  1. Well for the record not all Walmart stores are the same. Depends on who is in charge. If I remember right my wife says you can get wrote up 3 times and then Something like a Decision day. You get the day off to write a essay on why you should keep your job and what you need to do to improve. From what I have heard from my wife it takes alot to actually get fired and she said those that do usely should have been long ago.
  2. Well to be honest I am surprised ebay still allows you to contact the seller at all. I have never seen one read "Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question" I see in the near future almost all contact be cut off. I also see some of you bigger sellers in USA splitting from ebay with this new IRs Tax law going into effect next year. And of course this new July policy allowing ebay to also get Final value fees from the shipping. I am sure more changes are on there way
  3. My bad I didnt notice the link. Anytime I see Retrospect come up I assume its gonna be bad I dont think I ever bought any of those releases and can only assume by the responses they must not make the grade
  4. Here we go again...... Unless the sound quality has gotten worse over the last year all the ones I bought(about 45) sounded excellent. There are many great sounding bands on the site. I wont get into this cdr/silver pressed discussion as we have had it so many times it is boring If you are worried about this ask Sam before purchasing. If you want to listen to good music you wont find anywhere else then they are the right place to go I cant help you on recommendations but most I bought I kept
  5. This topic brings me back to a reply to a post awhile back about amazon. For those that dont know, Amazon is now also doing the following: CD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com. I went to order a Laura Branigan 2 cd the other day and saw this. It made me wonder since this cd has never been reissued if the cd Amazon makes is going to be identical to the first pressing. First Pressings Had Made in West Germany on them. Since this cd has never been reissued it would be easy to think you were getting a original when you really werent. This would make it almost impossible to know what you are getting from sellers once these start to spread out across the internet. Even the sellers might not have a clue. If Amazon can do this why couldnt some of these rarier bands just team up with Amazon and do the same NOTE: Amazon is working with the record companies, ect, so they are getting payed for it. Amazon describes it like this: What are CD-R and DVD-R media? CD-Rs and DVD-Rs (the "R" stands for "recordable") look like the discs you're used to and offer the same audio and image quality. This recordable media is used to manufacture titles on demand, as fully authorized by the content provider. Through manufacturing on demand, CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com group of companies, enables Amazon.com to offer music and video content that might not otherwise be available. Each disc comes fully packaged, with artwork, in a standard jewel case for audio and an Amaray case for video, although for reissued products the artwork may differ from the original. CreateSpace works with many of the leading music labels, television networks, film studios, and other distributors to make these titles available to Amazon.com customers. All products are manufactured from original source materials (e.g., for audio products, uncompressed CD-quality audio). By eliminating inventory, waste, and inefficiencies in the distribution system, on-demand manufacturing provides the added benefit of helping preserve the environment. When shopping, you'll see CD-R or DVD-R on the product detail page for such products. Amazon.com's standard return policy applies to these purchases.
  6. Ive come across a few of those from auctions I have been to. Sad to say but they are basically considered the same as a regular. However if you come across any with the gold stamp that reads Military Sale Only. These do command a premium. Ive had a couple of these. I have seen the Pink Floyd & Beatles sell for upwards of 60+
  7. I saw a local site selling these and they looked pretty cool. If anyone has used these give some feedback. I would be interestedCD Cover Protectors
  8. Unfortunately, I DIDN'T see that till I'd already pulled the trigger and placed my order... Oh well. I'm told they do specials like this often so I'll get it next time. This order's already got one strike on it by the way. I got an e-mail from Hastings a little while ago sayin' that one of the items on my order (Motorhead's 1916) was being "cancelled" from it because it's out of stock. D'OH! It figures, that was the one I really wanted to get, too. Oh well, as long as they can pony up the other four discs on my order, I guess I can't complain too much. I almost ordered Motorhead's 1916 from their site yesterday also! I had it on cassette but never on cd. It's a great release IMO. They had one cd I was looking at (and I can't remember which one it was) but the used price was $11.99 and the new price was $12.49. I was like WTF??? I was looking earlier at some Triumph cds and came across this Allied Forces Triumph Available in: Used - Audio Compact Disc Audio Compact Disc Usually Ships Within 48 Hours. Used $18.91 New $12.99 So there looks to be a few glitches in the system. Still the other prices on the Triumph cds were really good
  9. I thought that name sounded familar. I picked up a sealed 2 cd awhile back called The last Wave of Summer. Since I wasnt sure what I had and didnt see it in the HH database I never listened to it. Ive had many offers on it(from Australia) but I dont ship out of the USA anymore. Is there anyone mainstream that they can be compared to?
