  1. Maybe they should only be allowed to comment in Spanish on all the awesome Spanish language hard rocks bands. I have literally... zero... in my collection.
  2. I don't think we should curtail topics speaking as a newbie. But, I might avoid certain topics anyway. When it comes down to it, everyone here has more in common, like hating the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame and thinking hip-hop is a waste of space.
  3. I have the two Sleez Beez albums and love them. You can still find the Mr Big albums regularly cause they sold so many of those first two. It took me a while to get the first two Sweet FA albums but I did eventually. I think Rock Candy remastered the first Giant album recently so maybe they will do Tine to Burn as well soon? I was stoked they remastered the Silent Rage second disc last month. That was missing from my collection until then!
  4. Paying $$$ for beat up second hand copies of albums on eBay bugs me sometimes. I hate paying more than what a new cd would cost. That's why I really want some albums reissued/remastered etc. as I ain't gonna fork out stupid money for them. My top 5 wanting reissue are: Princess Pang 1989 Marcello - Destiny 1989 Paul Laine - Stick it in Your Ear 1990 Glory - Danger in this Game 1989 Red Dawn - Never Say Surrender 1993
  5. The main site Rulez. It's one of the best resources on the Web. And I'm fucken determined to keep posting on it. Yes, it makes me poor cause I keep trying to increase my collection. Man I'm pissed I can't find a reasonably priced copy of Princess Pang, among others.
  6. Pinkerton is great, but... I encourage people here to give Van Weezer a listen. I'm telling you, you may be surprised. (There is some tasty old school riffing... trust me).
  7. I was wondering the same thing, but from the other side. The main site is my preference but there is no one on there really, except me and about 6 others. I was reluctant to join this forum cause I thought it would be a lot of really opinionated expressions and also a lot of drama and the like. Which it kinda is... Again, here it seems there are about half a dozen dominant posters, but apart from Leykis, no one from here seems to post at the main site. Which is a real pity because a lot of new releases have zero comments on them. I found HH from a google search on an obscure band. Thankfully it was an older release and I could read some reviews from fellow genre lovers to help me make up my mind to buy or not. But, nowadays, for any release in the last 5 years, you would be lucky to find any comments at all. It's a shame because when you think about it - if you are writing reviews here on the forum about new releases, they are lost. They will disappear in some old thread. Even if you just copy and paste your review from here to the main site, it would help save the information for future seekers. Not that there are that many music discussions here, but on the off chance there ever is again...
  8. I'm currently listening to some modern prog, a band called Wobbler and their album "Dwellers of the Deep".
  9. Bah, if this is gonna get all dramatic with people making complaints and having to have safe spaces, then maybe it's not worth me getting invested in it...

    Religion

Maybe someone should start a "Who'd win the Civil War between Republicans and Democrats" topic! That's the only one probably more polarising lol.
  11. Top 5 so far: Chez Kane Temple Balls The L.A. Maybe Heart Healer Van Weezer! Biggest Disappointment so far: Creye
  12. More Weezer news cause I know Geoff will be all over this https://metalinjection.net/news/weezer-offered-their-song-hash-pipe-to-ozzy-osbourne-in-2000
  13. I actually went to the cinema with the wife and kids last Thursday just before new lockdown. First time in over a year! Saw The Quiet Place part 2. It was a great film. Loved it.
  14. I think Under the Bridge is probably $100 million in that value alone. As in, what would a company have paid them if RHCP said "every song except Under the Bridge"?

    Religion

These days the true fanatics are often self-described atheists who spend much of their time ruminating over their hatred of Christians (they say "religion", but always mean Christians). They are so hate-filled towards followers of Christ. But am I surprised? Nope. Jesus said the world would hate us because of Him, whom they hated for no reason. And so they do, and will continue to do so. Nobody will even mention their faith, but they will be attacked for it unprovoked, in all spheres, even on a music appreciation site for some reason.
  16. Nearly every major band that continued after a key member left was more successful than whatever solo venture or new venture that the ex-member started. Off the top of my head I can't think of a single example where it didn't prove that the public care more about the brand name that is the band over a leaving key member.
  17. Transgender at the Olympics is nothing new. They used to all go there and compete as "East Germany".
  18. I've got it and love it. Wait 'til you hear the song with a little Randy Rhoads on it 😉
  19. Someone sneezes and Victoria goes into lockdown just like bubble boy.
  20. As a mega Queensryche fan I am getting pretty tired of all the drama farming going on. It's like Pink Floyd in the 80s. When it comes down to it, most fans know the band by name and tge individual members are less important. Roger Waters found that out the hard way, as did Geoff Tate and so will Scott Rockenfield.
  21. Sounds like you are more into modern music, but the ultimate Space Rock band is Hawkwind. Their most famous song is Silver Machine. So check them out.
  22. Anyone else heard this new release yet? What do you people think of this album with loving swathes of 80s style metal?
  23. are we that desperate these days for anything that has a guitar? no, I'm not desperate enough to look forward to a new Offspring album... even with Bob Rock producing.
  24. Hip hop may be in the ascendency right now but I think it will lose its appeal in the future as more people will want some substance to their music. Hip hop is just kids raised by single mothers shouting "I'm the best! I'm the best! My mum tells me I'm the best" over a synthetic drum beat and stolen melody. It is a disposable genre without any timeless songs. And kids have always had bad taste in music! I used to listen to grunge as a teen for instance...
