  1. These guys sound promising. They were founded by two members from the band Gamma Ray.
  2. Happy Birthday Geoff, I hope it was a good one
  3. Not on the same level of their early stuff with Martin, but not bad
  4. I'll say Candy Harlots, despite them being from Australia, I am thinking you are young enough that they may have broken up before you'd have had the chance to catch them performing live
  5. Hmm, good to hear his voice again, hard to tell much from a short snippet like that, but it has me thinking this is going to be more on the pop rock side, not saying that is a bad thing, but I was hoping the album might be more in the melodic hard rock vein of the first two H.E.A.T. records, I'll still keep my hopes up though
  6. I was unaware they recorded a follow up, buried treasures indeed, I enjoyed Blind Faith and the samples for this one sound good
  7. Interesting question, a good video will definitely enhance my thoughts on the song. Your example of Thriller by Michael Jackson did make me realize that some videos over the years made such an impression on me that I ended up giving the song or artist more of a chance than I may otherwise have before seeing the video. A more recent example of that for me was when I watched the video for Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim, with Christopher Walken in it. I would probably never have given that song a second listen had I simply heard it on the radio but since I liked the video and watched it a couple of times the song ended up growing on me a little.
  8. I feel the same way about the last few Gotthard, so I understand where you are coming from. And I will admit to being a bit hasty with my post and including Ultraphobic to make my point. There were still enough hints of the old Warrant on that and some good tunes. I still stand by the Belly to Belly comparison though. To me, even lyrically that album is as far away from the old Warrant as you could get, but I think that was something Jani intended at the time. I would have preferred that the band had changed their name after Jani passed. My point was that people should at least give Rockaholic and their new one a shot despite it being nothing like the original Warrant sound. If they like it, great, and if they hate it, that's cool too.
  9. Jorn has such a great voice. Worldchanger and Out to Every Nation were good records, but he seems to have plateaued a bit since then. I'm still waiting for him to put out a solo album that really blows me away.
  10. I downloaded this today having enjoyed their debut and seeing all the positive comments. The production is great like everyone was saying. Haunters is worth getting but they lost some of the raw intensity that I liked about their first album.
  11. Thanks for posting. I'm not familiar with the band, but they sound pretty good to me. Nice melodies.
  12. Wow, without the video images, I'd swear it was some long lost Zeppelin songs. Thanks for posting. Good stuff, especially Highway Tune.
  13. Thanks for posting, I never heard of the band before. Kind of reminds me of a more melodic Black Label Society, I enjoyed listening to it.
  14. I like my fair share of AC/DC influenced bands. This isn't bad, but nothing memorable. It lacks the fire that bands like Dirty Looks or even Airbourne have. I liked Jason w/ Dangerous Toys, but his voice sounds a little tired on this.
  15. I like most of the things Michael Voss is involved with, but this song doesn't do anything for me. And the horrible video doesn't help their cause.
  16. They may not sound the same as they did during their heyday and it is hard to think of Warrant without Jani Lane. But I would rather listen to Rockaholic any day over Belly to Belly or even Ultraphobic. Neither of which sounded like the old Warrant, even with Jani. Based on these preview tracks, if you enjoyed Rockaholic or are a fan of Robert Mason then I think it will be worth a purchase.
  17. Definitely intriguing news for fans of the band to possibly see them perform live again. I never really got into them, but I recall liking their song The Distance.
  18. Not bad, singer sounds a little bit like Doro
  19. Ousey still sounds great and with Moody and Murray involved it's no surprise the songs have got a soulful, bluesy 70's rock feel to them, good stuff
  20. Some nice tunes, might be worth a purchase
  21. I've never heard of them before, pretty good song
  22. You are correct to question the absence of Le Roux - So Fired Up from my list of favorites of '83. That album was really good, especially Fergie's vocals, and could easily swap places with any of the titles I ranked between #'s 45 - 50. Lifeline, Carrie's Gone, Turning Point and the title track can each be found in many of my playlists.
