  1. This is where I got those lyrics and even though I did not read every page it appears that BK is and has been teaming up with some more recent artists, so anything is possible in terms of a cover or recent collaboration. Keep us/me posted if you figure it out. http://www.toto99.com/blog2010/index.php?/categories/1-Hot-News
  2. Love's Gonna Find You Turn away all you want, no worries, don't face the day Same old scene, from a typical girl in her world Take a chance, find romance, no questions 'bout it no... All the same in the end, there's no one to blame Pre-Chorus: Reach out for someone Hold out your hand And I'll be there too... There for you Chorus: Some day, love is gonna find you It's comin up, there right beside you Some day, love is gonna find a way Set your sights, see the lights, no reason to takt it no... Feel the fight from within, it's time for a change Holdin' back you still believe, no one could save you, girl It's all the same in the end, there's no one to blame Pre-Chorus: Chorus Chorus Instrumental Chorus How bout this one. Even though unless the song has been covered or performed with new band recently, maybe live, it is pretty light AOR. It's from Toto frontman Bobby Kimball's solo release "All I Ever Needed" (later re-released in 2009 called "Back In Spades") and the chorus is pretty spot on to what you are quoting.
  3. Is it Wig Wam-Gonna Get YOu Someday I know the lyrics are a bit different, but hey it is a jammin' rock tune and somewhat newer... If not how's about a little more info? Sounds like? Etc...
  4. I liked this album a lot as you can see here: http://www.sleazeroxx.com/bands/julietsvice/dgaf.shtml
  5. My vote went with War. GnR is , was and never will be worthy of RnR hall of fame. Appetite is a cool record, bt there are plenty of cool records/artists out there. Rufus and CK would be my second choice, yes I dig the oldies and those acts obviously had a huge influence on acts that followed them. Do agree with Dave though and hope that Joan Jett gets the deserved credit. And as for the Chili Peppers, don't get me started and absolutely horrible band and their contribution to music as a whole is everytime I hear them I want to blow my own head off! Seriously THE WORST BAND EVER!!!!
  6. Bryan has done some great stuff and thanks to havin wee sprites I got the Spirit soundtrack, the animated horse movie and BA sings the entire soundtrack and it is chock full BA classic grooves. Personal favorite BA cut: Summer of '69, followed closely by Psyched Out off the Spirit soundtrack...
  7. This is the MOST important part of the equation. It's when the booters are deceitful about what they are selling then it gets personal. And it shouldn't be fair game to take someones product and make money off it without compensation to the artist. Be it a new release or a 30 year old album, if I created it I deserve to be compensated for it. Plain and simple. You can't go and start manufacturing 1970 Dodge Super Bee's and selling them without Dodge comming a knocking on your door expecting to be paid and to sue the site out of you... This is much much different than paying/buying some rarity for mega bucks, it has already been payed for once, royalties paid after that its mine, I own it and if I can get some yutz to pay $800.00 for it yeah for me.
  8. to make your own boot, you have to have at least the original disc or copied CDR from other friend, and you have to rip it probably using the software Exact Audio Copy to get a 100% identical sound, because if you're making a boot out of MP3, then basically it's a compressed one right ? usually, another reason to simply buy a boot is we don't have the original source to make an identical copy, and also we don't have a decent printer to make a respectable sleeve, and of course, don't have much time, if we're talking about making 40-50 CDs 40 or 50 No usually just one for me or a pal. Good statement about source. Not sure of were the booters get their source material, but I myself, can get excellent source material from a number of online sources.
  9. Nicely put CH and as many know I cannot scream any louder from the rooftops may praise of Andrew Wood. The kid was an amazing talent and MLB was pure gold. That's what made 10 the best PJ record. As obviously everyone knows that the PJ that recorded 10 was MLB minus Andrew thats why the songs on 10 are great, you can almost hear Andrew singing them. And while we are talking about lumping bands, you certainly can not lump AIC into the same fold as the others. AIC was definatley a great hard rock band.
