Recently listed a great batch of CDs on eBay including mega-rare gems like

 

ALYZE- Playin' With Desire (ORIGINAL 1992 Desire Records pressing... not to be confused with, or compared to, the 2005 Retrospect edition)

 

THE TAKE- New Language (This is a phenomenal piece of 80s AOR, with all the melodic punch of Surrender, FM, Aviator, Heartland and Hybrid Ice. Brilliant production. Don't let the "Thought Industry" style Dali cover scare you away... this rare indie from 1992 has nothing to do with prog metal and everything to do with melodic keyboard-driven AOR with soaring vocals!)

 

MACH- Lock, Stock & MACH! (Absolutely the rarest of the rare. First-time ever on eBay, this Michigan 1990 (!) indie rocks like New Tattoo, old VH or a better version of Tora Tora!)

 

HERAZZ- Boogeyman (If decadent, shout-it-out loud gang vocals are your musical forte, don't be scared of this indie "Boogeyman"! Like a mix of Mad Margritt, Ratt and Steelheart! Dyin' to be crank up loud!)

 

LAPOINTE- Tie You Up (Breath-taking indie AOR from Canada's Lapointe... perfect for anyone looking to catch a Kevin Chalfant/Tim Feehan/Eddie Schwartz style melodic buzz.)

 

THIN DISGUISE- Self-Titled (This US-indie is the closest I've heard to vintage (mid-80s) Great White! You won't believe the vocalist's similarity to Jack Russell! And the band rocks like XYZ or Warrant throughout.... phenomenal!)

Given that Koogs could've been far more blunt (such as, "Retrospect Records sells bullshit bootlegs") and nobody would have faulted him, since his reputation on HH is unsullied and Sam's is sullied beyond repair, I thought he handled the situation pretty well, politely stating that the Alyze he has up for auction is an original, not the Retrospect "reissue." The only thing rampant around here is Recordjnky's quick defense of his brother anytime someone dares implies he sells bootlegs. (Psssst...he does...pass it on.) Sorry, my friend, while your loyalty to your brother is admirable, it's also blind. Time to accept that he ain't a saint, he's a bootleg artist, pure and simple.

gimmie a break, whether or not Sam is my brother makes no difference, i know what he is doing and what he's got and what some of you people's intentions are -- i can go back through hundreds of posts and see whats going on and work out your personalities amongst some of you -- but i sincerely hope you people would defend YOUR brothers and sisters should they be under unwarranted attacks REGARDLESS of whether you think they are saints or not -- which by the way he's far from it. But it just gets so old -- all the BS that goes on amongst the message boards on this site!! which is why i avoided them for so long. I've read literally thousands of descriptions on E Bay which have a statement to the effect "I do not sell CDR's or bootlegs". I also suppose, based on what I've read in this thread, that these statements are all making reference to "UNNAMED", who has developed a reputation for such articles based on past practices!!! Or, is it just because the statement was posted on this board? I intentionally used the reference "UNNAMED" because I have no intention of directing my post to any individual......of course, I cannot circumvent anyone with feelings of guilt or with a soiled reputation in that regard from inserting his/her own name into this post and running with it.

 

Really.......if one is so sensitive to such statements, one must certainly have a guilty conscience!!!???? Are all such statements pointing the finger at any particular individual??? I think not. Not any more so than the original statement concerning "BOOTLEGS and SKETCHY REISSUES" posted here.

 

Most certainly, whenever reference is made that a particular title is an original or genuine release, when posting on this board, it should not to be taken as an accusation directed toward any particular person. Unless of course, while reading the post, one is looking in a mirror?

 

Actually, I thought Tony's statement was certainly appropriate, he was merely wanting to reassure potential bidders that what he was selling was the genuine article.

 

 

The statement "if the shoot fits....." also seems appropriate!!!

 

As a sidebar, why would any prolific, reputable high volume seller, his/her advertising agents and/or advocates be concerned with the thoughts of just a few groupies sitting around talking or grumbling over his business practices. Surely these few insignificant bottom feeders and groupies have no effect on his/her sales......they are a mere handful of misfits compared to the literal thousands worldwide that are regular, faithful and genuinely satisfied customers........why all the concern? I've read postings stating to the effect "I don't care what you @#$%! think, I make $$$$$$ a week and #*&$@ you people, you don't mean #@*%$ to me and I don't care what the @!&% you think etc etc etc etc.........why take the time and trouble to justify anything if you really don't care what people think? Why try to justify anything if all is well? Why shore up a reputation that isn't damaged? If sales are booming, why the concern with non-buyers anyway?......no one pays any attention to these comments and postings anyway.....they don't affect business or sales.......why.....what.....how come......etc etc etc........that's what comes to mind when I read these things.

 

Why the concern over this little crowd of "nobodies" and "non buyers" sitting over here in the corner!!! They aren't hurting my business, look how much money I'm making, ask my faithful followers......I've got customers worldwide flooding my mailbox with cash. Why is the General Motors of CD sales and their advertising agents always concerned about what a minimal number of uninformed, poorly educated, impressionable misfit inexpensive procuring used product consumers think or say? I know this is slightly off topic, but it needs to be said. A few months ago I threw a bid on the Widow – Gone too Far CD, but unfortunately I was outbid by Sam. That’s the way the game is played, he was willing to pay more so he gets the CD. (So far so good) Now this is where things get a little fishy. He beat me out of the CD and ended up paying a little over $80 for it. Oddly enough he throws the CD on ebay a few weeks later and gets around $60. I guess that sucks that he lost out on some money. But wait, he throws another one on ebay a few weeks later and gets even less than the previous one. I’d be lying if I said I hate to point fingers, so I’ll just say it. What a bunch of freakin’ bootlegs! You would have to be a complete idiot (or someone’s brother) not to side with me on this one. And why the hell would you keep throwing a Straightway – Black or White CD on ebay if you were only getting $15 a piece for them? That’s a tough one….. maybe they are uh…. bootlegs!

 

I got into collecting when I was 17 (just over 5 years ago) Man it was so exciting, tracking down CDs that not many have heard or even heard of before. Listening to an original indie for the first time, and just knowing that you had done the work to track this baby down. I hope some of you can understand where I am coming from. I really wish things could go back to the way they were. Before certain individuals started selling their souls.

Anyways anyone with a half a brain can see what this guy does. Its a disgrace, and an insult to our intelligence. The reason why this individual gets so defensive and mad is because hes caught with his hands blatantly in the cookie jar.

 

Keep scamming collectors......if you can sleep good at night knowing your ripping off collectors more power to ya.

 

Also lucky for me I find most of these "collectibles" overhyped shit. Lame productions, and mediocre choruses. I downloaded the "Alyze" CD and found it a snoozefest. Same with Rock Boulevard. 500 for that? LOL I wouldnt pay 10 bucks!
