  1. Ahh ok, that would make more sense.
  2. Brunette actually have a MySpace page. Also found a list of all their demos here Apparently they were called Killerhit before changing their name to Brunette.
  3. I came across this promo photo of a band called Brunette who I believe were an early incarnation of Hardline. Does anyone know anything more about them? Johnny Gioeli - Lead vocals, guitars Joey Gioeli - guitars Christopher Paul - guitars Jay Scott King - bass Darek Thomas Cava - drums Found a few songs on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gidKVuQBKIc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=petZAZXwBKQ&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq0vrxL283Y&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW4JsjFX1ec&feature=related Also found some of their demos for d/l here
  4. I was just wondering that too.. Actually there was a copy sold on Ebay over the weekend. I think the item location was something like... South Dakota. It went for around $16.00 plus shipping. I think it may have been discussed before but I wonder if there are separate US, UK and Australian versions of this album.
  5. I didn't think this was released yet. According to the official website were I bought it from, they don't ship out til Nov 5th. How is it that AOR Heaven etc have it available already?
  6. I thought I'd start this topic in order to showcase a few of the lesser known and interesting titles in my music collection. I'm hoping to post a new album at least once per week. The albums I post are not necesarily obscure, nor are they essential listening, but hopefuly some of you will find them intersting enough to track down and add them to your own collections. So to start with I thought I would showcase a cool little EP that I picked up off E-Bay recently. Run Silent - Painted Ocean (EP) Year: 1994 Label: Independent Country: Australia Track Listing: 1. Painted Ocean 2. Do You Ever 3. Emotion 4. Bring Back the Days 5. Take My Hand 6. Do You Ever (Acoustic) Line-Up: James Wilkinson (lead vocals/saxophone/percussion) Darren Cooper (bass/vocals) Andrew (A.J. Fox) Jolley (keyboards/programming/vocals) Andrew (Ruben) Joseph (guitars/vocals) Greg (Whitey) White (drums/vocals) Review: Little is known about this Aussie band. I believe they are from the town of Dubbo in central NSW and this EP is to my knowledge their only release. Featured here are some gentle sounding Melodic Rock songs with enough keyboards to keep the AOR fans interested as well. If I had to compare them to anyone, I'd say fellow Aussie band Love 'N Rebellion, but I guess you could say there's a hint of INXS in there as well - although I might be just saying that because of the saxophone that features on 'Do You Ever'. I'm guessing some of the other Aussie board members would have come across this EP at some stage, however, outside of Australia I would imaging this CD is virtually unknown. When it does show up for auction, it usually gets little attention and sells for a couple of bucks. For those who don't mind music at the softer end of the Melodic Rock spectrum, I'm sure you will find something to enjoy here so keep an eye out for it and maybe ask a few of the Aussie members if they can keep a look out for you as well.
  7. Steel Panther ... bunch of posers, lyrics written by 12 year old boys
  8. I've made up my mind about it before the end of the first spin.
  9. Pretty cool AOR album this one. As mentioned in earlier posts, the production is a little rough sounding in places but more than acceptable and considering the original release date it really is quite good. I'm uploading it for you right now.
  10. Yeah 'Joey' was their biggest hit and most people have heard that song. 'Caroline' is one of my favourites as well as "Tomorrow, Wendy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdpTcvSn8HQ&feature=fvw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQw5DoGBhOs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46_Ynl1ARgM&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B4xUf05uhk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69BozyMnVSg&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaJAxdGeZ4E&feature=related
  11. I've been a fan of Concrete Blonde ever since I first heard their 'Bloodletting' album. I'm going to see them live for the first time next week on their "20 Years of Bloodletting" Australian Tour. Just curious to know if there are any other fans here on the forums. They're definitely not Heavy Harmonies material but there's something I just love about this band, not really sure what it is.
  12. I was going to say Boyzz as well. I often think a lot of the southenrn rock bands have a bit of a biker rock image.
  13. I find that the HH's forums, whilst a bit quiet lately, have much more relevant/on topic conversations than every other music forum I've visited. I agree with what's been said about Sleaze Roxx - it's full of bickering, but also the forums at MelodicRock.com seem to be nothing but squabble sometimes. I'm not trying to put down either website but I feel their forums need a lot of improvement. Might I add that it's often the same members you see that are instigating the trouble on those forums. Maybe they need to be baneed? Back on topic with our trouble free forums here at HH's, I wonder if anyone has any suggestions of how to make it a bit more interesting. I was thinking along the lines of doing a regular (weekly) post on a rare/less heard of Aussie CD from my music collection and maybe having a few short track samples if I can figure out how to do that. Also I remember about 12 months ago there was a member here who I can't recall (the name Rob rings a bell) who did a regular post with an old photo/flyer from an obscure 80's/90's hard rock band. I found those posts really interesting and they sparked a lot of conversation. I guess everyone has their own area of interest/specialty area on this forum - some like AOR, others are more into glam, and there's even some strange people that like thrash metal What I'm getting at is that maybe we could improve the forum by each having a regular topic/thread that we start up and contribute to each week. Maybe I'm just speaking shit here, but seriously, have a think about it and see if there's a topic you love that you could start and topic on and re-ignite it each week by discussing a different band/CD. Alright enough rambling from me.
  14. I was recently thinking the same thing. This is the only forum I look at but I've definitely noticed decreased activity over the past 6 months. Still, it's the best site on the net!
  15. I see you picked up a bunch from Musicbuymail? I got a heap of the same titles from the sale section. This one was a real surprise which I had no hope for and it actually pleasantly surprised me. Let me know what you think of it. Or I'll fight you. Well, I got a ridiculous haul this week. Because of the f*ckery that work is I was not able to pick this lot up from the post office until yesterday. But holy shit, what a pile. I picked up the Puzzleview and Sledgehammer Ledge as well (thanks to Lindsay). Interesting to hear what you think about those John Waite discs. Temple Bar is a classic but When You Were Mine got very mixed reviews. I like it though.
  16. Back in stock it seems. I got mine this week and whilst it is a CDR, the packaging is quite good.
  17. Got my box set this week. It's gonna take some time to get through playing all the discs. So far I've found a few goodies. As Dan says there's a lot of music styles on offer here. Packaging is very average.
  18. Any word on this band? They sort of never really took off. I recall the samples I heard were quite good so I'd be keen to hear more from them.

The first track has a bit of an early 90's Skid Row sound going on. The rest of it sounds like pretty average mid 90's hard rock, a bit on the alternative side maybe.
  20. Picked up an original copy of 'Colours' some months ago and loving it. Why is this band so unheard of?
  21. Been playing this recently. Have to disagree with you Tim. Yes it is lightweight but there are some very nice songs on here. 'Can't Help Ourselves' and 'Kiss You Like This' are two of the best. Excellent album. But only recommended for fans of AOR/Melodic Rock at the softer end of the spectrum.
  22. That's been on my want list for quite some time.. You should definitely get this one asap, Dominick !! The track "Come Rain or Shine" alone is worth buying it ! Thanks Bernd! It also has Bobby Messano & Tico Torres on it.. Anyone who wants this disc, Music Buy Mail currently has it for US $14.75. Not sure how many copies. Pretty good value as these Escape re-issues of the Franke & The Knockouts albums can easily sell for >$40 on E-Bay. Check it out here.
  23. Finally got my hands on this CD. Pretty good stuff actually. The vocals remind me of Lou Gramm at times too.