  10. I get were you are comming from guys, just saying that if it is down to morality or music at least the homemade cdr is the cheapest alternative and as we have discussed before, if no one buys from the bootleggers than they are not going to keep bootlegging right. I have a few great bootlegs and I've seen some really really poor ones too (from legit-ish re-issue labels), but as you all have said if a re-issue or original was available for a reasonble price then I'd get that, sure, but to me buying the bootleg or making my own, I'm making my own. And last bit, with my cheasy color HP, some equally affordable photo paper (i use these things for printing family photo's all the time) and the label burning cdr drive I have I can make and have made some shit hot cdr's and I know some are still floating around out there cause they are really good and I'm no booter. And as far as longivity goes, the bootlegged "silver cdr" won't wear or last any longer or shorter than the one I made and I still have the mp-3 files to fall back on if needed. Not arguing, agreeing a bit, but mostly just saying.
  11. Not my CD collecting. Honestly mate, to each their own. All I can say from my side is that I am so happy to pay $10 for a CD that looks and sounds like the original, rather than pay... what does this go for? Let's say something ridiculous like $100-$200 for an original... which is still going to look and sound exactly like the one I have. I know it's not cool and a legit re-issue which benefits the artist would be preferrable, but let's face it - this CD is pretty much impossible to find, expensive or not. So I lap up this boot. End of the day, paying $700 for a 2nd hand copy doesn't benefit the artist anyway... just destroys your bank account purely for the knowledge that you yourself has an original CD. yeah, i can see your point.... but it's all about the thrill of the chase. and when you know it's a fake having it doesn't quite seem the same. and how many people will get caught out paying big bucks for a fake? why have the original mona lisa when you can hang a poster on your wall. in fact, sell your wifes diamond and replace it with a cubic zerconia (or whatever the fakes are called). i see the even have stuff liek the enw crashdiet on there... why aren't labels doing aything to stop it? i'd much rather be paying $10 for an offical re-issue. The chase irritates and bores me. Seriously, I've had CDs on my want list for that long that there is no fun at all in not having them and waiting for that day that never comes when I finally pick it up for cheap, or in a good trade. I'd rather just have the CD. I'd take a poster over the Mona Lisa any day. Mate, if my wife was happy with it, I'd buy her the world in cubic zerconia. I'm just that kind of dude (who said cheap?). Give me a Ford Wagon I can throw my surfboard in and drive down to the beach over some wank Ferrari or something so I can drive around the streets of Sydney doing 50km. Valuable shit never has and never will impress me just because it's valuable. If an imitation is just as good but 1/100th of the price, give me that every single time. I'll admit, I may have picked up a few boots as well, just because the quality is fantastic (when people on this board are having troubles telling the real one from the fake that's a pretty good indication of what kind of quality is being released) and there are no reissues available of the cd's I am purchasing. Like Geoff said, how am I helping an artist when the artist isn't helping me by making reissues of these hard to find releases available for purchase? If they were I would buy them. But they aren't so I am not going to drop a ton on coin on a piece of circular plastic and a couple paper inserts. The joys of collecting and finding the rare items have long passed for me. I used to hit it big all the time, now going to the used cd stores and pawn shops are just a waste of my time. At least I can now get a copy of an album I never would have dreamed of ever owning for a good price. If that's the case why bother to line the pocket of these bootleggers and just download the music and artwork scans off the internet??? We know there are zillions of places to do that and what makes the cdr and printed artwork you make any different than the one you buy from said bootlegger? And of course for us cheapies at heart a spindle of cdr's is less than the cost of 1 bootlegged cd? Just saying.

