"Dollhouse"

Looks like FOX has finally called it quits with Dollhouse:

http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/11/11/dollh...-canceled/33404

I'm not suprised to be honest as 2 million viewers just don't cut it.

Of course sticking it on Friday night wasn't smart and they should of put it together with Fringe and left it on Tuesday and they would of had less competition and rating would of been better. Then again I think the show just went over to many peoples heads and didn't have enough of the pop culture funny side that Buffy and Angel and even Firefly had.

I hope they do what they originally said and at least finish the 13 episodes and show all of them.

The only problem with this is they now only have two episodes to finish up the entire season with.

This is what happened to Angel and although that finale was incredible they jumped to that point way to quickly since they only had two episodes to put it together. This after it was rumoured they were going to get two more seasons.

Ahhh, well. I had a feeling this was coming; Friday night has always been a Death Slot.

I hope they do a Very Special Episode where "Echo" does a lesbian scene with "Sierra" before the series ends.

Holy shit that was hands down the best episdoe yet!

Now that the show has a great story line it's going to be over.

It is great that it's two hours again next week and Alpha is returning.

Was very cool to have Summer Glau(Bennett) and show her history with Echo/Caroline and also what made this episode better was having Alexis Denisof(The Senator) in most scenes. It was great having two Buffy/Angel cast members with Denisof and Dushka sharing all of those scenes together.

That was big shocker when you found who was the doll and who wasn't.

Another great two part episode this week with many new twists and turns.

The new development with Echo being able to change to whatever imprints suits her is awesome and now that you see that Ballard and Boyd are involved in trying to bring down the house adds more to it as well. Of course who knows what will happen with Ballard now. Alpha being back brought things up another notch again.

Next week is another two hours again. It appears that Fox is trying to get rid of the show as quickly as possible by airing two epsiodes back to back three weeks in a row. I guess that the series finale will air sometime in early to mid January. It's a shame since now the show has finally found some excellent story lines and appears to be heading in the right direction.

So has no one else been watching these great last four episodes over the last couple of weeks?

Although I was ready to give up on this show I'm glad I didn't as it really improved after the first few EPs.....So now Ballard is braindead..??...never saw that coming....

They don't have much time left to bring him back to life.

And no I didn't see it coming either.

Yea, I just let it go too. Hopefully there'll be a DVD (or at least a marathon on the SyFy Channel) somewhere down the road where I can get caught up on it all in one shot.

Holy crap another awesome two hour episode last Friday.

This was one long mindfuck where Echo, Victor and Sierra are put in the Attic and you find out what goes on there and how the Dollhouse works as they all go through different never ending nightmares. The ending when you find out who's side DeWitt is on was mindblowing.

The next episode is January 8th and that is the first of the three final episodes.

Dr. Saunders/Whisky(Angel's Amy Acker) returns in the next episode.

The great line in last weeks episode came from the guy who started the Dollhouse who was stuck in the nightbares in the Attic with them and asked what year it was in which Echo answered, "2010, I think.............I'm not sure how long we've been off the air". It's like they knew they were being cancelled or maybe when they shot this episode they were just guessing they were getting the boot from Fox or even shot two different scenes with different lines.

Also was very cool when they tell Victor he can leave early in the epsidoe they tell him they have a room for him at the "Hyperion". Angel fans will know this name as the hotel where they held their home base in Season 2,3 and 4.

I love when these shows tie these types of things in.

I can't wait to see how this thing ends. If only Sci-fi would pick this up for another season.

Got to agree this show is really setting a nice pace...I was glued to the screen last Friday.....the next 3 should be excellent as well and yes it will be a damn shame if it's not renewed....

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!

Wow another crazy episode this past week with to many twists and turns to keep up with. So Boyd and Dr. Saunders/Whisky is with the Rossum Corporation and in the flash back when the original Caroline(pre-Echo) meets the Rossum bosses one of them is BOYD. Holy crap I didn't see that coming at all. So it raises the questions is this the real Boyd or a Rossum duplicate or what? And the scene where Dr. Saunders blows Bennett(Summer Glau) away with a bullet through her head made me go HOLY SHIT!!!! Again so many twists. Who's on who's side here and how will this all end with two episodes to go.

