One of my all time fave slashers! What does Special Edition mean in this case?

Supermarket bargain bin pickup: a $5.99 "Horror Collection" of four low-budget flicks (it's a double sided DVD w/2 films on each side). The movies are "Mortuary" (directed by Tobe Hooper of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" fame), plus three others I never heard of: "Bloody Mary," "Memory" and "Wages of Sin." Who knows, all 4 may suck, but what the hell, it was cheap.

Another one of those irresistible cheap "4 on 1" movie collections. Picked this one up mainly for "T-Force," which looks like a hilariously cheap "Terminator" wanna-be. It even stars Erin Gray of "Buck Rogers" fame!

Yea, I'm addicted to these B-Movie "Collector's Sets." How can you resist 4 movies for $5.99? Even if only one of the four movies turns out to be worth a sh*t, you got your money's worth.

A couple years back I picked up a "Horror Classics" 2 DVD set. So far I've only made it through disc one.

Disc One:

-----------------

Horror Hotel

A Bucket Of Blood

The Devil's Hand

I Bury The Living

Disc Two:

------------------

The Wasp Woman

The Indestructible Man

The Ape

Dementia 13

* I really need to open disc two...

Coolness, Dave. I have a box set called "50 Horror Classics" which has a couple of the films you listed in it ("Dementia 13," "The Wasp Woman")... it's mainly cool old drive-in movie fare from the '50s and '60s... I've barely scratched the surface of it, it'll probably be years before I watch all 50.

Stopped at Shop-Rite today and after a bit of digging in their DVD bargain bin, came up with a couple of $3.99 horror cheapies for the coming Halloween season...

(Never saw "Dark Harvest" 1 or 2, but I should be OK...I doubt there's a tremendous amount of back story in a series about killer scarecrows...)

2001maniacs.jpg

Robert "Freddy Krueger" Englund as a redneck cannibal? Sold! :P

That movie is great. Lots of gore, naked chicks... perfect!

The sequel is out, 2001 Maniacs Feild Of Screams.

What more do you really need for a great movie, eh?

Didn't know about the sequel, thanx for the tip. Will have to keep an eye peeled for it (assuming I dig this one of course)...

The nude chicks and gory deaths are cool but still a shocker.

Can we have a thread for "What DVDs did you nearly buy this week?"? I almost picked up 300, Hancock (such a great movie) and Hellboy 2 today, only £3 each, but decided not to incur the wrath of the missus, so put them back on the shelf.
