Journey's got 1 option left

I guess if Journey really wants to be "civil rights minded" they haven't used old dude from Loud & Clear as a lead singer yet, what's his name? Harnell or Parnell, and also I heard a mid 80's aor group, and their singer might have done a better Perry then Perry, I think the were called Preview, but I don't have a clue who the vocalist is, maybe they could try a chick singer? like Kim Carnes, or maybe they could just let Journey be, and indulge themselves in new projects, Schon would be a great Attorney, maybe he could look into law school.

Or maybe they could carry on with Pineda on vocals, making awesome albums like the last one was.

How long do you guys think he's going to last? honestly?

Well given that I doubt he's a big personality/ego and probably doesn't get much say in anything regarding the bands direction then I reckon quite a few albums. Any vocalist that is just happy to sing his songs then go home, without being involved in writing/producing etc probably has a longer future than one with any ideas (i.e, JSS)....

Neal Schon could drive the Pope out of the vatican, now Im careful because I don't know him, but reading nothing but negative about someone(outside of politics) is generally a good indication of something! but I hear what your saying, as long as he's their good little bitch, and does only what he's told when he's told to, I guess that's a good case for him staying!

But being a good little bitch as you put it, didn't keep Bruce Kullick and Eric Singer's jobs in Kiss.

Sure Eric got to come back but he has to wear Peter's makeup and probably has to sign all autographs as "Peter Criss".

I wonder if Gene and Paul makes him introduce himself as Peter and talk in his best Brooklyn accent so fans think he's Peter.

That's funny, because I thought artistically, Revenge was the most sound Kiss album they ever did, and IMO the last quality Kiss album recorded, at least the last one I purchased, but I think the Journey thing could turn on its end real quick, that vocalist has already got what he needs, he could pretty much go do anything he wants now, he already got what he needed out of Journey.

Sorry mate I dont agree...From what ive read Pineda is well happy with Journey and Schon / Cain are in the process of writing new material for a 'rocking' new album. Im hoping for something a little heavier than 'Revelations' next time round. That would be great....more Frontiers styled.

Anyway how many records do you think have left in them? One..two?? I mean Schon's getting on a bit now. I would say 2 more albums and tours tops before they call it quits. My bet is that Pineda will be on both of them.

It's very hard to say, I think if they (somehow)could do a whole album 10 songs, that blow me away, all quality, a good heavy fresh edge, that might sell me, and them, I think not only can Pinneda do Steve Perry, he also has a much more aggresive edge to his voice, I think if Schoney Boy still has the will, he will utilize that edge!accompany it with some heavier licks, and tighter beats, I didnt hear that in Revelation, I started hearing it with Trial By Fire, thought Message Of Love was the start of something good, but little did I know!

Yeah but what you did hear with Revelation was the closest theyve come to the classic Journey sound that I love (ie Infinity, Evolution etc) for many a year....so that was just fine and dandy for me.

Agree tho that i'd like to hear a more rocking record next time.

    • Not really something that fully appeals to me, but I certainly don't see it as dogshit. If it came on the radio (not that I listen to radio) I certainly would not turn it off or skip it on a playlist.
    • Yeah, this whole thread offends me.
    • I'm liking that first track as well
    • Interesting song choice as far as covering Journey, but they likely wanted to go with a lesser known track.   I'm not a fan of the vocal effects nor the guitar tone.  It's a skip for me, but not as bad as I was expecting after reading the prior comments.
    • The nice voice will change for future records, according to Graywolf's Facebook page:

    • Ehh? Is this the same content retitled, or a completely different set of live material?... there's so much wrong with this announcement: This album was previously released as a very-limited CD/DVD.  It sold out instantly.  So we went back in and did a Dolby Atmos remaster/remix of the album, and all new artwork. But CD and DVD don't support Dolby Atmos. That's not a thing. Blu-Ray yes, but not CD or DVD. ALSO - Not only will this be available on streaming platforms but we will soon be announcing the release of Vinyl, CD/DVD, and Cassette.  Yes, you read that right.  Cassette.  Oh - let's talk about the video - the BluRay video has been upgraded to 4K for this release "Upgraded to 4k"... whut? Unless it was reshot using 4K cameras (or was originally shot in 4K but simply authored to blu-ray in SDR) and is completely reauthored to support HDR, a 4K UHD release may not actually be an improvement. Boomers saying boomer things...
    • From the Michael Sweet FB page: You asked for it!  And we listened!  To Hell with the Amps, our acoustic album, is being released worldwide on May 10 to streaming services everywhere.   This album was previously released as a very-limited CD/DVD.  It sold out instantly.  So we went back in and did a Dolby Atmos remaster/remix of the album, and all new artwork.   ALSO - Not only will this be available on streaming platforms but we will soon be announcing the release of Vinyl, CD/DVD, and Cassette.  Yes, you read that right.  Cassette.  Oh - let's talk about the video - the BluRay video has been upgraded to 4K for this release.   There are so many exciting things to come with this release.  Stay tuned here and at Stryper.com We are looking forward to taking this acoustic album on the road starting May 30.
    • May I introduce a Swiss singer who is obviously not yet represented here (perhaps for reasons): Seraina Telli. I don't understand how you can make an official music video in portrait format, but I like the sound. 2015 - 2019: Leader of the metal band Burning Witches with successful European tours. She was a founding member and also co-songwriter on the first two studio albums. Since 2019, she has been touring solo and with her own band Dead Venus. 2022: Debut solo album 'Simple Talk' reaches number 2 in the Swiss charts. She toured Europe with CoreLeoni (fall 2022) and The New Roses (spring 2023). If you're interested, you can check out her YouTube-Channel.
