There are a LOT of Priest songs that sound "a bit weird now" after Halford's coming-out party... "Jawbreaker," and "Eat Me Alive" are two that come immediately to mind... How'bout the song "Love You To Death" on RAM IT DOWN? The bullwhip sounds @ the end and Halford squealing "WHIP ME BABY! DO IT LIKE THAT! OOOOH! YEAAAAAAH!" creep me out more than just a little bit nowadays... I remember watching the "You've Got Another Thing Coming" video with my friend not too long after he came out of the closet (it was the live footage video with studio song); we saw Halford in his black leather suspenders with no shirt and were saying "yep, he was definitely gay back then". I was surprised when I first heard the news though. Looking back at it now though, there were definitely hints - Turbo lover? ( ) Though, you could just of thought he was a bit eccentric or something like that. Priest is definitely one of my all time faves - top 5 and maybe even top 3. Helloween, Priest, Yngwie are my top 3 Metal bands I'd say and probably in that order .

I like Ram It Down a lot! Title track is good and has killer guitar solo (though I have to admit, hearing the chorus is a bit weird now hehehe - just a little bit though; still a cool song I listen to and put on the touch tunes juke box at the bar sometimes), Heavy Metal, Blood Red Skies, I'm A Rocker, Come And Get It - actually, I like all the songs!! I like their version of Johnny B. Goode too. To me, the Ram It Down album album is kind of like Defenders Of The Faith but more modernized for 1988. I like Turbo too - Reckless is an awesome song; best on the album IMO. Screaming For Vengeance, Defenders Of The Faith, Turbo, Ram It Down, and Painkiller are all must haves for Priest IMO; alright, I guess Hell Bent For Leather should be there too. I never heard any earlier Priest before Hell Bent Am I missing out or what? I got to see Priest in June 2005 in Camden, NJ and they were awesome!! Scored 3rd row tickets on ebay for regular price! I had bought tickets before I saw those but figured I'd sell the ones I had - I ended up getting pretty much my money back from selling them to a scalper at the show so it all worked out.

Thundersteel, Born In America, and Nightbreaker are my faves from this awesome band. Chose Thundersteel for my favorite.

King Kobra III - original New Renaissance/Rocker Records release. Came in the mail yesterday. Really like it and wanted it for a long time. Finally got it and I like it all except for the last 2 songs which I don't think they wrote. They should have stuck 2 more originals/their own writing on it instead of the crap they did but oh well.

If you been to ALLENTOWN, you must have stopped in to VYAGRA RECORDS. I think the guy's name was JOHN. He got me an autograph poster of DIAMOND HEAD when they played a metalfest here in jersey awhile back. DAMN! I wish I could get in touch with him! Yes, I know him. Two of my friends were in contact with him regularly and frequented his store which is now closed unfortunately. I was there a couple times - he's cool and sure loves 80's metal. I played that Metalfest you're talking about - April 2002 in Asbury Park. I was in a band called Black Fate at the time. We kicked off the second day on the main stage. The whole weekend was a blast - one of the best times I've had. John also had his own Metalfest in Allentown at Croc Rock which we played - I was in a band called Krusifire at that time. I think my friend Tony still talks to him here and there. Cheers

I'll back up Vintage Vinyl. I went there with a friend 4-5 months ago and the place is big. Took a little over an hour to get there but was definitely worth it. You're right, the Metal CD section is huge - best I've seen at any store so far. I was kind of blown away by what they had. Ended up grabbing 5 CD's and could've gotten more but I didn't want to go nuts that day. My friend bought around 10 CD's. I picked up Talisman - S/T, Saxon - Rock The Nations, The newest Manowar, and 2 others I can't remember. They had tons from Thrash/Power/Traditional Metal, Hard/Glam Rock - old and new. They had plenty of titles that are listed on this site. If you can't find something there, there's something wrong with you - nah, just kidding (figure of speech). But really, awesome huge selection and you won't be disappointed so if anyone ever thinks of going - go for it. Music Connection sounds like a cool place to check out. There's also a record, tape, and CD convention at Merchants Square Mall in Allentown PA that happens every 3 months - so 4 times a year. I went faithfully each time for a couple years but haven't recently. They have some good vendors there that have a good selection of Rock and Metal CD's. One is Keytunes - was my favorite and really only place to stop at since they always had what I wanted - I would always spend around $100 there each trip! I picked up stuff like Steeler (Germany), Fifth Angel, Alice Cooper, Bonfire, Wrathchild (U.K.), Dionysis, Stratovarious, and many others there. I missed the last recent one but will definitely try to hit up the next one.

Oh yeah, I think Maiden will take this one home!

