Haven't heard anything to dissuade me from buying it........the track above sounded good enough.

He can charge whatever he wants......in the end it's up to the buyer(s) to determine what it's worth. He's not forcing anyone buy it.......

It's probably lame anyway, Dan! lol Both of those solo albums were soooo boring to me......and I don't have much hope for this being much better.

Michael Sweet is on a terror right now......putting out a bunch of quality tuneage. I'm expecting this to be a good one....however, ya never know until ya hear it! At some point I gotta wonder if he's moving too fast.....but, as long as he sings like he does and the music rawks, then I'm buying too, Mullethead! :-)

Not a fan of the vocalist......

Mandy Lion is one of the worst vocalists I've ever heard.....and is virtually unlistenable for me. This release is not in my collection either......and THAT says a lot as well. LOL I remember getting the solo disc by George Lynch and listening to it and then when it came to the track with Mandy Lion on it, I just couldn't believe that George Lynch would ruin a song on his solo disc by having this guy attempt to sing on it!! lol But...as always...I understand 'different strokes for different folks'....and....'to each their own'.....but I don't get it....lol

Good stuff....the singer has a slight similarity to the singer from Disturbance. Will definitely check it out.

Yeah...I recently **within the last four months** bought their two prior albums. Pretty good stuff.....and will check this one out, as well.

I think the main, massive difference is the complete and utter lacks of hooks and that commercial edge with the new Lynch Mob stuff. Those first two albums are chock full of hooks and full of songs that, if given the chance, would have done well on radio at the time. Bluesy, but also melodic and "anthemic." This new shit has absolutely 0 of that in it. You're right, it's still got the bluesy edge, but it's lost every single other element that made their sound what it was. There has been one single good song on their last albums ('Before I close my eyes' is excellent) but that is it, and they used to be the norm for these guys. Anyway, if you think they still have anything in common with those first two albums, more power to ya, but I definitely do not agree, and I think you'll find that most would also not agree. In a nutshell, they used to great but they are now very shit. And who on earth likes, let alone loves 'Belly to Belly??' I admit that I think 'Ultraphobic' is a cool disc and probably about the best sell-out disc bands from "our genre" offered up, but 'Belly to belly' is as bad as any and all the rest. And I can't remember anyone else ever really singing it's praises? I definitely see what you're saying in regards to the hooks and commercial edge....I do, but I think I've grown accustomed to their sound over the last two or three discs and it doesn't bother me as much as when they first started going down this road. But I do know what you're saying...but I have definitely found some good songs amongst these newer releases.

Nelson definitely sold more units....mostly due to the Nelson family name (and that they were twins with long blonde hair) pushing publicists/marketing companies to jump on that bandwagon. I guess the fact that Tyketto and Nelson were on the same label made it hard for them to get the press when Geffen jumped behind Nelson. Among the many hard rock fans I hung around, and knowing the scene back then......girls were the biggest fans of Nelson because they were a bit poofy sound wise (and had the twin blond thing goin' on), while most hard rockers went in the direction of Guns N Roses, Skid Row, Firehouse, Steelheart, etc. It would be interesting to see if Nelson even had the strength (even though their album sold well) to tour as a headliner in arenas back then? I know I never heard of them doing so?? Maybe you remember? I agree with you about Danger Danger's second album.....pretty good, for sure. In the end, because I LOVE most of the music of our era....and all of it aftward, I own all of this stuff...and can appreciate it and am glad they a lot of bands still put out new music. Hell.....the new Trixter is excellent and they were certainly minority status back in the day, but that hasn't stopped them from really putting out some great stuff over the years! **Road of a Thousand Dreams being on of my favorite songs, period!**

Sounds pretty good to me.......they mixed in a little more of the new era sound structure (breakdown bits) to the song, a bit of the more recent poppy background vocals, but really....a good tune to introduce to the commercial mainstream.

