  1. I feel the same way, this isn't anything that will blow people away, but there are some pretty good tracks and the album showcases a genuine mid to late 80's sound.
  2. yes, I've seen it available on vinyl on Amazon
  3. update on reissue of Cold Sweat 'Break Out', scheduled release date Oct 26 (a bit later outside of NA) by 20th Century Music (same label that reissued Lion 'Dangerous Attraction'), unfortunately it does not appear to include any bonus material https://vanitymusicgroup.bigcartel.com/product/cold-sweat-break-out
  4. It is bad enough trying to make sure disc images are legit before buying/bidding, now we have to even be careful that the OBI strips are real? When I first started rebuilding and adding harder to find cds to my collection some years back I wasn't aware how prevalent bootleg discs and shill bidding was. It's crazy how far scammers will go and a real shame that collectors have to become overly suspicious of everyone because of some bad sellers.
  5. Official audio (full version) of Johnny's first solo single "Drive"
  6. That's a pretty good comparison
  7. I believe so, I don't recognize the song titles on disc 2. And that was the format that was used on the prior Decade release, disc 1 was sort of a best of and disc 2 mostly unreleased with a few alternate versions.
  8. It's possible that Erik is involved with the songwriting this time, but not sure. I recall that Erik and Anders produced and mixed Connected, so they helped shape the sound, but I don't believe they received any actual co-writing credits on that prior album
  9. Thanks for sharing the links to the samples, I agree all 3 tracks sound good
  10. Not a fan of the artwork, but that's alright, it's the music that matters after all. Not sure how much songwriting input they had, but it looks like both the original bass player and guitarist are no longer with the band.
  11. Decent song, but I was expecting a bit more, especially with Dave Dalone involved. Still looking forward to checking out the album
  12. I enjoyed their debut from back in '88. New song is just OK for me, has more of a 70's funk rock influence. Underlying riff during the solo sounds similar to Sweet Emotion from the 1:47 mark to 2:30. Nice video though and I'm interested in hearing more, especially with all original members returning.
  13. That is pretty funny, I had never seen that Rat on a Phone video before
  14. I'm looking forward to this release as well. I am not familiar with the new vocalist, but he sounds pretty good on this promo track.
  15. No problem, glad you enjoyed it. I might be reading too much into the lyrics but seems like Donnie is singing about Chip.
  16. Still no official release date (sigh), but last weekend Kane Roberts posted on FB "New CD 100% mastered and ready to drop soon"
  17. Heir Apparent is returning with a long awaited third album called The View From Below which is scheduled to be released October 15th, via No Remorse Records. The reunited band features three original members. Promo track "The Door" is available now. https://www.heirapparent.com/ https://www.noremorse.gr/product_info.php?products_id=68064&___p=PRE-ORDER%3A HEIR APPARENT - THE VIEW FROM BELOW CD (NEW) HEIR APPARENT was founded in 1984 by guitarist Terry Gorle. During 1985, the band signed with Black Dragon Records and completed the first album "Graceful Inheritance" which was released in January of 1986. Up to this day, their debut album is considered as one of the best US metal albums of the 80s. After highs and lows in the music industry and line-up changes, finally Heir Apparent was signed by Metal Blade Records and released their second album "One Small Voice" (1989), one of the best progressive metal albums of all times. Although the future looked bright, tensions surrounding commitment and finances within the band caused a rift that split the group. In 2000, Heir Apparent reunited at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, and in the next years more shows followed with different line-ups for festivals like Keep It True, Metal Assault and Up The Hammers. The current line-up consists of original members Terry Gorle (guitar), Derek Peace (bass), Ray Schwartz (drummer) with the addition of Op Sakiya (keyboards) and the great new singer Will Shaw. "The View From Below" was produced by Tom Hall in cooperation with the band. Tom Hall had produced the previous Heir Apparent releases and also worked with Queensrÿche on their "Queensrÿche" EP (1983) and "Empire" (1990), among others. Track list: 1. Man in the Sky 2. The Door 3. Here We Aren't 4. Synthetic Lies 5. Savior 6. Further and Farther 7. The Road to Palestine 8. Insomnia
  18. New album isn't bad, but also isn't something I'll likely spin much. Fans of the band may also enjoy the new single by E Z N w/ Donnie Vie and Johnny Monaco called "Trouble Maker". I think it is a bit closer to the band's earlier sound
  19. Decent album, I like the energy and raw feel the songs have. The guys show some potential but for me they aren't quite there yet
  20. All nice tunes, but none of them are on this album
  21. Opinions will vary as always, but to answer your question, for me, Endangered and the other tracks that make up the first half of GOG are all slightly better than my favorite songs on the new one
  22. Canadian AOR band Tanzen's album "Piece by Peace", originally released in the '80's only on cassette, is to be re-issued on CD in September as part of the Lost Jewels series (via Steelheart Records) https://www.aorheaven.com/index.php/englisch_b/tanzen-piece-by-piece-4-digitally-remastered.html?___from_store=german_b
  23. Thanks for sharing the info, I did not know that. I've read positive comments about Shelter - First Stop before, but have never heard the album and not familiar at all with Steeplechase, but I intend to check them out now
