T.A.X. - On The Run

This demo was done by the band T.A.X. which later was renamed Jaded Heart.

T.A.X. – On The Run – 1987 BWS RECORDS

I've had this demo CDR for years and still to this day, I cannot find the track list for these songs. The version I got has 15 tracks plus 1 tune that appeared on Jaded Heart's IV (Japanese Edition) album called Under The Skies Of Africa.

I know for a fact that the original TAX demo only had 7 songs on it. Someone added other Bormann rarities to fill space and they're actually quite good. Two tracks are from his earlier band High Voltage I think... I'm not sure where the others came from, but they're also great tunes.

I can name the tunes that I know that later were rewritten for Charade and Jaded Heart songs, but there's a few that I can't title. Gang Choruses are great, but they are horrible when you can't understand what they're all screaming. I can find info on this release in many places, but there's NEVER any info on the track list.

Does anyone out there know the REAL tracklist of the original 7 tracks from TAX?

Track 1 really has me stumped because I can barely make out the gang vocals...

Pre-Chorus

When I'm still asleep the spirit of ___ tugs at my soul

And in the southern night, the engine turns out of control

Chorus

_________________(?) (Gang Vocals)

Call For A Medic (?)

_________________(?) (Gang Vocals) Possibly saying "Can't Stand The Pain"?

I was given a drug... I was given a drug (?)

_________________(?)

I was sweatin so heavy (?)

_________________(?) (Gang Vocals) possibly saying "Fading Away"?

Please Let Go Of Me (?)

See if anyone can get this track title or chorus figured out

http://www.mediafire.com/?0ttuytxmjx5

So far I came up with these titles... Track 13, 14, and 15 are a little confusing too.

Track 13 sounds newer, but it's LIVE. Possibly from a Bormann solo concert?

Tracks 14 and 15 productions sound like they came off a bad tape or LP.

Bormann had a band called High Voltage in 1983-1985 and they released 3 albums. Tracks 14 and 15 possibly came off one of them?

High Voltage – Schei? Schule – 1983 EMI ELECTROLA

High Voltage – Believe Me – 1984 BWS RECORDS

High Voltage – Without Love – 1985 BWS RECORDS

1. Please Let Go Of Me (?)

2. She’s A Winner (The Loser Is Me)

3. Never Wanna Lose You (lyrics from Jaded Heart – Inside Out – Listen)

4. Wait For The Light (lyrics from Jaded Heart – Trust – Let It Rain)

5. Start Again (guitar riffs from Jaded Heart – Trust – Anymore)

6. Starlight (?)

7. Feelin’ So Good (?)

8. Are You Ready? (?)

9. Fly Fly Away (?)

10. Get Away (?)

11. Stand Up (?)

12. (I Can’t Live Anymore) Without You

13. You Ain’t Got No Shame (?) LIVE

14. When The Lightning Strikes (?) (Pre-T.A.X. – High Voltage band?)

15. Gateway To Your Heart (?) (Pre-T.A.X. – High Voltage band?)

If anyone wants to hear these or take a crack at the possible titles, PM me

Do you have the 7 track version, or the one like I got with the extra Bormann stuff?

Wow, I've never heard this but I would LOVE to. 'Inside out' is still my fave JH CD so I'd be super keen to hear what they did before that. Any chance of uploading all the songs? Thanks mate. :)

Sure, I'll upload what I have to mediafire and then provide the link to whoever wants it (I'll PM the link to you T-Bone)......T-bone has a couple additional songs, and there may be 1-2 additional differences in the tracklists of the two compilations, so maybe if someone downloads both versions, he/she might have just about everything T.A.X. ever created......Jeff.

Sorry, I misspoke, T-bone is right--> TAX produced only 7 demos, the remainder of the songs are from other sources. Obviously, I'm no friggin' expert (LOL).....Jeff.

Yes... The TAX demo was 7 tracks, but they could have recorded more tunes and cut that down to 7. The High Voltage albums look to be 7" singles to me. If you look at the covers, there's the band name, a song title, and then a smaller title which is probably the B Side. For all I know, the extra 5 tracks after the first 7 could be demo's from the Inside Out recordings?

I'd have to agree re: the High Voltage albums, based on the covers.......BTW, the chorus in track 13 sounds alot more like "Reach Out For/To Heaven," rather than "Halfway Heaven." For that song, my assumption is that people have been guessing at the title for some time, but I don't think it is "Halfway Heaven."

No matter what release these demo's were for, they were pretty damn good. I play them quite often

Thanks, T-BONE, and others here. Now that I have this, I'm going to find out which songs are from what releases. I have the Scheiss Schule single by High Voltage (VERY bad recording for mp3 but better than nothing). None of these songs appear on this download as it was all German language songs. I may even ask "The Source" if he can identify where these songs appear. For the record, when T.A.X. did On The Run, the band line up was:

Michael Bormann - vocals

Dirk Bormann - guitar

Peter Hanke - guitar

Michael Muller - bass

Axel Kruse - drums

Hello everyone, i would like to add some more information on this issue since it was bothering me as well until i gathered the pieces together!

1) The T.A.X. Demos have nothing (or almost nothing) to do with the official High Voltage releases. I have all High Voltage 7"'s and it seems to be different tracks (most High Voltage tracks were sang in the German Language)

2) The T.A.X. - On The Run official LP release has 10 tracks on it, not 7

3) None of the titles / songs mentioned above by all of you (from the TAX Demo's CD you are referring to) is actually included on the TAX LP. Yes, i was surprised too since i heard the TAX demo's, loved them and expected some songs to be on the actual LP!

4) Track list is as follow's:

Side A:

Caught of my dreams

Fool for you

On the run

Open your eyes

66

Side B:

Cheap n Nasty

We want it

Another Sight

Strange Land

Heartache

Now i am a big Bormann fan and unless i have the wrong copy in my hands, i believe the information i am giving you it's correct. I am also uploading pictures for all to see.

Hope this information was useful and if anyone has something to add / ask, feel free!

Cheers,

Charis
