H.E.A.T. - Studio Diary 2013 (recording of new album)

Will be intresting to see how the coming album holds up to the previous ones, with Dalone now out of the picture. He was one of the main songwriters in the band and a great guitarist to boot. Not that Eric Rivers is a slouch either, but I'm still getting used to the idea of H.E.A.T as a one guitarist band.
I'm wondering if they plan on eventually taking in something new to fill Dave's boots? Maybe it's not needed, because from what I've heard they are actually as good as ever live now, with Jona Tee evidently playing some of Dave Dalone's parts on the keys.

My feeling about the new album is that it's gonna be another killer album, because these guys has never failed to deliver so far and the snippets from the diaries sound just as expected, killer. I wonder how much of the material is taken from the A.T.N sessions (from which I think there was actually more than 20 songs recorded) and how much is more recently written material. With Dave Dalone they lost another prolific songwriter (remember Kenny Leckremo was also one of the main composers in the band until his descent) and I just hope this won't affect the quality of their future material too much.

I'll throw the question out to the fans here, of which I know there are a few. Would you prefer H.E.A.T continuing as a one guitarist band, or should they hire another one? Personally I would probably prefer them continuing this way, as long as it works. They are my fave band of the last few years, and I don't like changes. Having Erik replace Kenny was difficult enough, and although he proved (contrary to my expectations) to be a phenomenal replacement I just don't like the thought of another new guy in the band. Maybe it's just me, but hey, if you are a hardcore fan you are... ;)

Like you said, if it works this way I'd say stick with it. You don't really need a 6 man band, do ya?

Nice, 2:14 mins into studio diary part 2 has a Black Velvet by Alannah Myles feel to it. Maaaaan I just hope the final mix will sound EXACTLY like that because often times guitars get buried in the mix I feel or the sound loses its overall punch during mixing and mastering. The way it sounds here would be just perfect, big and ''kinda'' raw
