best ten year span in music?

For me it would have to be '75-'85 but the early Seventies had so much classic stuff as well.

I'm goin' with 1970 thru 1980! Many a hard rockin' release were first unleashed on the world in the 70's, Black Sabbath's 1st.....& more in the next years that followed....Robin Trower; Montrose (S/T); BOC; Mountain; many Deep Purple & Rainbow releases.....& many more!

Mine would be 75-85, give or take a few years.

 

 

I have always felt that changes and trends in modern music and pop culture are easier to see if you break the decades in the middle, instead of the starts. You might think a new decade would mean all new music, but change takes a few years to build. It's not like everyone put on a knit hat in 1990 or a zipper jacket in 1980!

Same here 82 metal bands started to get that heavy melodic sound and by 92 everything was deluted and worn out.

 

Then death metal!!!! Saweeet.
