    Vanexa

From the 2016 release Too Heavy To Fly http://www.vanexa.org/hm/ From the bands FB page: Vanexa was one of the first Italian heavy metal band, their self-titled LP was consecrated by the national press as the first Italian heavy metal album. Born in Savona in 1978, their sound was typically Anglo-Saxon evidence abroad, where they were cited by several magazines as proponents of the new wave of heavy metal band from late '70s early' 80s. They also participated as a headliner at the fir st heavy metal festival held in Certaldo Italian in Florence May 21, 1983. In their career they also participated in various compilations including metal of Metal Mountain, exit the United States, with the song "Hanged Man" and Metal Italy with the song "It's over ". In 2007, a CD reissue of their eponymous debut album with 3 bonus tracks and unreleased second album "Back From The Ruins" with 5 bonus tracks taken from a live concert of 1984 was released in 2010 is out "1979-80" a compilation of early material (totally sung in italian) released on vynil and cd supports. We needed a new fresh band with a new fresh sound. VANEXA spearheaded what was termed 'the new wave of heavy metal'. They were a more than welcome addition of the Italian hard rock / metal scene. yet, this debut offering offers more energy and speed than real accomplishment. In 1983 VANEXA released their self-titled debut album, beginning what would become a legendary career for the band. They were one of many promising bands in the New Wave of Heavy Metal movement at the time. Following the success of Vanexa, the band released their second album Back From The Ruins in 1988. The album featured fan-favorites "Midnight Wolves", "Creation", "Hanged Man". This new album contained many tracks that had been written before the release of the debut album, but were considered a surplus. With songs already shaped on the road well in advance, only two new tracks were written for the album; Hanged Man and Creation. The band adopted a different approach for their 1994 studio album, entitled Against The Sun. This was not a concept album, though it was themed loosely around the idea of social problems. It featured, for the first time in the band's history, synthesized keyboards and guitars to add textures and layers to the sound. Though considered different from the norm of Vanexa sounds, it was a good response to Roberto TIRANTI, especially for the new incredible voice. The VANEXA lyrics contain literature quotes about famous books / movies or social issues fusioned in heavy heavy metal sound. especially for the new incredible voice of Roberto TIRANTI. 2. From the bands FB page: *** DEZPERADOZ*** .....Ennio Morricone meet`s MetalA uniquely crossover between Heavy Rock and Western-Sounds.Invented and started by Alex Kraft (Onkel Tom, Sodom a.o.)Originally formed as a project, back then called "DESPERADOS" with Tom Angelripper (Sodom, Onkel Tom) on vocals, turned out to be a real band long ago. Alex Kraft, singer, guitarist, songwriter and his wild bunch are fillig a gap in the music world, by transfering the rough feeling of the old italo-western movies into today`s world of Rock / Metal. After the first strike "Dawn of Dying" (2000 Drakkar Records) wich earns a lot of positive reviews, Alex Kraft decides to take over the lead vocal part after a a longer break and some lineup changes, 2006, DEZPERADOZ releases the second record "The Legend and the Truth" A concept-album about the life of the western legend Wyatt Earp. produced by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) the album, wich features Tobias Sammet, Michael Weikath, Doro and others for some speaking parts, is published by AFM Records. followed by some support-tours and festival shows. 2008, the third opus "An Eye for an Eye" another album with concept, is released. It tells the story about a man on the death row back in 1898, a faithful and reigious man who killed his friend for revenge and condemned to death by the state. Once more this album is produced By Dennis Ward published by AFM Records. Support shows for acts such as Krokus, Gotthard, Thin Lizzy, Rage, Sodom, Doro, Volbeat, U.D.O, Tesla and many others, shows that DEZPERADOZ is not just an other stereotypic band, and able to impress different types of audiences. Festival shows like Wacken, With Full Force, Earthshaker, Summerbreeze and others are done as well as gigs and touring through europe and russia. 2012, with a new record-deal singed by the old companions Drakkar-Records, the fourth album "Dead Mans Hand" will be released as well as a reissue of the first record "Dawn of Dying" ink. bonustrack. 2017 DEZPERADOZ is back with the album "Call of the Wild", the story about W.H. Bonney Bka. BILLY THE KID DEZPERADOZ is: Alex Kraft - Leadguitar, Vocals Jochen Rautenstrauch - Drums Manu Mandrysch - Bass, Backing Vocals Wolfgang Sing - Guitar, Backing Vocals
  3. https://www.facebook.com/killthekrait/ Very well played heavy metal from Spain. Yes you will hate it cause it is en espanol. I could give to shits what language the music is in as long as it is good and no matter what alpha says KTK is good. KTK to me Mas Letal (More Lethal) sounds like a Spanish Black Tora.
  4. Saw this posted over at another far inferior site. Really like this band though.
  5. So I can't find the other thread that was discussing stuff around the new site but here are a couple things that I miss. 1. On the threads that are uber long, soy what CD did you buy this week, we used to be able to hover over the topic and select to view unread posts and not start at the beginning. Can that come back? Also, can you modify the "read unread posts, to include something that can go back into the ones you read a bit? Maybe more along the lines of what was before with "read latest posts"? And that when you hovered gave you some some options of how far back you could go. Ticky tacky things that I grew fond of. THanks Dan.
  6. I'm sure this is resonating across all the internet but the king of cool Hugh Hefner passed away at 91. Boy that guy had the life and then some. RIP big guy, NO ONE can touch your legacy!
  7. Wowser indeed. Step away for a couple a days and whammo! The dark theme is very HOM like. I will toggle back n forth to see what is may favorite. Second thread and yes it is something to get used to but certainly fun. Thanks for stirring up the kettle Dan. What was the driver for the change?
  8. Yes that was a good ole down home ass whoopin and I have always thought the Ravonettes were over rated. But I digress. The ONLY redeemable thing the franchise has done was cutting Ray Rice loose the minute they heard about his domestic abuse. On topic and as mentioned some wild games in week three. Chicago schools Pitt. Seattle continues to spiral. And Green Bay makes Cinci 0 and 3. Would have LOVED to seen the Pat's lose but what a game. Oh and let us not forget the ass whoopin' the 'Skins handed the Raiders. And Dan LOVE he Eagle Giants pic. Glad to see Lil Manning getting beat up on.
  9. Yep, me too. They have some good stuff (love the 'This is war' album) but the last album wasn't great and if this is anything to go by, I have grave fears for this new album. That's pretty awful to me. Better version? No. Still a sub standard tune that sounds precisely like that ID tune. I wonder if they are in process of some form of litigation of copyright infringement.
  10. Good stuff from these lads from Denmark. Good vocals and equally nifty riffage. https://www.facebook.com/FrozenInTimeBand/ Daniel Larsen: Guitar + vocals David Tagmose: Guitar + vocals Mark Hvid: Bass Emil Gludsø: Drums
  11. These Birmingham lads have a nice modern hard rock sound with a good amount of hook and loud guitars too! Currently it appears have an EP for the taking. https://www.facebook.com/blankparody/ http://www.blankparody.com/ Joby Fitzgerald (Vocals) Liam Howard (Guitar) Connor Hodgkiss (Drums) Freddie Shaw (Bass)
  12. Captain Underpants, again. DOn't care what anyone says this one was thoroughly enjoyable and easily re-watchable many times over. Reminiscent of Jimmy Nuetron which I LOVED. The Darkness=OMFG what a POS. Not even the Kevin Bacon could make this drivel watchable. Fuck why?

