  1. Amazing disc and one of my top discs of 2011. Backed great stuff - didnt think they could record something this good. Even Eden sounds great. Really? Let's not get wild now. I like the band and their efforts - this is a good CD, but man that dude's voice is just no good at all. I'd be happy for him to stay on as a song writing identity, but how good would the band be if they got James LaBrie on vocals full time? I really like his style on this disc....sounds pretty cool. Also the songs just kick arse....excellent album IMO. Wow I like Michael Eden's voice a lot. James is good and all and sounds great on the disc but would of preferred if they didn't use him on backing vocals on every song. Great album though an one of my favs of 2011. Yeah and i actually think he sounds worse on 'No Holy Man'....or is that just me?? James? I think he sounds fine but I've never thought he was a great singer and only a good one. I love the Andi Deris tune. Yeah Black Widdow is just killer....one of the best on the album. this is actually my running disc.....certainly makes you go faster ;-))

  4. My initial favs are 'Sing', 'She Should....', 'Turn Up the (fuckin) Radio'...annoying that this song is so good ...'Snapshots In Time...', 'Love Hate' (perfect verses...shame the chorus isnt stronger), 'Animals' (probably the best song - like light Def Leppard), 'Photographs', 'Should I Stay', 'Stuck In A Moment', Looking at it like that I guess that 9 pretty solid songs....shame they didnt record these 9 and one other to make a pretty damned good album. I hate albums packed with fillers which I have to skip all the time. Hey ho. Here you go the 10th song can be 'Wouldnt Change A Thing'....like that one. So, 10 good songs and 12 average....that will do for me i guess.

  6. All samples now over at Melodicrock.com - sounds fantastic.....I reckon this is gonna be tough to beat as a pure AOR album in 2011.

  9. Another day....another Toby Hitchcock song stuck in my head......... Today its the KILLER 'I Should Have Said'
  10. Lionville - s/t Outloud - Love Catastrophe Toby Hitchcock - Mercurys Down
  11. Yeah sounds cool............now for some 'sounds' hopefully. cheers
  12. As I said there are probably about 5 or 6 really good songs....the rest I could take or leave. 22 songs is a bit ridiculous for one album. But maybe they just want to 'give' their fans loads of songs - what one might hate the other might love - who knows..............
  13. Pre-order Toby Hitchcock - Mercurys Down Work Of Art - Artwork
  14. wow, some nice stuff in there mate. Those blvd, Jidhed and Meissner discs are classics. Could take or leave the Dan Lucas tho.
  15. Pagans Mind - Heavenly Ecstacy [the first part of this album is excellent with at least 3 or 4 gems, but the second half (bar maybe 1 or 2) is pretty woeful....seems to lose all touch of melody, and gets a bit boring truth be told. Not a patch on the excellent Gods Equation IMO]
  16. Good shout....that is a largely forgotten and excellent album!
  17. Good to see someone still mentioning this - a great album IMO. I can still only find one maybe two fillers. I still can't make my mind up about the damned thing yet and I am on about spin number 20! Yeah but that says it all Agreed! If you've tried to force yourself to like it 20 times and it still hasn't worked... yep, you know it sucks. Yeah but at least I havent got Black n Blue in my top 30.........now that sucks ;-)) It's not that bad. But that's a good point actually My full list is about 60 albums, and I just had a quick look what was behind Black N Blue, and these are all better than Black N' Blue, so my list will change, no doubt about it: Reece-Kronlund - Solid Gunner - Desire Shakra - Back on track After Hours - Against the grain Voodoo Circle - Broken hearted syndrome Million - Sane and insanity Bonfire - Branded Danger Zone - Line of Fire Anyway, the Journey disc is still worse than all of these! The Journey album is NOT worse than Bonfire.....you evil evil man ;-))
  18. Within Temptation - The Unforgiven [this album starts out awesome....but gets a bit 'samey' in the second half.....very nice effort tho]

  22. Good to see someone still mentioning this - a great album IMO. I can still only find one maybe two fillers. I still can't make my mind up about the damned thing yet and I am on about spin number 20! Yeah but that says it all - it grows with every listen! Everytime I listen to it I hear something new. The musicianship is amazing and there are some great hooks on this album contrary to what some might say
  23. Good to see someone still mentioning this - a great album IMO. I can still only find one maybe two fillers.
  24. Official video for 'This Is The Moment'......starts out all Starbreaker, but ends up a monster MHR song :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6yMQmSMmXk
