Lovex - Watch Out Bai Bang - Livin My Dream Admittedly the highs on Bai Bang are better, but Lovex is the more consistent album. Excellent stuff.

G I copped it bad on this thread on many levels On to some interesting news regarding the new BF record, Pekka & the guitarist have confirmed a reliable source that 5 basic tracks ( whatever that means, maybe they need to wpork on more keys, melodiies, harmonies, guitar solos etc... ) have been done but unsure when an album will be ready for release. As I said you'll be lucky if its even 2012......Nightwish duties will take precedence, as always.

Haha. Yeah, it's certainly no lyrical opus, that's for sure. It's also contrived and spectacularly unoriginal... but with all this in mind it's probably sitting at the top of my list for 2011 at the moment because everything is just done so well. Killer disc. Wow mate that is some comment. Lovex is better than it for a start!! lol. I would say that the first half of the album is excellent (esp 'Come On' which reminds me of Wig Wam at their best!), but the second half is let down by Rock It & Put On Her Dress. Also is it me or are the vocals just a bit dodgy in places?? Its probably in my top ten but wont be by year end......no way jose.

Yeah to each their own. Ive played this through about 10 times, and I love it. To say (TIM!) that this album has no choruses or hooks again leaves me scratching my head. I actually much prefer his vocal performance here because for most part he doesnt sound like he's got his nuts in a vice like he does with FF. Will defo appeal to the AOR crew more than others..........be interested to hear what Swazi & Jez etc think?? Guys?? Don't worry, Glen ! I am with you on this one all the way. I love it !! I think "Second Wave" was his best FF job and this is coming very close. Lovin the Moratti disc. so im not going mad - thankyou guys. Thought for a moment I was listening to another disc!! lol

I agree, and it totally exceeds expectations (though that says something about the quality of their last few discs). Personally the fact that it's lacking a massive stand-out track - something their classic albums always had - and that tunes like "Live for Today" & "Rock n' Roll Tonight" are not quite up to the standard of the rest mean this is about a 90% for me. Backed. Rock n Roll Tonight was great live tho!! I'd be sitting around the 80% mark personally. Which, like I said in the other thread, is still - to me - an extremely high score and an indication of an utterly essential CD. I agree with Tim in that there's no real ball snapping track, and there are a couple of fillers, so I think about 80% is a very deserved score. It's a good, nice, fresh CD. I just think there's already plenty of albums chock full of killer stand-out tracks around that 90% mark. I think 'No Time To Lose Ya' and 'End Of The Day' is about as good as it gets so far in 2011. But then all the best releases are still to come..............

Obviously been watching too much Spanish Football mate ;-) As for Wrestling..........i used to watch it when I was about 8. Its officially not a sport anymore anyway - they made that decision themselves for tax reasons.

not heard it yet, but agree on this tune - he performed this on US Idol....and it was v under-whelming.

Nothing this year I am afraid.........the new Nightwish album is 2012 and that will no doubt involve a tour as well so dont get your hopes up anytime soon :-( Did hear that Pekka was working on a solo project but no idea of a release date on this - also not clear what style this will take....BF, Leverage or completely different. Cheers

Ha ha the viscious quill of Tim strikes again. Seriously mate your tastes are so hard to judge. This is a disc I presumed that you would love - you know high quality AOR. lol!! Dont be too put off by Tim's scathing review.......for me this is an excellent AOR album - FULL of hooks, and bloody great solos care of Mr Beach.

Do you think, when we do see a truly KILLER album in 2011, we'll see a score above 100%? Well obviously he thinks that this is a killer album. Truth be told its not that far off being killer. I think its a fantastic return to form and really probably about as good as they could have produced in 2011.

The Book Of Eli OK, but a bit weird.....DW is always awesome tho.
