  1. Hey guys... thanks for the kind words. With Canada Post raising their rates and fewer places to find CDs, it's getting tougher all the time. But as Dave said, it wouldn't be possible without reliable buyers and collectors who want the rarest indies and original pressings. Also shout-outs go to other great Canadian hard rock sellers: Brad of Beakermusic, Taki of Mellowdickmusic, Ryan of Relayrecords, PJ @ earotic/KissMyDisc, Greg (Gal99 on eBay) and Russell (Reedyk on eBay). Each one of these sellers has been bookmarked in my "favorite sellers" list. Along with zacharyamelie of course!
  2. Maybe he got his red skin from being BURNED by an eBay buyer who didn't pay for his wins! Dave... I know you've been a class act to me in the past, as well as a loyal customer... BUT there have been a few times this year when you have won CDs from me on eBay and just flat-out not paid, without even the courtesy of an e-mail. This surprises me, because I know you're a decent guy at heart. So why did you force me to post a non-paying bidder strike against you for a lousy $5 CD by Suburban Sprawl? This really confuses me, because I am easy to get along with and you know you can simply email me if you have any issues with paying for what you won. All I ask is keep those lines of communication open and I will cut you some slack (re: giving you some extra time to pay if you're in over your head). Cool?
  3. The question sounds a little Kaufmann-esque. Please reply when?
  4. Avalon is basically album filler tracks covered by great singers set to below average production. This seems to be, at the outset anyway, Prism's Beat Street dusted off and re-packaged. This was an overall disappointment to me, being a big fan of Hugo, Eddie Money and Joseph Williams-era Toto. "Oh Samantha" is probably the best song here. The Hugo tracks sound more like Triumph B-sides than the Journey-style AOR of his first two solo albums. The production is thin like his 3rd Fire in the Night release. The Eddie Money contributions sound like album tracks, not singles. A song I hoped would rescue the CD was Danny Vaughn's Avalon. It is nowhere as good as the other Avalon he recorded with Gary Hughes and just didn't deliver the home run I was expecting. The Philip Bardowell songs aren't bad, and the Eric Martin material is okay, but nothing really stands out. After hearing Sunstorm, the Joe Lynn Turner cover of "Is He Better Than Me" can be rephrased as "Is Sunstorm better than this"? To that, the answer would be Yes. With so many better releases to spend your money on this fall, I would definitely take a pass on this one. Get Slamer, Sunstorm or the new Final Frontier instead.
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 I'm thinking there are lots of CDRs in this batch. Any thoughts?
  6. I got four more emails from Sean this afternoon: TONY, DOES HOUSE OF LORDS-WORLD UPSIDE DOWN THE BEST MELODIC/AOR ALBUM EVER?. IS IT BETTER THAN WHITESNAKE 1987 AND BON JOVI-SLIPPERY WHEN WET?. PLEASE REPLY NOW. SEAN KAUFMAN I said it was the best AOR album ever and he should buy 4000 copies of it. Expect "World Upside Down" to debut on next week's Billboard Top 200 at #153 based on strong regional sales from the state of Florida.
  7. Yes, everwood2006 is Thomas. He won the Lorraine CD I had on eBay and no response as of yet. I'm going to file a NPB report tomorrow.
  8. Thomas' new eBay ID is: everwood2006 No feedback, no replies to my notices.... seems destined to wear the NEHRU, er, NARU jacket.
  9. I filed a non-paying bidder report for the 40 CD lot they won (Aug 6) so I might have pulled the pin out of the grenade. After doing that, BAM! Wearing the NARU jacket. Of course, I did that to light a fire under his ass, not burn it up completely. But eBay works in mysterious ways.
  10. A month?? I don't know about that... maybe a solid two or three weeks at the worst of times. I don't know why it takes so long. I know PJ and I were complaining about Canada Post vs. USPS. We're paying over twice as much for half the service. And we're forever under the threat of a postal increase that would send prices even higher. I know they've cancelled the rate change for CDs twice now... once last year, once this year. It's bloody irritating. If they jack their rates up from $2.95 to over $4 (like they've been conspiring to do), I won't hesitate to drive all my CDs across the Michigan border (an hour away) where I'll 1. save money 2. ensure a faster delivery to U.S. customers and 3. happily keep my hard earned money out of Canada Post's already well-lined pockets. In terms of international delivery, it seems as though it takes less time for a package to arrive in Japan/Europe/Australia/Germany than it does to the U.S. Can't figure it out! Thanks for your patience to any U.S. buyer/trader reading this. I hope you keep it in mind when waiting for packages from Canada and find yourself growing old in the process.
  11. Thanks for the heads-up Delbert. I didn't technically get 11jean11 booted from eBay... he didn't pay and got himself booted off. I just submitted a NPB report and eBay did the rest. If I knew it was get him NARU-Ed, I would have probably used a lighter stick. Since then, Jean and I have had some solid transactions, all with the understanding that we don't use Paypal and opt instead for Western Union payments. This has seemed to work well. In future, I would recommend using Western Union as the safest possible option. Apparently, selling with Paypal is like fuckin without a rubber: high risk cuz you got no protection!!
