as well. Good to see.
  21. Could almost be mistaken for Sparkle Lounge era Def Leppard. Pretty cool song.
  22. Not sure how well known this band is, but they have some cool songs: Speed Parade