You must be listening to something different f\than me then. I just recently listened to a mixed disc with songs from both the Lynch Mob debut and the self-titled follow up. The new stuff sounds absolutely ZERO like those two discs. ZERO. Just because the sound isn't exactly like them doesn't mean that they're is nothing in common...........but, hey.......if you don't think so, then more power to ya. I will say this. I've been listening to Lynch Mob for what.....30 years or thereabouts?....and I know exactly what's on them....and I enjoy both albums. But....this is also....30 years later....and they aren't going to sound exactly like they did....even Stryper, who probably have nailed their classic sound better than anyone even sound different today on record then they did then. I don't think that if someone who hadn't heard them in 30 years plopped in their latest stuff wouldn't recognize them...in fact, I think they would. As always, everyone's opinion is valid because it's based on their tastes, experiences, etc......I just find the newer stuff THAT far off base where I can't listen to it...or that it's horrible, etc. And....as always, bands do put out shit stuff sometimes...**Shadowlife**..lol...like we all know and agree. But....strangely enough, I see people that love Warrant's alternative albums......even though *I* thought they sucked donkey balls.....like....HUGE donkey balls....

Just received and listened to this album all the way through......and, it is a DAMN good, if not, excellent album! I really dug it on first listen.......

The disdain for this album also baffles me.......it isn't a horrible album at all. In fact, I enjoyed it.....didn't LOVE it.....wasn't as catchy or monsterous as say..."Lost in Translation"...but it was a damn good modern hard rock record. "End of Days" was a nice ride, in fact.....kinda really dig that one. I understand some of you can't listen to modern hard rock.......but I think you're depriving yourself of some good tuneage with some of the modern bands.

"...a band of Nelson's stature..." That had me laughing out loud......seriously.... Nelson had or has no stature. They put out 'ok' albums their entire career.......in the U.S. they were nothing but a one hit wonder that, in the hard rock community of fans, were practically non-existent. It always amuses me when I see or hear bands like Nelson....or Tyketto....Danger Danger.....or ______ insert countless others here that were 2nd and 3rd rate hard rock bands, being so revered now. I guess it's their popularity overseas.....which always is interesting and would be a great convo with a lot of the guys/girls on the forums. And while I have purchased every album from both of those bands (I am a collector).....I don't really think that Nelson's new one has hit me in any great manner, as well.

I think many are a bit over the top when it comes to dissing Lynch Mob. The last two albums (and EP) were full of bluesy, groove oriented, hard rock.....just like they intended originally with the first two albums. The first tune is not bad at all....and has all of the elements of a Lynch Mob album, so I'll get probably pick it up.

I enjoyed that tune.....way better than most of his other solo stuff.

Ha...what are you guys? Closet rockers?! Posers??!! lol I mean...I couldn't give two shits if some assmunch at a checkout looked at me weird because I'm buying this CD. In fact, if they did...and I saw it...I would definitely say something in return. I don't apologize for the music I like.....or anything that I like...for that matter.

Great riffs.....some killer hooks.....aggressive, loud with some melody. This is excellent rawkin' stuff.........

Both songs in this thread were good tunes. I like 'em.....and will buy this (in fact I've already pre-ordered from Amazon).

I have subscriptions to Classic Pop, Classic Rock and I buy the Classic Rock AORs when they come out. My wife has many subscriptions...People, Entertainment Weekly, Health and a few more.

Everyone's tastes vary, of course.....but I just laugh to myself when people rate "Keep the Faith" so highly. That was clearly the album that started their decline in popularity. So, it's obvious when their commercial peak was....."Slippery When Wet" and "New Jersey". To me, I truly enjoyed their first four albums immensely. Great tuneage on each one...and I saw them live multiple times. After that I hoped and wished for a 'more rockin' album.....but they hardly delivered on that front. Mostly poofy.....soccer mom tunes. I used to think they castrated Richie Sambora their music was so sterile......

I'd be lying if I said that mixed trailer version didn't give me goosebumps. Will be epic when it comes out. First The Avengers and then Star Wars......should be a great, great year!! :-)
