New Releases from Retrospect!

Retrospect Records

Recommended Posts

It's been a slow couple of years but we have a plethora of releases coming your way starting with these:

THREE NEW RELEASES are now available from Retrospect Records:

FREEWAY MAD: New British Melodic Hard Rock band with a sound deeply rooted in early 80s NWOBHM. Very likely to play Rocklahoma and tour the USA for the first time in 2015.

RAGDOLL 'Rewound': This Australian Power Trio plays an excellent mix of 80's-style Hard Rock but with a modern updated vibe. Most bands get it wrong - these guys do it RIGHT. Trust me , there's a reason they have played Rocklahoma multiple times. KICK ASS!!

MYSTERY '2013': With an average age of 16-17 , this young Australian Melodic Metal band have toured the world and played multiple festivals with some of the biggest acts on the planet. Mega-potential with this lot and a nicely packaged CD/DVD set.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT OUR 50% OFF SALE TOO!!!

\m/

UP NEXT:

RECKLESS 'Disorderly Conduct' (1991) - Second unreleased album from the band who borught you "No Frills" in 1987.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE - 80s Hair Metal from Florida

RUNAWAY - 80s AOR / MHR from ST LOUIS

plus a bunch of re-prints that y'all were asking for!

Whenever I click any of the links I just get about 15 songs playing over the top of each other, on all 3 links. Anyone else getting this, or is it an issue with my internet/browser?

I get that, too. Every time I browse Retrospect I have to mute my stereo, because it's loud, and I have to wait for the samples to play out, as the little players have no buttons for me to pause them. It happens on both IE and Chrome.

Crazy. I never used to have an issue on the site (except it could be a little slow), but I guess it would be a couple of years now since I was there. :(

yeah sorry about that guys, we really need to make changes to the Quicktime sound samples. Firefox is fine but other browsers are problematic with the samples all playing at once over the top of each other. I hope to fix that soon. Thanks for hanging in there!

    • This is kind of a twofer. I just got my Pioneer VX-90 Betamax back yesterday. Cost me a fortune to get it fixed. Well worth it to have such a beast of a machine. Before that I only had low to mid tier Beta machines. I am very excited. The first tape I played was Quiet Riot: Bang Thy Head. Watching that video I found myself in awe of how awesome Quiet Riot were during those first few years. How is it possible for a band to be that awesome and have it all go so wrong so quickly? By the time I heard about Quiet Riot in the early 2000s they were basically considered a joke. Sadly, I kind of just accepted that as fact. I was a casual fan at best and never really looked much deeper than the radio hits. That was a mistake. I am lucky that I at least got to see them live a couple times. I didn't appreciate it at the time. That was really cool of Kevin and the other guys to sign my ticket stub.
    • From Bravewords... Legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) has issued an update after he was shot multiple times earlier this week in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting. Jake shared the following via social media: "Checking. Is this on? Been awhile since I posted here. Let’s see: "I deeply appreciate all the concern and well wishes. Makes everything going on a little better. To clarify, I was shot three times. I was on my way back home from walking my dog Coco (I didn’t name him so don’t!) Don’t want to go into details now, I’m tired, but I feel relatively very lucky. The police found 15 shell casings at the scene which means he emptied his clip on me. I could only dodge so many so one bullet went through my forearm, one through my foot, and one in the back which broke a rib and damaged a lung. Priority now is to keep draining my lung till it’s done crying. Then we can pull that tube out and concentrate on the more minor injuries. "And by the way, Coco’s fine and appreciates your inquiries!"   Police released a statement regarding the shooting, which occurred early morning on October 15. The statement reads: "Officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Alora Street. Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation." In a statement to TMZ, Ozzy Osbourne said, “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be ok.” Lee played with Ozzy from 1983-1987 and was featured on the albums Bark At The Moon and The Ultimate Sin.
    • I fuckin' knew you would be the one to answer.  But you're not wrong. ;}
    • This is one of the songs Erik and Jona wrote for the next Skid Row album before he handed his notice in
    • So I have this info from a reliable inside source. There will be a new CL album at the start of 2025, and Danny is also working with Chez Kane on her third album which should come out late 2025.
    • In the mail from our old pal Stormspell: Timeless Haunt - Dark For Life Icarus Witch - Capture The Magic (2CD w/Roses on White Lace EP and bonus tracks)
    • Suck My Kiss - Red Hot Chili Peppers
    • Fear No Evil - Grim Reaper
    • Too many things to mention here.....
