One of my college friends had a Chevette. She once drove a bunch of us all the way from Staten Island to the Meadowlands in NJ in it to go to a Metallica concert. I was squashed in the hatchback/cargo section the whole way there. OUCH! I felt every bump. Haha.

That had to be a sight, you are not a short guy.

One of the girls in my high school class had a "shovette". Whoever owned it before her put American flag stickers on the hood which made it even classier. But we never complained when it meant not having to walk somewhere.

I owned a 1986 Chevette for about a year...until I had to slam on the brakes for a German Sheppard crossing the road behind a car that just pulled out of a driveway...I never say the poor bastard until he crossed the white line about 20ft in front of me...I knocked him about 30ft down the road...and then a 78 Lincoln Continental knocked me damn near as far down the road...the vette looked like a pretzel...I walked away with a sore neck...good thing it happened soon after leaving a red light stop, maybe 25-30 MPH or I would have had more than a sore neck, I remember crawling out of the car and looking behind me all I could see was this huge chrome bumper...as for the dog he jumped up and ran off somewhere...the moral here is it's better to drive a Lincoln than a Chevette ...

Yeah, I swear they practically needed a crowbar to get me out of there when we got to the concert. Never again! Haha.

I like the spoiler.

Hey, where is that picture taken at? Reminds me of some of the villages in Turkey.

Not sure I really wanna know the answer to my question... But here it goes anyway:

Were you just sitting around one afternoon and the though of a Chevette entered your mind..? If this wasn't the case, please feel free to explain your motivation to start this thread.

I'm not too sure. I guess something got me to thinking back to High School and that fad just entered my mind and how crazy it was to try to "hot rod" a chevette. maybe I seen one drive by on the road or something. But random thoguht enter my mind all the time

who could forget the Yugo

One of my brother's friends owned a Yugo in the late 80s. I never even tried to get in that thing. I'm over six feet tall, I would've had to pop my head out of the roof like Dino on "The Flintstones" :rofl2:
