Female fronted hard rock from Sweden. Apparantly they had 3 albums? All are near impossible to find. The 2006 album 'Freeway' was a Japanese release I think. Glen I have sent you PM about the first album from 2003.

She's cute, but I've never been a big fan of the hardware on women's faces. Just not for me I guess.

How about your nuts? ... :gone:

:rofl2:

Sent this link to a few of the chaps here yesterday and it looks like this seller's replenished his supplies:

http://cgi.ebay.com/USER---USER-OF-A-COMMO...214076007r16565

We got free shipping yesterday, but it looks like he's changed shipping to us$3 now, for international shipping - still ain't bad at all if you like what you hear. :)

I picked up one of them when it was still free shipping. I hope it's good but as Geoff said it's not a bad price at all so I'm not too worried, and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Man this arrived in world record time. As I said in another thread, brand new and sealed with bonus track, us$9.99 all up. Great deal. And the tunes are great too.

I must admit when I heard the first verse I was all like, wow, not sure about this - a bit almost grungy sounding type of modern sound... but then the chorus hit. Wow. Awesome, and then the rest of them came along and did the same. Not the best verses on the planet, but some killer choruses making for some great tunes. Very catchy modern rock disc. Thumbs up. :)

I'm pretty sure Justin was saying it's the same CD just with a different track running order... so I'll say yeah but Justin will be able to confirm this 100% soon. I forgot to mention, it's a 2 disc set with a DVD too. :)

And I agree. I think there was one weak song out of the 12 - great disc.

So you got my hopes up that this would make a record trek to my mailbox as well. I open it up yesterday and...nothing. Oh well, at least the album sounds like it's something to look forward to.

  • 3 weeks later...

Finally got this. Really like it. My wife heard it, loved it and promptly stole it from me and put it out in her car.

HAHA! Yeah, it's a good one. Got it caught in my CD player for a few spins in a row on my trip (it was about the only CD that my c*nt of a stereo would play) and it definitely holds up to repeated listens.

    • Couple of okay songs, but otherwise as expected above. No surprises, exactly what you'd expect from these guys in 2022.
    • Not every song is a hit, but another pretty decent one mini-album. I like some of the gear on this one.  Villain of the Story     -    Divided 1    .    Never Again 2    .    Jester 3    .    Karma 4    .    Under My Skin 5    .    Losing Control 6    .    Wrong 7    .    Don't Go 8    .    Divided
    • Not sure if folk know, but they got back together and released an EP this year. Anberlin     -    Silverline 1    .    Two Graves 2    .    Nothing Lost 3    .    Body Language 4    .    Asking 5    .    Circles It's not amazing, but I do really like this song from it-
    • Not an amazing album, but pretty solid with a couple of very nice tunes-     They have a very comprehensive youtube channel for anyone unsure and wanting to give everything a listen- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYECJVZLOQebjAuj_HMKLjg
    • Credit must be given where it's due, and I do like the effort put into this one. To be frank, I thought the first 5 songs were pretty shit. All the while I was listening, wondering what became of these guys. The most frustrating song of those first few is 'Eternal.' I wrote in my little ratings thing that it almost sounds to me like these guys are trying to sound bad because, otherwise, this is a pretty good song. But it's just done poorly.  Anyway, I want to be fair to these guys and I have to say, that from song 6 the mood in the room seems to lift and they start to give it a fair crack. They drop the mopey post-grunge blandom and have a crack at some decent melodic type of rock. Spoiler alert - I don't actually think there's a keeper track on the album, but holy shit they get close.  'Temples,' 'Alive,' 'Heaven Knows' and 'Someone's watching over me' are all, four in a row, good, strong songs. And then 'Love Is The Only Place' hits and I was taken aback. Unfortunately, they're not the band they used to be and I am 100% convinced they couldn't hit the heights of the debut even if they did everything possible to try... but goodness do they get close with this track. A bit of polish and finesse and this one wouldn't be a bad stab at what they did so well on their debut.  Sadly, the album's worst song follows in 'The Undertaker' - what a piece of shit, lol. Really grates me because this is the discussion point I've had with christians that aggravates me the most, and it's in a song, so naturally I hate it. And then 'Afterlife' isn't amazing, but pretty decent. Before the album finishes on a high, with one of the best songs on the album with a nice hook - 'Strange New World.' So overall, like I say, credit where it's due. After the first few songs I was close to closing up shop and calling this a pass, but thankfully, they took me on a ride and it was pretty cool. They're a dim shadow of the band they used to be, to be totally fair, but I like that they showed a bit of fight with this album. Better than expected.
    • The goddamn ADV fellow involved. Again.  But I like the song anyway. From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is proud to present Killer Kings' debut album entitled "Burn For Love". Killer Kings is a musical alliance between Gregory Lynn Hall (ex- 101 South) and Tristan Avakian (ex- Red Dawn, Queen Extravaganza).  Killer Kings first came about when Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino thought of bringing Gregory Lynn Hall, the former singer of 101 South, an AOR band who released three albums between 2000 and 2009, and Tristan Avakian, a very gifted guitarist who made his name in the '90s with the Melodic Hard Rock band Red Dawn, together. Musically, Killer Kings mixes the AOR approach of both Red Dawn and 101 South with some interesting twists.  Gregory Lynn Hall has had a long history in the music industry, in all areas from studio work to live performances. Gregory pounded the pavement in the thriving '80s Hollywood rock scene, playing at all the rock venues from Gazzaris to the Troubadour to The Country Club. He eventually left L.A. after the '80s hard rock scene died down and became a session vocalist, singing on many well known Christian artists' albums. In the late '90s, he returned to California and in 1999, while doing a session in Malibu, he met Roger Scott Craig (ex-Fortune) and thus 101 SOUTH was born. Shortly after the first 101 SOUTH album (2000) was finished, Gregory was asked to join the band Heaven & Earth as their bass player and toured with them to support the "Windows to the World" album. He would then go on to record two more acclaimed 101 SOUTH albums and one solo record in 2014. Tristan Avakian is a professional musician of many years with extensive experience in theater, touring, writing, and producing. Cirque du Soleil, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Biohazard are just some of the names from the varied genres and artists he has immersed himself in. He has also worked with producers such as Steve Thompson and Rob Thomas and joined the Queen Extravaganza show in the USA. He is also known for being the guitarist of '90s Melodic Hard Rockers Red Dawn, a band formed by former Rainbow keyboardist David Rosenthal, together with other two Rainbow alumni Chuck Burgi and Greg Smith, which released a critically acclaimed album for EMI Toshiba in Japan in 1993. Tracklisting: 1. Burn For Love 2. I Will Be Stronger 3. Higher 4. In A Different World 5. Another Night, Another Fight 6. Phoenix 7. Two Ships 8. Losing Me 9. Do Or Die 10. The Pains Of Yesterday 11. Ain’t No End In Sight Line-Up: Gregory Lynn Hall - Vocals Tristan Avakian - Guitars Alessandro Del Vecchio - Bass, Keyboards Nicholas Papapicco - Drums Additional Musicians: Tommy Denander - Keyboards on 'Burn For Love'
    • The search button is your friend, not your enemy...
    • Loving aspects of this. It's like a cassette tape, actually. I quite love most of the first half, but the second side balladry is a bit of a pass for me. The one exception being 'Smoking.' What a cool groove. I wasn't sure I was going to love it from the start, but man it's a cool song.  'Why Are You Calling Me Now' is an absolute belter, and I like the first 8 songs (except 'Time to let it go' and 'Don't go'). Good album with a very nice sound.
    • This is out and it's very nice. Interesting how far removed it is from a song like 'Midnight in Miami,' but it's still very good. I do enjoy.  Heart Of Gold     -    Beautiful Dangerous 1    .    To The Blue 2    .    Headache 3    .    Patient 4    .    Bright Lights 5    .    There's A Difference Between 6    .    Leave Just Yet 7    .    Something That Lasts Forever 8    .    September Sunburn 9    .    Backseat Daydream 10    .    Hometime 11    .    Bad Habit 12    .    Co-Dependent 13    .    And Something That Never Ends 14    .    Time Spent Driving This'd be my favourite tune off the new album.
