The Lincoln Lawyer

a good movie about a lawyer defending a client who's accused of raping only to find out that it's all a survival game about the lawyer himself. somehow what looks promising at the start and in the middle, turns out to be a decent cliche predictable ending, but overall still a good and interesting one and will keep you seated till the end. I expect more twist from the story and the villain though, hmm

7/10

With the kids last night:

"A Fairly OddMovie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!" -- live action Nickelodeon flick in which the star of the "Fairy OddParents" cartoon, Timmy Turner, is now 23 years old (!) and continues to act like a kid (he's still in fifth grade!) -- because if he shows any signs of growing up, his Fairy Godparents will be taken away from him. Of course, evil forces are conspiring kick him into adult hood in order to steal the power of his fairies. Kind of a disturbing premise if you think about it, but since this is Nickelodeon we're talking about, it's kid-friendly and played for laughs.

Yes, these are the kinds of things you have to watch once in a while when you have kids in your house. :D

For the parents, there's a brief guest appearance by Jason "Seinfeld" Alexander (who must need a new agent if this is the sort of thing he's reduced to) as the live action version of "Cosmo."

Social Network - A good movie but not a great one but if Zuckerberg is half as bad as he's portrayed he is a real son of a bitch.

2012 - I'd seen it before but it was even better the second time.

i've watched Social Network and I'm gonna say it's a great movie.

btw which part of Zuckerberg-is-bad do you think he is ? because i think when he took the Winklevoss' project, he basically extended his original idea on Facemash and when he has problem with Saverin, that's because Saverin dropped the idea of repaying the server and forced Zuckerberg to find a new investor.

but afterall, both Winklevoss brothers and Saverin was paid enough cash for the lawsuit eventually, as far as I recall :christmas:

I think they were paid a ton of money but he did steal the twins idea and yes he made it better but he took their idea and then led them along while he was making the website. He totally screwed his friend Eduardo. He seemed to be enamored with Sean Parker for some reason but he didn't bring much to the table but he has 7% ownership.

but I think Sean Parker is the one who motivates him to go for a bigger investor and convinced him not to sell the company too fast. If Parker wasn't there, probably Zuckerberg won't be as rich as today, so Parker's position as his financial advisor is pretty crucial for him I guess. Well yeah, back on the movie, I first think that this Facebook saga is too boring to watch but somehow this movie is a fun one to follow

"The Notorious Bettie Page"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd252I7A6NE

Docu-drama about the troubled life, rise to fame and controversy surrounding the famed early 50's pin-up model. Gretchen Mol (hot stuff!!) does a great job as Bettie in this mostly-black & white period piece that includes plenty of T&A but still manages to avoid coming off as sleazy. It's amazing what was considered "porn" in the 1950s, because nowadays most people wouldn't even bat an eyelash at the kind of photos Bettie appeared in.

I see your point but Eduardo also wanted to find big investors and Zuckerberg didn't until Parker came along. To me it was if Parker spoke his language(Computer Geek) and Eduardo didn't and that eventually made Eduardo expendable.

I slightly forgot the plot but as far as I remember, Eduardo wanted Mark to quickly farm some cash through advertisement when Facebook is becoming bigger but Parker denied the idea because he wanted this to be free as long as possible until it becomes much bigger than it was, possibly reached Europe and Asia.

Eventually, Eduardo threatened Mark to shut down the server and liquidate his $1.000 because he felt that his initial investment doesn't generate any income at all thus this led the dilution of Saverin's share after they sealed a deal with Peter Thiel to replace the losing capital.

The Devil's Advocate (1997)

an intriguing wolf-in-sheep clothing movie, a dark journey to the mind of young hotshot's lawyer, great and wicked acting by Al Pacino, also a good act of Keanu Reeves, and you get the chance to see couple of nude scenes of Charlize Theron and Connie Nielsen :christmas: I forgot how brilliant this classic flick until yesterday, definitely one of the best of the year!

"Frankenstein Unbound" (1990)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDqQERyhfqI

A bizarre sci-fi/horror mix in which a 21st Century scientist - and his talking high-tech car - accidentally travels through time (a side effect of an experiment he's working on) and lands in the 1800s, where he gets mixed up with Mary Shelley, Lord Byron, and Dr. Frankenstein and the Creature. Weird but cool little flick that marked the return of B-Movie legend Roger Corman to the director's chair after nearly 20 years away.

Great cast including John Hurt as the scientist, Raul Julia as Dr. Frankenstein, Bridget Fonda as Mary Shelley, and even the late Michael Hutchence of INXS fame in a bit part as Percy Shelley.

Just watched Piranha yesterday. Thought of Keith when I watched it lol....it was a decent little movie I was laughing during most of it. Check it out if you want to see small killer fish, lots of breasts and an appearance by Doc Brown!

Which is what is too be expected/required for us who rember the heyday of horror films through the 80's...

On topic:

The Flock-Richard Geere's 8mm knockoff. Basically a glorified and longer SVU episode.

Rage-This one should tickle master Keith. Lot's of bad cgi, titties and kooky bubbling flesh...

GULLIVERS TRAVELS (Jack Black) good on the actors for getting a paycheck, otherwise a waste of time and resources, avoid