  10. I find it hard to believe that guitar hero would have agreed to that but if they did then he didnt do anything any other musican, movie star, or about any sue happy individual wouldn't have done also As for the riff between the 2 I really could care less. I always figured there is more to the story than has been told.
  11. The Devil's Rejects has to rate as one of the most violent movies produced
  12. I actually live just outside of Sedalia where this happened. I am about 6 miles away. I was actually born there and was my stomping ground. It got real quiet after that started hitting the news. Population 28,000 I have not heard a thing since it was on national news. The last I heard the coach had asked for 3 things. All the money he paid to be in league, Letters sent to all coachs stating they did not quit, forfiet, ect and given the championship title. The fact is the coach was a very good teacher and not some Joe didnt have a clue.
  13. I made another good buy/find a few weeks ago. I bought a small unpaid storage unit and there was a box of 150 cds, 500+ cassettes, 50 LPS. All 80s rock & newer releases from the same genre. I few names were Doro, Glen Huges, Peter Criss, House of lords, Riot, Wasp, ect. Alot of Christin Rock Like Bride, ect. Probably the best find so far when it comes to music. For 50.00 this was a super buy for me. The only other thing in there was 2 big boxes of National Hot rod die cast cars & a couple pieces of stereo equipment.
  14. If I remember right isnt Yoshi's cookie something like Tetris? Stuff falling down that you have to stack. That blinking is the main reason these are a pain in the ass. If you want to spend the money you can buy replacement pin connectors and it will work like new. Its been awhile since I looked but I think they were running like 8.95 at one time
  15. My advise is not to buy the old nintendos. Buy one of the newer top loading nintendos. The old ones are a pain in the ass. Constantly trying to get the game to go in properly and work. The top loaders work just like the super nintendos. Cartridges go in the top and hardly to never have a problem.
  16. Hit a garage sale today and picked up some cds including a couple worth noting. Urban Chipmunks - Chipmunks singing country songs - Check out ebay and amazon on that one. 90.00 being the lowest selling price. Who would have figured Heart - 2 cds on 1 disc. Bad Animals/Bebe Le....... This is either a bootleg or a very professional made personal cd. This one would even make the experts do a double take. Ive never seen so much work go into a bootleg/self made cd. Includes fold out booklet with all lyrics and pictures. Front cover shows both cds in smaller version. The cd face label is perfect with the heart overlaping into the clear inner ring. Even the back insert has a inside picture. Funny though there was only the following P & C 1980 1987. No label or upc code. This leads me to think someone out there is very good and making there own cds.
  17. I opened a couple but there was no way to tell if they were new or not. However 1 warning flag came up. One of them has the insert cut but not the case. This leads me to believe that item had the case changed out. I dont know if you all remember back to the day of cassette tapes but the packaging was done a certain way. They would fold the ends and then glue. I found one of those in this lot and the drill hole is through the plastic and case. Legit markings Many of these are vaccuum sealed with a seam running around 3 edges. That looks to be repackaging. Glad I noticed this or I would have probably been in a world of shit listing on ebay as new.
  18. To be honest i'm not sure were we picked them up. Theres about 200 of them sealed. All different bands. I dont think they are all cut or drilled. Ill just have to open up a couple and see if it looks used. I picked them for a couple resons. There was a band I had never seen before. I think it was called Intice. The other reason was I can get 10.00 a pop on sealed cassettes on ebay. Unless there rare I can barely get 7 or 8 bucks a cd.