I think the writers of this show are Lost fans considering all the twists and turns in the plot line...... :)

Watched the finale last night and it sucks they couldn't have the oppurtunity to have another 6 episodes to flesh out the angle of it being 2020 instead of just doing a one hour part two to the lost episode to Season One(which they never even aired on tv). They should of at least shown these back to back. Not a bad finale and it ended things it appeared for good but seeing Paul and Topher both go down kind of sucked. Another show that bit the bullet just when things were getting good.

    • Another thing is Joe has always worn his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his love of 70s glam rock. I remember when they did the cover of Action for the Retroactive album, and Joe did an interview where he was talking about how he listened to the original by Sweet over and over before they recorded it as he kept hearing all these different things they did in the song with vocal layering and especially the backing vocals. That whole big gang vocal that has become Lepps trademark sound, defo owes a lot to Joes influences.

    • From Iconoclassic Records FB page: Survivor lead singer Jimi Jamison's previously unreleased 2007 country-rock solo album! Entirely written and produced by fellow former Survivor bandmate Jim Peterik.  After leading Survivor to the top of the charts in the mid-'80s, powerhouse vocalist Jimi Jamison reunited with Jim Peterik to cut... a country-rock album? The concept seems perplexing, yet it makes perfect sense. The singer was born Jimmy Wayne Jamison in smalltown Mississippi. Those who knew him best said that you could hear his Southern roots, no matter what he was singing. Today's country music often blurs the line between true old school country, pop, and straight up rock & roll. The same is true with 'Jimmy Wayne Jamison,' which at times, doesn't stray too far from the Jimi Jamison that we all know and love so dearly.  All track versions are previously unheard. Second release in the Jimi Jamison Archive Series. Coming on August 23, Jamison's birthdate.   Tracklist 1. Live Life 2. Love You All Over The World 3. Runaway Train 4. Strong At The Broken Places 5. I Wanna Touch You There 6. Heart Of A Woman 7. Sound Of Home 8. Alive 9. Till You Love Someone 10. Come Dancing 11. A Kiss To Remember You By #jimijamison #Survivor #jimpeterik #melodicrock #countryrock #southernrock #aor
    • I'm happy the do different stuff. Otherwise what they do would get old. Tesla proved how easy it is to make and album have a def Lep feel. And I loved that album, as a one off. And I loved slang as well. Variety is the spice of life 😁
    • Ohh nice, hoping the new recent singles will be on this one.
    • New album out September 20th through Frontiers.
    • I agree. Ultimately, I think bands become sort of what they "really" want to become and move toward the "mean" so to speak.  Leppard always said that they wanted to be like Queen in that they weren't constrained by having to make certain types of songs.  It was probably that desire to go outside the box that allowed Pyromania and Hysteria to happen in the first place.   And it's probably what's caused them to jump around with different style songs throughout the years.  I think it would've happened that way regardless.   Who knows though.  Maybe Steve would've influenced things a little bit as his Led Zep and Jimmy Page influences might've trickled in more.  And who knows what could've happened if Mutt stuck around for a couple more albums too....he was probably the most important piece in the puzzle.  They were already changing lanes though even with Steve and Mutt in the fold.  I think they've still shown they're capable of doing more classic sounding stuff if they want to with songs like Promises, Paper Sun, Dangerous, Take What You Want, etc being a few examples.    Either way, I'm just happy they've kept it going for nearly 50 years.  It has to be tough staying inspired and coming up with new song ideas for that long so that's kind of why I think the course they took would've naturally happened either way.
    • What are the chances...no sooner than I got these from the band that Eonian annouce that they'll be issuing them  https://www.eonianrecords.com/ Their new single - Out Of Touch https://wantedbandofficial.bandcamp.com/track/out-of-touch
