  1. I'm a big fan of putting soundbytes on my auctions. If there aren't MP3s embedded in my auctions, they're always an email request away... I give every buyer the opportunity to hear first, bid/buy later. I would love to put Mp3 samples on all my auctions, but it's a pretty labor-intensive procedure. Rip track to Mp3, load the Mp3 to my website, then link the Mp3 to the auction. My auction listings take long enough without Mp3s!! As for buying CDs, I love to test drive the disc first. If the band is one of my "core" artists, I will usually buy with blind faith and await the surprise when the CD comes in the mail. Sometimes the surprise is pleasant (Wetton/Downes for example), other times not so (Zion). I try to keep to the "old school" music buying experience whenever possible. By buying Mp3s off iTunes, you just don't get the feeling of running your fingers along the shrink wrap, tearing away the cellophane, opening up the jewel case and exploring the booklet as you rock out to fresh melodies!!
  2. Yes, Michael Butt is one of the most solid guys I have met in the scene. Knows his stuff and super friendly as well. Hope you get back on eBay soon!
  3. Actually, some of the Oaks stuff borders on AOR. "True Heart" is a good example. "Elvira"... maybe not such a great example. Or Ba-ba-ba-ba-Bobbie Sue.... i wanna m-m-m-m-marry you".
  4. My guilty pleasure? The Oak Ridge Boys. They're as uncool as it gets, but something about Richard Sterban's DEEP voice keeps me coming back for more.
  5. I just hate seeing anyone (buyers or sellers) getting ripped off on eBay.
  6. His reply: eBay listing sale on that day. 20 cents per listing. They will be updated shortly. Thanks Somehow I feel he is missing the point. Nobody's going to pay a thousand bucks for a Spin Doctors CD without artwork and case. Even the Bulletboys "Zaza" he is selling isn't worth that much!
  7. This guy continues to baffle. No changes to his prices. I'm going to email him and tell him about what he can expect for eBay fees if he doesn't connect the dots.
  8. Go back to the end of October and you'll see he ran a similar auction- hundreds of bid-less titles at $999 each with multiple listings of each CD. Don't you think he would catch on/change his password? The auction in October ran for a full 5 days and didn't end pre-maturely as you might guess they would if the auctions were truly sabotaged. How bazaar... ahem, bizarre.
  9. This guy's slow on the uptake. His listings are still at $999.99 and nobody's bidding. I wonder if he'll throw in a free jewel case with a $999.99 bid. Or would that be an extra $199? As for Turbo Lister 2, I'm quite happy with it. It's way better than Blackthorne (in my side) that charges you $25 a month for nothing but headaches. The only disadvantage to Turbo Lister 2 is you can't make listing modifications in the program that are reflected simultaneously on your eBay listings. But hey- it's free, right?
  10. He just sent me an email: "Listing will be updated shortly. Thanks." Stay tuned!
  11. Maybe DUMBASS was a bit harsh, but you'd think a 5-year ebay veteran with almost 2,000 positives would know better and check the listings. (I could understand if he was a rookie.) And by listing the same CD seven times (in the case of G3 "Live in Tokyo" and others), you're not doing your profit margin any favors. A better method would be to state "7 available" in a single auction format. Dan's right- it makes no sense. And what's more, this isn't the first time he's tried to list CDs at an affordable $999.99. He ran hundreds of titles (discs only, no cases or art) on Oct 25 and none of them sold when the auctions ended on Oct 30. (Surprise, surprise.) Hmmm... maybe this guy is a DUMBASS.
  12. I e-mailed the seller and made him aware of the prices. I can't see any of his CDs selling for $999.99. Heck, even at 99 cents each, they're a hard sell without cases and artwork. One thing for sure, he's sure to get one hell of a wake-up call come invoice time. 244 CDs at $4.80 each (for the $500+ listing category) equals $1,171.20 in listing fees. And not one of those CDs will sell to offset that. It adds up to a real kick in the ass. koogles
  13. http://music.search.ebay.com/_CDs_W0QQcatr...egendsQ2abazaar And I thought Relay's prices were out there!! CDs without case or inserts, RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, multiple listings of each title= what a DUMBASS.
  14. The Simpsons Season Eight DVD (finally) Wetton/Downes Demetri Martin- These Are Jokes (hilarious deadpan humor in the style of Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg) Brian Jack- Promise of Love
  15. Hardrockkiller is no longer a registered user.... no surprise there!
  16. I think this might be Thomas again. Horrible eBayer, no replies to emails, already 2 negatives since hitting eBay back in October. I will be giving this person their 3rd negative if I don't get payment for the HYPER FORMANCE CD they won.
  17. Brigitte's T-shirt in this picture says all that needs to be said *click to enlarge
  18. You're making it really tempting for me to drop a negative, but I'll hold out until 90 days. Another week and the Paypal chargeback verdict comes through and that will be the best revenge. He's got a pretty eye-for-an-eye feedback history, so if I neg him, I'll be positively getting a negative in return. Brian leads me to think he may pull through. I've been to Disk Heaven in Tokyo (with PJ)... it's quite a place. Imagine every CD with an OBI and having to pull each one out to see the artist/title/etc. No just reading the spine!! Makes a 30 minute visit to the record store into a 2 hour ordeal!! But who said being a kid in a candy store was easy???
  19. I don't know if anyone else has had a problem with this guy, but I've been waiting over MONTH for the new Final Frontier CD, "Freelight". I bought it with Paypal on Sept 21 and it's still not here. I've filed a Paypal complaint as I've heard nothing from this guy since about mid-October. The seller is TOKYOROCKADOM His feedback is pretty rough, but most of it comes from one bidder, so I thought I'd have a better experience. Proven wrong!!
  20. Yeah, she's very close to getting the back of my hand. By that I mean from my auctions. That is funny Dave...
  21. Look at the lovely eMail I got today from her: "Hi, I am not happy with the Mail from Ebay!!! I think, you will loose a lot of money in the next 10 years, because, I don’t will bit not so much on your CDs! Send the CDs with Jewel Cases!!! You have 3980 Points, but you don’t use Plastic to Cover the CDs! Not Professional !!! Have a great life! Take care Brigitte I thought, you where smart!!!" So something about her having bit my CDs?? WTF? I'll give her something to put her mouth on.
  22. The real question is: how can you play foozeball with miniature soccer balls covering your eyes? (See second photo in Delbert's post) I've heard of keeping one's eye on the ball, but that's just ridiculous. Regarding the first photo, looks like a member of the Village People has learned the fine art of foozeball. The last picture shows Brigitte. Is it to suggest she is a "trophy wife"? Maybe an "entropy wife" if Dave's experiences ring true.