  12. Bob- whether you say his name backwards or forwards, it still spells prick. I remember when I was working for PJ at Kiss My Disc, Bob would call- literally- every day. "Can you burn this? Can you burn me that?". He'd always have this bullsh*t story about someone else who could burn him a CD for less, but in retrospect, I think it was just a bluff. Everytime PJ or I would see his name on the portable phone, we'd just toss the thing back and forth like a hot potato (do you want to answer it? no, you answer it!! I don't wanna talk to Bob- YOU answer it!!). He was our daily pain in the ass. Then he'd get CDRs and they would NEVER be right... Plus, Bob hated him some woman!! That's right, this guy is the biggest misogynist I've ever met in my life. No word of a lie, he would spend half an hour just ranting above how women were no damn good, we were better off without them, bla bla bla. He would never want any female-fronted rock burned for him either. Ironically, the guy lives with his sister in fumbuck Wisconsin and he was always yellin' over to her in the background while on the phone with us. Look up "pain in the ass" in the dictionary and you'll see a little picture of Bob Leisch there. A man with more CDs than brains and definitely a character who could stand to get laid more. Not from his sister either, despite the assumed tolerance in Wisconsin for such things.
  13. Just got an email from Bob thru his eBay ID which is carstrucksbikes (I blocked him from sending me regular emails a while back) "hello this is bob from wisconsin how are you i am fine i see you are selling up here tell pj i said hi i am still collecting cds i am at 42000 its a lot i may even have more than you no i am not braging ok how is business??????? email me back" But the important thing to remember is... he's not braging.
  14. I bet the b-3 simulator would do an excellent job on "Walks Like a Lady", if that song ever found its way onto a Highwire set list. What a fun track to play live that would be. I miss some of those old bluesy Journey moments. Rolie was more inclined that way than Cain. Out of curiosity, between the two keyboardists, which one do you prefer, Sam? PS, cool rig. I once had an Ensoniq too. They had a pretty good sampler back in the day.
  15. What do you use as a piano sound for the ballads? I see you've got a Triton LE (not a bad board), but I never thought much of the piano sounds on it. Do you use another board live or just the Korg? I'd be interested in hearing what your stage set up is, from a keyboardist perspective.
  16. I see a slight Gregg Rolie resemblance in the second picture. Does Sam sing any of the co-lead vocals in the Journey tribute?
  17. Sammy... you can stop being the Barry Bonds of the CD world anytime now.
  18. Aaron, first off- you don't know me. Don't assume you ever will. You can play the Jesus card all you want to make yourself look self-righteous, but you're about the furthest thing from a Christian when you make unwarranted personal attacks on my character. It's really the cheapest and last resort for anyone who can't find a way to professionally/maturely dispute the claims against them. Hitting below the belt is what your brother did last year when he spouted some nonsense about my worthiness as a new father. I see those sort of low blows run in the McAslin family, right alongside immaturity, deception and outright self-delusion. If you want "arrogant" and "narcissistic", look no further than your brother's recent post: "I warned you not to fuck with me and now you're going to see what real power is". That's powermad, Lex Luthor/Darth Sidious shit. I am still waiting for scorching laser beams to come out of his fingertips.
  19. Is that a threat, little man? Are your glasses fogging up and is that steam coming out of your ears? I knew the hot air had to come out eventually. Speaking of coming out, I see the "real Sam " is doing just that. Looks like Sam's big mouth can't hide behind his 80sMetalCollector alias for long. If anyone out there was fooled into thinking that 80sMetalCollector and Sam were separate people, I think the above reaction to my post about him puts that doubt to rest.
  20. When you grow up, Aaron? Well, assuming the day ever comes, you might want to pass along the roadmap to maturity to your brother who is also stuck in permanent grade five. I hope you're ready to take on your brother's auctions when his eBay ID gets shitcanned for selling BOOTLEGS like the Lionheart "Hot Tonight", P-A-N-T-E-R-A CDs (if he spelt Pantera properly in the auction, VERO would be on him so fast, his geeky little head would spin), Brian McDonald Group CD etc. A few of SAMMY'S BOOTS: http://cgi.ebay.com/LIONHEART-CD-Hot-Tonig...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/P-A-N-T-E-R-A-CD-Power...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/P-A-N-T-E-R-A-2on1-cd-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/WITNESS-s-t-CD-1988-RA...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/BRIAN-MCDONALD-GROUP-C...1QQcmdZViewItem Judging from the lukewarm reception most of these CDs are getting on eBay (bids between $2.25-$3.25), it's apparent most collectors/buyers aren't falling for Sam's second-rate nonsense. Proof that you can't fool people for long!! VERO will finish what ignorance began.
  21. Insignificant? Silver powerseller status and my accountant would say otherwise. I sold a SUDDEN IMPACT CD this past winter. One of the rarest CDs on planet Earth. Add to that, MAY RUN. AXIOM. The real ALYZE not once, but three times. MICHAEL HUFF's '88 CD-only 1000 made. Scored one for a lucky collector. CRASH PONY. THE TAKE. SLICK KITTY. I could go on. All in the last calendar year, all 100% original. I have sold more bonafide rarities in the last 6 months than Sam has since he started. And about the whole "vegas is not Restroomspect" thing... I guess that means it's ok for him to sell boots as vegascds then? What a double standard and another shining example of how Sammy twists the truth to fit his ILLEGAL agenda. Vero notified btw. Now Sam can shake in his boots as well as he can sell them.
  22. How is Brian McDonald getting paid for an Italian boot of his '87 CD? Desperate business indeed.
