  1. Sources: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=147231 http://www.blick.ch/people/schweiz/steve-lee-schon-wieder-horror-crash-158008 According to the Swiss daily newspaper Blick, vocalist Steve Lee of Swiss hard rock veterans GOTTHARD was killed in a motorcycle accident in California. He was 47 years old. An official statement on the matter from the band's management and record company is expected later today. It was only two months ago that Lee was involved in "a horrible car crash" in Italy while he was "on [his] way home from a little vacation." He said of the August 7 incident, "A car crashed into us on the motorway near Firenze, and it involved six other cars. As cars were slowing down, the person in the car behind us didn't notice that, and crashed into our car. Despite the accident, I want you all to know that I am OK. I guess I must have a 'rock-loving' guardian angel." ----------------------------------------------- Gone way too soon. R.I.P. Steve
  2. ...and now he's gone: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=104015176&blogId=539647780 Stepping Down I'm sorry to announce that I have had to step down from my position as Lead Vocalist of Lillian AxeMy personal commitments have made it impossible to give Lillian Axe the time and dedicationthat it truly deserves. I want to thank Steve Blaze and the rest of the Lillian camp for the opportunityto front such a great band and I wish them all the best for the future. http://www.myspace.com/ronnymunroe
  3. When the Ravens are playing I'm nowhere near the computer. This is me during a Raven game... This was me after the Raven game today.... I was as well Dave! EXCELLENT drive by Flacco and crew to win it at the end yesterday, along with Ray Lewis' interception. What a game!
  4. ABC has canceled one of their new shows as well; "My Generation". By all accounts, FOX's "The Good Guys" and NBC's "Outlaw" are on the chopping block too. My thoughts on the new shows I've checked out so far.... Boardwalk Empire - Excellent stuff. Mike & Molly - Cute. Not a must see, but pretty funny. The Event - Nowhere close to being in the same league as "Lost", but pretty decent so far. I'll keep watching as long as they keep giving timely answers, and NBC keeps showing it. No Ordinary Family - Really surprised at how good this was. This had the potential to be a cheese fest, but the "family becomes superheroes" story has been done really well here. Raising Hope - HILARIOUS new comedy from the same guys who did "My Name is Earl" Running Wilde - AWFUL...just f'n awful. Not funny...at all. How the hell this got picked up boggles the mind. Undercovers - YIKES. This is one of the shows I was looking forward to, and it bored the hell outta me. It also looks to be in trouble ratings wise. Better With You - Not Funny... will probably not watch again. The Defenders - Surprise of the season for me. I didn't think this would be all that great, but Jerry O'connell and Jim Belushi work really well together. Surprisingly good. S#!t My Dad Says - Eh. A few funny lines here and there, but there is ZERO chemistry between Shatner and the guy who plays his son (the one who just moved in). Will probably watch a few more episodes cause it comes on right after Big Bang Theory. Outsourced - Ugh. Not funny.... only reason I watched the second episode is because it comes on right after The Office and I was too lazy to change the channel. The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret - Friday nights on IFC. Laughed my ass off watching the first episode last night.
  5. I watched and enjoyed it immensely. Love Buscemi's character... a bad guy with just enough good in him to make him interesting. I'll be tuning in Sunday nights...
  6. Well, it's only taken about 3 years , but Stranded is now available! I picked it up directly from the band's website at: http://www.smilek.com/ You can hear samples of all the songs on their site, or on their MySpace page at: http://www.myspace.com/smilek I've been listening to this one all week and am really enjoying it!
  7. Am I the only one who thinks the raspiness to Mark's voice is VERY similar to Blackie Lawless? It really stands out on "Metal Health"... anyway, sounds good to me.
  8. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100912/ap_en_mu/us_band_theft By GREG BLUESTEIN, Associated Press Writer Greg Bluestein, Associated Press Writer – ATLANTA – Atlanta-based rock band Drivin' N Cryin' has plenty of reason to cry: They'll be driving to their next gig without more than $50,000 of vintage and custom equipment that was swiped from a hotel. A trailer packed with vintage amplifiers, custom guitars and an elaborate drum set was stolen from a Macon hotel early Saturday hours after the band finished playing at a local theater, band manager Ken Green said. "The guys were devastated. It's a big hit considering how busy they are — they do a minimum of 150 shows a year, and this is their living," he said. "Old equipment is like a pair of shoes. You break it in and you get comfortable. So this was a big deal." The band had finished playing a Friday night gig at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom and then grabbed a late dinner before retiring to a hotel in north Macon around 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning. When the members woke up hours later, the trailer had vanished. "It was gone," Green said. "We think somebody followed us and waited until the lights were off." While Bibb County Sheriff's officers are investigating, Green said he and the band's supporters are following several leads that developed after they posted the details of the crime on Facebook over the weekend. It has already yielded some results. Green said he's already recovered two custom-built amplifiers and an electric guitar at an Atlanta pawn shop, and he's handing over the information of who sold the items to local police. And tipsters pointed him to two other pawn shops that may have some of the equipment. "This is the tools of our trade," he said. "It's a working man's band — they're still out doing it. So just give 'em a break." Green said the four-man band, perhaps best known for their song "Straight to Hell" and 1991 hit "Fly Me Courageous," still plans to make the next two stops on the tour — although they may have some new equipment. The Allman Brothers Band and the Drive-By Truckers both offered to lend some gear. ___ Drivin' N Cryin': http://www.drivinncryin.com/
  9. The New Cars - It's alive! This one just arrived today; really enjoying it so far. Rundgren does a good job with the material IMO.

  11. They're not rare, but you might want to pick up the "Dazed and Confused" and "Balls of Fury" soundtracks for your collection. Some good stuff on both of 'em, particularly the Loudlion tunes on BoF.
  12. Listening to this one right now, and my first impression is that this is ALOT better than Black Butterfly. Catchy songs that don't seem to "try too hard" and a sound that I would describe as their first CD and 15 thrown into a blender. Damn good stuff; anyone else enjoying this one?
  13. It's been a little over 2 years now since CD number 10,000 was added, and this morning we've hit the 12,000 mark with Collections by REO Speedwagon: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=848&CDName=Collections&Letter=A A very appropriate band for this milestone I'd say. Thanks to everyone for your submissions, and for making this the best place to hang out and discuss our favorite music!

  15. Ok, not sure how long this will be up (it's been leaked illegally), but here is the 12 minute Lost DVD bonus "The New Man in Charge" *WARNING: SPOILERS! - if you're planning on buying the DVD set you might want to skip this... although I'm not really sure why http://re1ease.net/tv-shows/lost/new-man-in-charge.html A few answers to some series long questions, and a really cool final scene.
  16. No idea, but I give the guy credit, he's persistent. He's been looking for this band since 2005: http://www.80sxchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51749
  17. ...and indeed it is: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=1472&CDName=Loud+Crowd
  18. "That Smell" was the first thing that came to mind for me too... either that, or it's also got a Clapton vibe to it as well.
  19. There's not a whole lot of info about 'em, but the few places they're mentioned out on the interwebs refer to this single as their one and only release. Shame if that's the case...
  20. Cool stuff with CrashDiet singer Simon Cruz doing backing vox!
  21. I do now own Sin Decade; "Nightmare in the Neighborhood" & "Healing touch" are particularly excellent IMO. I also picked up Spooked, and really like "Live Until it Hurts" from that one. I'm curious, have you checked out their latest, Pandemonium? For me, it smokes everything else I've heard from them... so far.
  22. OK, so shoot me. I've only really gotten into these guys in the last 6 months or so after purchasing the excellent "Pandemonium", and am just wondering what everyone else's faves are?