  14. Obviously there are a ton of bands about and that's what makes this fun. Well I missed out on these guys (as we all did), shame as they are real good, really digging the Too Late vidja from 2014's Chapter I album. Seems a new record is coming out October 17th. Posted up stuff from both releases. Enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/redravenband http://red-raven.de/ From 2017's Chapter II From 2014's Chapter I Frank Beck (v), Patrick Fey (g), Bernd Basmer (g), Martin Reichhart (, Sebastian Berg (d)

  17. Cool and as they churn out some more samples you will keep hearing, at least in the music and guitar tone that Tigertailz early Ratt vibe. Sure the singers voice is sketchy at times but in the same token she gets after some vintage Doro and for bonus points looks fine in a leather mini...

    Licence

Just got a ping on this band and I dig the Metal Train track. Nice and heavy! EP out and a full length on the way (October 27th to be precise). I did spin the 11 tracks off L2R (Licence To ROck) and man is it good. The opener has a very samey vibe as the Lack of Communication/I Can Fight Dirty Too riff and the rest of the record stays just as heavy and catchy. https://www.facebook.com/Licence.band/?ref=page_internal https://www.licence-band.com/ 1. Intro 2. Don't Touch The Light 3. Reflections 4. L2R 5. Watching 6. Metal Train 7. Believer 8. Tell Me 9. Start The Fire 10. Turn On The Radio 11. Nights of Pleasure Jacky Coke – vocals Steam Thiess – guitar Pappe – bass Sammy Sin – drums
  21. New EP drops this fall. Quite like what I am hearing. No change of opinion. Good band!
  22. Exactly. I only watched because Gurley is on my fantasy league team. Yes I had Tod on mine 3 years back before the move to LA and he did well. Doubling back, looks like it was a shoot out of the bad teams tonight, almost sounded like a fun game to watch.
  23. Yes this travelling abroad is dumb, simple. And Dan yes indeed on those Broncos and Dallas. I hope for Elliot's sake and his non suspension for domestic abuse that the Cowboys continue to spiral. Tonight's game will be a waste, I mean c'mon the Rams and Niners... yawn.