  19. I noticed the other day a bunch of sealed cassettes I picked up had the normal saw cut/drill hole in bar codes. The strange thing about these is that they are under the platic wrap and not cut into the wrap itself. Anyone have any idea why that is?
  20. The international part probably would not work but your own swap site in Australia would. The site is set basically up on a honor system. If you pay for tracking when mailing you get your credit instantly. If you choose not to track it then your at the mercy of the receiver to mark it upon delivery as received and defective free. That is the only way to get your credit. There is no getting your credit back if someone sends you a defective cd. The site does not take sides but does have a alert system if a sender gets to many marks on there account for defective cds. I had one last night. She claims the cd skipped on first track. Didnt even give me a chance to reply or even attempt to fix the problem. Just marked as defective. I always test the first track on a cd. Sometimes the music is so horrible I dont get any further than the 1st track. It just freakin amazes me that a common cd such as Twisted Sister - Stay Hunger has such a back up of people wanting it. If it wasnt already obvious to all us already. The music we collect in this era is the most sought of over any decade in history.
  21. Someone sent me a link to this a week ago and it looks pretty cool to mess around with. I think Ive sent out about 50+ cds now. I didnt see any other posts on this when I searched the forums Basically you list all the cds you want to trade. Complete or disc only. Someone requests a cd, you send it out(The site has its own print label like paypal) You receive a credit or multiple credits if its a 2cd set ect. Then you can search the site for what you want or if its not available you can add to your wish list and when its your turn its allocated to you. Bad news Its USA only. I picked up a cd called Accept & Quiet Riot - Take Two - 079895211327. Its one I hadnt seen and didnt have. Its a good site if your looking for common cds that are extended versions or varaitions. Me I used it to get rid of alot of cds that I would have just thrown away. Things like religious, classical stuff. Its just a fun site to play around with. Its not free. They charge you .50 to transfer funds from Paypal and .43s to request or to print a shipping label. They also have sister companies DVDswap & bookswap. Same concept and credits can be transfered from one to the other. Again there is a catch. If you transfer from lets say cd to dvd you loose one credit for ever 3 you transfer. Finally they have forums where you can swap out cds not listed in there system and old formats like cassette, 8-tracks ect. swap cd
  22. There is nothing that pisses me off more than this. You can include Dish Network, Netgear, Belkin and just about and big company that out sources customer service. Damn Belkin was so fucked up I finally went with a American DSL/Modem box. It cost me 150.00 dollars over belkins 50.00. Worth every Damn penny. For your information. If you ever have a problem with Dish Network go Directly to Tech support. They all speak English
  23. Dont know if that works looks damn messy and paper towels aint cheap. If you watch after that is over it shows you how to power a tv with a AAA battery
  24. Having tested 100s of games systems over the last 3 years I can tell you what I have found. 1. PS1 - The biggest piece of shit ever released 2. PS2 - Although not as bad as one it breaks constantly 3. PS3 - Much Much better system - I have one and have never had a problem Yet? 4. Sega Dreamcast - I love this system have never has a bad one yet out of about 20. 5. Atari - Hit and miss on this. If taken care of will work like a charm even after all these Years 6. NES - Almost always has problems with the tray not closing properly after awhile - Still ranks higer than PS1 & Ps2 7. Super nintendo - Very very seldom ever test a bad one 8. N64 - In my oponion One of the best cartrige style systems ever made. Have tested over 100 - Not 1 bad system 9. Gamecube - Another system I have never seen a Bad one 10. Nintendo Wii - I have one and it works like a charm... I havent heard much about these having to many problems 11. Xbox 360 - I have one - These also have many issues 12. Sega Saturn - I dont know much about these. Ive had a couple and had no problems. There is no doubt Nintendo has always made the best quality longest lasting systems.
  25. I actually Have one of these sitting right next to me. The Magnet in gun has demagnetized and I cant figure out how to remagnetize it yet. Cool game but wear out after awhile from the gun tip hitting against the plastic cover
