Entrepreneurs

I'm sure most people have thought about starting their own business. Everyone gets a brilliant idea that has the potential to make money, but most never follow through. I have had many ideas. Unfortunately none of them have worked out. Still I have the desire to be an entrepreneur. There are so many things I would like to do. Just in the music business I would like to have a record label, a hybrid site of this and Sleaze Roxx, a site that sells music, and maybe even a club for glam bands to play in Tulsa. I would like to own my own brewery and maybe even have my own hot sauce company. I would also like to break into the adult entertainment industry. That would be swell to be this generations Hef or Bob Guccione.

Anyone else with bright entrepreneurial ideas?

I had an idea very similar to Fantasty Football before Fantasy Football was big business. That was enough of a kick in the teeth to convince me I'll never be an entrepreneur.

I've had cool ideas here and there - These days I would especially like to do something with photography. Nature and porn would be awesome... but especially to travel the globe with a camera would be cool. In all honesty I don't think I could handle porn from behind the camera. I honestly don't think I could do it. In front of it, yeah, sure. Rewind 10 years ago and I would love to have been a part of the scene.

But going out on your own with your own business idea is such a huge leap. Obviously plenty of people are successful, but the ratio of failures to those successes would be pretty astronomical. Call me negative or pessimistic, or just call me a realist, but I've never taken the leap and I'm sad to say I doubt I ever would. :(

Ideal lifestyle - to travel the globe as a photographer in stunning tropical locations by day (which would have to include a surf or two daily - after all you can't snap photos all day), and then write novels in my hut on warm tropical nights. Oh to dream...

Good luck if you do, though, mate.

After visiting a chinese resturaunt on the weekend, my idea is to sell knives and forks to the chinese.

Haha. Yeah, I can kind of use chopsticks these days, but it's just not point. Why use something so f*cking difficult where there are easier ways to do it? They're so frustrating and illogical, especially for larger food items.

I never bother if I'm the only one, but if I ever go out for Chinese and someone on the table orders a fork and spoon I'll always get in on that action.

Funny that - i had this conversation the other night. I was able to use chopsticks for the first time in my life.... but then went for a spoon instead.

I want to market a marital aid that looks like Elvis' head. It'll have three speeds - "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel," and "Jailhouse Rock."

Quality. What will you call it? I'd suggest the "Are You Lonesome Tonight?". You could have a five-speed version with 'All Shook Up' and 'Too Much' as well.

I'm sure we could get 'Stuck on You' in there somewhere...

After working for the Decepticons for 3 years now I have determined I must make my own way. I despise working for a company that looks at me as more of a liability than asset. It's easy to say I should just look for another employer. I wholeheartedly agree. The problem is more and more companies are adopting the Walmart model. Quality employers are dwindling.

I'm ready to start my own business. The problem is I have no idea how. Anyone here an entrepreneur? I want to learn from you. I'm at the point I would be willing to take an unpaid internship.