  13. They did a cover of 'Do You Love Me' but that was horrible. The album is called "Hard To Believe A Kiss Covers Compilation". It was released on a Seattle label CZ Records. Featured Bullet LaVolta, Smelly Tongues, Skin Yard, Treepeople, ALL, Hullabaloo, Melvins, Coffin Break, Chemical People, King Snake Roost, Niravana and The Hard Ons. There is a quote on the inner sleeve that says "Love ya Gene, please don't sue us." And I still don't get the absolute hatred. Sure each and every band is subject to criticism and sure Nirvana PJ, AIC, Soundgarden, et al are given the title of killers of the 80's music and fore fathers of "grunge", which btw is a name created/generated by marketing excec's to sell more product (s) not the musicians, but its just music. Some of it REALLY good and much of it pretty poor, but I can say the same for any genre and we do here regularly when we discover some off the beaten path AOR band and scream to ether how horrible they are. Point being, growing up in and around Seattle and seeing these and many other bands come and go, they are just rock bands, many have heavy punk rock influences, many have huge glam influences. The ones that blew up just got sucked into the machine and spit out to the masses in pre-packaged little consumables for the masses to choke on. Marketing excec's were having to look elsewhere for ways to make $$$$$$$, the "excess is best" era of the 80's was dying fast and what better way to shun that image than to go polar opposite and jump on the anti-image of the early 90's and of course the mindless masses took to it like a duck to water. Just saying.
  14. It is. On A Plane is amazing! I still say that if Cobain and company looked like LA Guns instead of loggers the general consensus of this cd would be stageringly different...
  15. The DVD's to get are the 2 disc "re-release". This release has the "new" version of the original trilogy and the original as well.
  16. Dark Night No Stars-Stephen King 4 story anthology dealy I'm mostly through the first story and even though it is not an in your face scary read it certainly is written well and keeps the pages turning...
  17. Caught the Fright Night remake online last night and being an extreme hater of film remakes I'd let this one skim by as passible. Russell Crow did just fine as vampire Jerry and I am happy to report, even though this time around it is cgi instead of good ole' makie up the vampire faces are still nice and stretchy wide mouthed creepy looking...
  18. SEKS, one of my new favorite bands has recently done a video of an awesome hard rock/sleeze metal tune called Charlamagne. ENJOY and definately encourage these kids to keep churning out the killer tunes! SEKS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOjpSxf0O-U&feature=player_embedded
  19. Looks like Mister Monroe has a new album dropping and the samples sound awesome! He has quite the who's who of guitarists on this as well... Can't wait to nab this and for those who care Ronny is a really cool guy to rap with and is super supportive of his fans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACB_TcKXZbc&feature=player_embedded Rat Pak Records set to release sophomore album "Lords Of The Edge" from Metal Church singer Ronny Munroe New York, NY - September 20, 2011 - Classic power metal is still alive and well! Ronny Munroe’s (voice of Metal Church) new CD Lords Of The Edge is hands down his finest work to date. Featuring the guitar mastery of Stu Marshall (Empires of Eden), Chris Caffery (TSO/Savatage), and Michael Wilton (Queensryche), Lords Of The Edge is a true metal offering that delivers an onslaught of fist-pumping, guitar-driven heavy metal. Lords Of The Edge gives us 12 new solid tracks of melodic metal that can only be described as one of those rare albums that captures the magic of the classic metal era. “We wanted to create something that was totally new, but at the same time, true metal fans could hear everything that we were influenced by growing up in the classic metal era,” says Ronny on the recording of the new CD. “Lords Of The Edge sounds a little bit like what would happen if you put Metal Church's Light in the Dark CD into a blender with Queensryche's first EP and Judas Priest's Painkiller, then mixed it with some present day themes and a shot of pure adrenaline.” The opening tracks, “Just Breathe” and “Full Circle” offer fast and furious guitar assaults with high energy vocals, while tracks like “The Vision” and “Touched By A Demon” take on a more haunting melodic approach that set up the listener for the gritty, power-metal influenced tracks like “Let Them Feed” and “Rock And A Hard Place”. With 12 strong tracks on this CD, it is a fantastic offering that deserves to be in every metal fan's music collection! 20. Wow that cover art for the Archie/Kiss comic is REALLY poor...
  21. Agreed! I always dug Leste in BT and Beautiful Creatures just kills. Curious which band this BT release will sound like.
  22. These kids are a hoot. I like it! Thanks for the heads up.