BEER!! Budweiser, the king of beers (self proclaimed that is - haha); Vodka - mixed drinks; mix with soda, juice, or anything that tastes somewhat good. When I'm in the mood for a shot I'll drink Black Haus. When I'm feeling ambitous I'll have a shot of Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo tequila which is a rare find at local bars. CABO WABO!!

Yeah, NEH is good. I always got my stuff quick. They do have good customer service too. I had a Vain - No Respect CD arrive defective and they sent me a new replacement along with a postage paid envelope to return the defective one. Perfect!

I chose "There She Was" but the whole album is great and gets regular rotation in my listening. This one is up there definitely in my top 20 or even probably top 10 CD's to listen to.

I don't know for sure cuz I don't have it but I could almost swear that Old Metal reissued "No Stranger To Danger" as well... I vaguely remember reading a combination review of both "City's Gonna Burn" and "No Stranger To Danger" in Metal Maniacs magazine some years back... I could be wrong tho, and I'm too lazy to go digging through all my old magazines to find it. You're right Fat Freddy, "No Stranger To Danger" was reissued by Old Metal Records I'd say about 5 years back - I just checked my copy and it's Old Metal Records. I also have "Annihilation Principle" on Old Metal as well as Grim Reaper - See You In Hell, Sorceror - 2, and Cities - Annihilation Absolute. May even have another 1 or 2 from Old Metal Records lying around. Fowley sure reissued some good ones. He's/Deceased is coming to play several minutes from where I live on the 24th of this month and I may just have to check it out - that is if I'm not too run down from Ozzfest on the 22nd.

I'll have to say Troll 2 from 1990 I believe. Very low budget (not that it's a bad thing but this was too noticeable here for the worse) and horrible acting. A high school play group could have done better. That's the worst movie I ever saw.

I agree 99%. The most I've spent on a CD is $70 and that's kind of nuts. The only way I'd spend $50+ for a CD is if I really love it and have to have it. You can find most rare CD's you want for $50 or under and of course your not rare CD's used for $5 or less or new for about $15. It's the rare indies (rare because the bands only made hundreds of copies and never made it) that fetch $50+ up to $1000 and that is ridiculous to me. You wanna buy a CD for hundreds or sometimes thousands of $$ that has lower production and lets face it, sometimes lower quality of musicians than go for it if it makes you happy. There's nothing wrong with it if you like it and it makes you happy. I understand you are in it for the rarity, one of a kind aspect of it and that's fine (like I said, whatever turns you on) but just not my cup of tea when it comes to a CD. Being a musician, some rare CD's I hear that go for hundreds made me cringe as far as musicianship and I would never pay $1 for it let alone hundreds. I feel sorry for the people who shelled out hundreds to thousands of dollars for the Surrender CD and it has been reissued for $15 or the Hot Boy that people paid hundreds for and was then issued by the band for $40 ORIGINAL to boot (which was worth it for me). Those extremely high prices are not worth it when you can find an official reissue or even a CD-R in some cases. Not really trying to brag, I know other people on here have many more CD's than me but I am very proud of my 600 (maybe a little less but probably more) CD's in my collection - 99% silver pressed CD's and about 75% are originals and the rest silver pressed official reissues with maybe a handful that are possibly unofficial. I have a few CD-R's, one of which is the Laurence Archer CD because I was curious to hear it and you may as well hit the gong and put your head in sewage because the disc (mainly his singing) is awful. But, nevertheless it's a cool one to have in my collection and a CD-R of it is just fine. I traded a Cirith Ungol King of The Dead CD for it to a gentleman on here who was kind enough to make me the CD-R copy and artwork of the Laurence Archer (thanks delmfate - it's a cool addition to my collection!). It was better than buying the original for several hundred dollars without a doubt. But, make no mistake about it - originals are usually the best quality. It's when they fetch ridiculous amounts that make me wave the red flag and buy an official reissue or a CD-R in more rare cases. I agree!

All 3 bands are awesome! I chose Europe. Actually, these 3 bands get plenty of rotation on my CD player. All 3 bands have some amazing songs. Europe does more for me though.

I would be very leary about this one. He doesn't show a pic of the CD - only of the artwork which looks like he copied elsewhere. The condition of it is also listed as "New" which throws red flags. He gives a minimal description of it. You would think if he had an original sealed/new he would have bragged about it in the description. I would ask questions but I probably would just assume it's a boot and only bid if you don't mind a boot and paying x amount for it.

Same here.........JLT sounded amazing on that album. That may have been his peak. Jeff Scott Soto is also a great singer as well as Goran Edmund, Mike Vescera, and Mark Boals. Man, Yngwie had some great singers.

The CD in the picture looks like a CDR; the color of the disc and the dark blue or black letters and numbers on the inner ring give it away. Unless that disc was somehow manufactured originally like that? Seller is advertising it as an original which is FUBAR. At least give a hint it's a boot which some do.
