Haha. It took me this long to finally track down a hard copy of their debut, but yeah, I'm with you mate. Excellent album and I personally cannot wait to hear a new one already. Both songs sound great, particularly 'Stay.' Can't wait.

Illuminate is a stunning album - even better than the debut.

Basically just mix the best parts of Safetysuit & Simple Plan.

Not a filler in sight on this - love it.

Never heard of them, but the above comparisons sound like my kinda thing. They're not like Destrophy are they?!

Tried to buy this now. Good price if I can find something else to buy here:

Anyone got a cheaper place to buy it?

OK, this album has inspired me to my first summary of the year.

The debut (which seems to have passed by everyone on this board bar Geoff) was pretty awesome...virtually every track was a winner...perfectly crafted pop/rock with great hooks and melodies....so it was always going to tough to top that album, but with 'Illuminate' I think they might have done just that -

1. Four Leaf Clover - (9) - perfect opener. Big hook. Sounds like Simple Plan at their best

2. Stay - (9.25) - even better...continuing the huge melody and hooklines...great pop/rock

3. All The People - (8) - atmospheric track - to be honest this would be a hit in the UK if the masses heard it, but lacks a killer hook imo.

4. Wait Forever - (10) - difficult to know how a modern rock track can sound any better than this? Amazing hook

5. Thousand Miles - (8.5) - another cool rocker, nice chorus and harmonies

6. Unbreakable - (9.5) - awesome rocker. Great hook. Sounds almost like a more melodic version of Story Of The Year!

7. Night Skies - (8.5) - pleasant track with a smooth melody - another winner

8. Best Kept Secret - (9.25) - starts out acoustic, then full sound comes in, by chorus 2 you are treated to some glorious harmonies. Love it

9. The Awakening - (9) - another very Simple Planish song. Vey good too, with yet another excellent chorus.

10. Illuminate - (10) - amazing atmospheric track. If there was any justice in the world this would be booming out across every festival in the land and then Leona Lewis would cover it and make them all millionaires! lol

Overall : 91%

One of my highest scores so far this year :-)

I haven't got my copy yet, but am getting a bit irritated waiting for it to be delivered! I would definitely given the title-track a 10...

My balls too have shriveled to the size antelopes in anticipation for this one. Really can't wait to hear this. I agree with Glen that the debut is fantastic, so if this is as good or even better I MUST hear it. :)

Got my copy last week, ordered it new from an amazon seller (who turned out was in Portugal) and it arrived within the week. 'Illuminate' the best track on the album and one of the best songs I have heard this year so far.

Something that gets Geoff this wound up must be worth picking up. On a side not, Geoffery, how big-a-balls do antelopes have, and why do you know this? I thought Matty-boo was into the bestiality shit.

This rating is only going north, cos for the past day ive been singing 'Thousand Miles' which I initially thought was a slightly weaker track, but actually has one of the best hooks.

This is crazy and frikkin' melodically awesome, I think this is even better than the new HEAT and Safetysuit, anyone on the same boat here? ain't no filler spotted, could finish the top fivers, still early but definitely should be in the top ten!

'Stay', 'Wait Forever', 'Thousand Miles', 'Unbreakable', and 'Illuminate' are possibly the upper cards here

need to buy this asap but damn, why so many good albums are so hard to buy ? :(

Mr N (what is your name by the way??), you should get the debut at the same time as it is as good IMO.

Not sure this will top HEAT but it is very good :-))

    • I have learned not to assume these kinda releases are stand alone so I won't be buying the digital single, that's for sure. Been bitten with that one before. And if it does end up being standalone, well the digital single will still be available later. I don't like buying anything digitally, so only do it when there is no other choice.
    • Fairh In You - Jack Russell
    • Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything
    • Faith in the Heartland-Journey
    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
    • Named my HH self after the song Auslander on the album Stain. Love that track. Really like the whole album. It's like Living Colour's "Slave to the Grind" or "Dog Eat Dog".
    • From Frontiers: TRACKLIST: 1 Awesome God 2 Stand Up 3 Warrior 4 There You Are 5 Speak His Name 6 Why God Brought Me Here 7 Praying 8 It's Up to You 9 Holy Moment 10 Leaning on the Cross 11 Jesus Christ --- When a musical family gets together to record, magic can happen and this is what the VAN ZANT’s are here for! Brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (respectively current lead vocalist of Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and founding member of .38 Special) were able to find room in their busy schedules for the first time in 1998, recording their collaboration album “Brother to Brother”: a tribute to their late brother and Lynyrd Skynyrd original singer and founding member Ronnie. Such release was highly acclaimed between the press and fans worldwide and brought the duo to record a follow up album, simply entitled “II” in 2001. Their collaboration during the years did not stop as they tapped their feet in a more Country-oriented style with the release of “Get Right With the Man” (certified Gold in the USA in 2005) and later on with “My Kind of Country” in 2007. Now the brothers once again reinvent themselves, offering a Christian-themed album encompassing their Rock and Blues musical roots (and with a touch of Country for good measure). The result “Always Look Up” is made up of songs that will touch the listener’s heart and soul, with an emotional depth that is truly second to none in today’s musical landscape. Experience the soul touching that only the music from the Van Zant family, can provide. You will see why they are icons of the American South, and musical heroes to millions around the globe!
